Still remember being at Old Trafford the night when he single handedly ruined United’s chances of a comeback in the CL QF. It was spine chilling and beautiful to witness both sets of supporters coming together to appreciate a true genius of the game.

I started watching football from 1998 and truth be said. During this while, I have never seen a striker as good as the Brazilian Ronaldo R9. His talent and what he was capable with the ball was simply out of this world. Just like Zinedine Zidane, the greatest attacking midfielder I have ever seen during this period.
The level of football R9 played even Messi and Ronaldo cannot be compared to him. Never mind haaland or mpappe. I grew up watching brazilian legends such as R9, robinho,adriano, R carlos, ronaldinho. Till this day I havent seen players that can play like brazil in 1998-2006. R carlos my favourite player alongside R9
Saying that Messi hasn't reached Ronaldo's level... makes you smile. Let's talk about two Martians. But Messi played at Ronaldo's level and maybe something more for like..mmm..from 2006 to 2019 it's like 13 years..to be tight. Too much mythology. @@6persempre710it’s not only nostalgia but a simple fact that R9 didn’t just become ‘The Phenomenon’. What he showed on the pitch has never been seen till this day. Both R9 and Messi had their own way to get the job done. Either way I looked at R9 with more awe. And he showed some real joga bonita.
He is only better at fancy dribbling. Messi is clear in everything else.
I'll never forget watching Roberto Carlos hit that free kick against France. To this day, the single greatest strike in football history. Absolutely unbelievable.

@@davidburgarelli9453 Concordo plenamente. R9 foi o maior jogador que eu vi em toda a minha vida, e tenho 41 anos, mas o Pelé recebeu um dom Deus acima de todos os outros seres humanos. Ele jogou numa época em que não teve You Tube pra se inspirar em nenhum outro jogador, não existia falta e muito menos cartão no jogo, apanhava mais que um condenado, jogava com chuteira com sola rígida parecendo uma pedra, chutava uma bola de capotão lascado que parecia um coco com navalha afiada, não existia medicina e ciência esportiva com 10% do nível que existe hj (spray pra dor, cirurgia e recuperação de tendão - isso já era o fim da carreira do atleta) e mesmo assim INVENTOU 99% das jogadas, movimentos e dribles que existem hj e que até o próprio R9 fazia. Pelé mudou a configuração de jogo na história do futebol, se pesquisar vai ver que a posição de volante não existia e foi pra ter mais um marcador na sobra do Pelé que criaram essa posição... Pelé é INCOMPARÁVEL!

im lucky enough to have seen R9, CR7 and Messi in their prime...i totally agreed, R9 is like both CR7 and Messi combined in terms of spees, strength, skill, intelligence and determination..thats why he is better..the only setback is his shortlived period on the top..thats what make CR7 and messi considered as the GOAT, as no other great players can stay on top for more than 20yrs..im being objective here
@@sky23papaI agree. We have seen an UFO on the court with Ronaldo, but it was like a flashlight. It came and left too quickly (after the injuries in Italy he wasn’t an UFO anymore). The other two lasted longer, good for them and for football

God Level , no striker reached his peak level. Combination of CR7 + Ronaldinho + Messi with an insanely strong body , playing with cheat code is what was R9 in peak. He was genius with ball & already the best in the world at the age of 17 & considered to be next pele by Legends like Beckenbauer , cruff etc. Stats & awards don't paint the right picture of this phenomenon. He won a worldcup & a golden boot at 60% of his level due to multiple injuries.... He was insane , nuts , crazy, words can't describe this phenomenon. He made people put an alarm to watch him play due to time zone differences. He was like a Magician on soccer field. He just didn't play football, he did magic on field.. If only there were more footage , social media during those days, GEN Z would have known how truly wrong they are to even compare him with anyone....Sadly he never reached his true peak but is still considered GOAT says it all 🐐.
