    Learned how to play the guitar by learning this entire album back in the day. The intro solo to "Sanitarium" was the first guitar solo I ever played and the first time I thought "hey I can do this!!!!". Brilliant album. Don't really listen to Metallica any more but I will always view MOP as a masterpiece.

    Lars high on weed... great! AND FOR THOSE WHO SAY METALLICA SOLD OUT, you should listen to his words on this video and actually through out their career all members always agreed to do what they like to do and NEVER CONSIDERED THEMSELVES a TRASH METAL BAND.. that music style is only in your heads Metallica is Metallica and they liked to play music, that is the reason I also like their 90s stuff because the music is great,.. I dont care if is different from what they did in the past I just care about the music they make.

    • @Doomzdayxx
      @Doomzdayxx 3 года назад +1

      They might have said they're not a thrash metal band but they were very young and very naive back then, albeit pioneers who made legendary albums. But you have to put music in some sort of category and "thrash" seemed to fit the definition the best for their music at the time. Also, they DID totally sell out in the 90s. They collectively cut their hair, put on eyeliner and changed their music to fit in better with what was popular at the time. That's textbook selling out. Now with that being said, I personally do not blame them and I think it was something that was inevitable for them, and besides, they had already given us 5 classic albums by that point.

    I was there when thrash metal emerged in the early 80's, the music of metallica was so inspiring ..and powerful ..I loved to listen to what Lars used to say those days.,i have heard many time James saying that he was there just for the music (like Cliff ) ..and i guess he was telling the truth .but when time passed by I felt by listening to him (Lars) that the only one that was playing metal just only for money from the very begining was him...he was just a front. ..and that is sad...that's why Metallica died after Justice for all.

    • @docteur6667

    Mick Wall not knowing his arse from his elbow about Metallica is typical for a Kerrang writer at this time.They really didn't want to know anything about Thrash and rubbished it at every opportunity because it wasn't their beloved Iron Maiden! Then it got popular and they pretended that they championed the scene from the start. Now he's writing books about Metallica as if he's some expert.
    I really miss that Lars, he was a good guy.

He has also said that metallica will not be confined to these types of labels and that if something sounds good to them and they like it they will go in that direction regardless if the fans like it or not!!!!!!! People wake up the black album wasn't a big suprise and metallica didn't sell out!!! You bought their albums u sold them out !!!!

    If anyone has any full episodes of SKY's Monsters Of Rock with Mick Wall hosting, or MTV's Metal Hammer show with The Bailey Brothers hosting on DVD-R or VHS, please contact me at: EvilDeadRules99@Hotmail.com
    I would be willing to buy copies, or trade. But please no LP Mode DVD-R stuff. I'm looking for at least SP Mode (recorded with a standalone DVD Recorder) and preferably XP Mode (otherwise known as HQ Mode, or Highest Quality, 1-Hour Mode).
    There is already 11-Discs up online of some chopped up shows, I have that, and I'm looking for full shows. Commercials included would be great, but as long as the interviews and music videos are intact that would be fine.
    I've got a huge trade list, so if you're willing to trade, I'll send it to you and we can work something out.
