Hello everyone. This happened to me 2 days ago. For anyone reading this now and are panicking DONT WORRY. The first rule is to block them instantly, make friends private and deactivate your account for a month or two ( you don’t have to permanently delete it). Make sure you DO NOT send them any money at all as then they will pester you for more and will have leverage on you. If you don’t send any money you’re fine so chill. Don’t attempt to talk to them or question or counter threaten them about anything. Theyve got no reason to focus on you as this is a business and they have MANY people on the line, they’re looking for the ones that shit themselves straight away and give them money out of panic. I was traumatised when it happened but done my research and realised it’s a very common scam and if you follow the steps I gave then you don’t need to worry. Feel free to ask me anything!

So I was in this app spotafriend and this girl it looks fake and she wants me to grt kik which is an old social media app and we chat there and she ask for my nudes and my dumbass one pic sent it to her and she was able to know my ig account but idk if she had it I change my password tho and put it on private and im scared that my friends might see it and she asking for more $300 which I refuse and I told my homies and tried contacting the bitch by telling her to stfu or else they'll beat her which she didnmt reply and said the same thign about exposing my friends but luckily I stop them from doong so and cut off the contact from friends and me.

I was threatened a year ago with that scam but today I received an email threatening me again. WHAT SHOULD I DO? How much longer is this going to carry on? DO THE PEOPLE CLAIMING THEY HAVE A VIDEO, HAVE THE VIDEO AND WILL THEY ACCESS TO PEOPLE I KNOW IF THEY ARE FED UP? NEED ANSWERS
It's probably a fake, unless they've shown you the video don't believe it. Most of the time, they threaten and say that they have hacked you and provide your e-mail and a password as proof that they have, but those details have probably been bought from a data dump. If they do have a video contact the police and action fraud.
Block them & don’t pay. If you pay, then they will continue to demand money.
