      @@nabiiii which is also funny because he didn't have the startup animation in the second update (he was playable there, but unfinished), so they could just remove it, they literally have an iteration of knuckles without it, so I really hope they can do a patch to clean up the bugs, adjust some of the characters and difficulty, and then this update will have the polish it needs

    Agree with Amy being the best. I had the same impression about Knuckles at first, but once I unlocked all the skills, he became on par with the rest of the cast. Quite fun. Regardless of the inconsistent difficulty, for a final update, this was a blast. The new cyberspace levels, especially the Chemical Plant ones, are probably the best Sonic stages produced since 2011.

    I have the opposite opinion about Tails, but for the same reasons you listed. He's the most technical character and I think it works fantastically in this world

      I noticed that went unmentioned. Once you unlock all the skills for everyone the game becomes very dynamic. Sounds like he just rushed through it.

    Theres quite a bit of a learning curve when it comes to this update i wouldnt be suprised if alot of people found it difficult. But for me personally i was able to get a grip on everything pretty well and man does it feel great so honestly for me its just a major improvement from the base game 90%

      Yeah exactly. It was a very rewarding experience. Was definitely more challenging than eggmanland from unleashed. I was able to adapt to all the hard challenges in this update as I'm an experienced player

    Probably the best thing about the update is that it gives Sonic Team a pretty clear roadmap for a sequel to come and polish the formula. Like polish up the base 4, maybe add Shadow/Metal Sonic/Blaze as unlockable characters, emphasize more physics and organic platforming, make combat more like DMC or KH2FM lol, and stuff like that. Now, whether Sonic Team does this or not has yet to be seen

      I wouldn't put TOO much faith unless they nail the next 3d mainline game. The first time is one thing but if they get 2 7+/10 games in a row then Sonic will definitely be good hands moving forward

    Knuckles gliding functions almost exactly like it did in the classic games there’s a slight pause before you start moving forward and the time it takes to turn feels heavy it’s not meant to feel like adventure because adventures glide was completely different then the classics

      To my awareness, in the classic games there wasn't a pause before Knuckles started gliding. The turn speed is accurate to the classic games though.

      Just because it's "like the classics" (which it isn't) doesn't mean it's good. Knuckles simply controlled better in the adventure games and there's zero excuse he should be worse in a 2023 game

    Despite its flaws this is easily the best of the 3 updates, and really wrapped up this game in a neat bow. The difficulty definitely seemed unfair at times. (Most notably with that boss rush), but that made the ending so much more satisfying when I got there.

    Mixed is the perfect way to describe this update. It’s gonna be interesting to see how the reception stacks up from here, and how it affects the series going forward.

    To be fair about the platforming you can take advantage of each characters abilities to skips a lot of the platforming, like flying in the Cyclone or gliding.

    I think the update was actually way better than I was expecting I grinded most of it out last night and finished today I got everything on the map for all the characters and I found myself impressed w the ideas for platforming nd puzzles got used to the move sets and after the spin dash w everyone I got so comfy and found myself using everyone differently for their own purpose but all fast. I think w time ppl w warm up to it more. The story was ok they explain a lot of the main story In optional cutscenes the story generally just feels really explainy. BUT SO HAPPY HOPE EVERYONE ELSE CAN ENJOY IT THE MOST LIKE I AM

      I think the glide i think is supposed to be used sparingly and tails gets the tornado to make some of his platforming easier but the flying is a course correction

    I think you really miss read sages character in the original ending she doesn’t like sonic she isn’t a good guy she simply realizes she wants to have a family like sonic and his friends she doesn’t turn good everything she’s doing is to save egg man in both endings

    I'm enjoying the update so far.
    My only grip, is the cyloop, i would prefer if this skill was exclusiva to Sonic.
    It's weird seeing the other characters using it 😅

    I think the problem of this update is that this update is not in a state of polish that is ideal, the difficulty is unbalanced at times, and don't even tell me about the bugs. I think that most flaws in this update are easily fixable, and I hope we can get a patch or another update to the game that adjust and polish this update more. I think the content is good, but the lack of polish brings it down

      Seriously, you know how low polished this update is when you understand that MY GAME FUCKING CRASHED WHEN I DID THE UPPER CYLOOP THINGY ON THE FINAL BOSS.
      So much suffering and i need to pass trough it again, luckily i saved right after doing the trials...

    There are so many wrong things you said in this video I disagree with that I have to point out.
    1. Amy being overpowered with her jumps is the entire point of her playstyle. Even in Superstars she plays like this, with her multiple jumps.
    2. Everything you said about Knuckles gliding is completely resolved by upgrading to the super glide. Therefore the un-upgraded version of the glide is meant to be flawed, so you have more of a reason to upgrade it and feel rewarded like you truly glowed up.
    3. The delay for Tails's flight is ironically what I like about him, it's a good thing because it warms up for the actual flight part where he gains vertical distance. Useful for those puzzles where you have to be near the glowing ball for long enough while holding the button to solve the puzzle.
    4. Tails doesn't need a homing attack. His flight and overall SA1 playstyle renders it completely redundant for him.
    5. You don't NEED the spin dash for that tower section. You can jump over those distances just fine normally without it.
    6. Your entire friend group clearly sucks at the game and it's completely their fault, skill issue. Don't blame the game, instead tell them to git gud.
    Matt I usually love your videos but after watching this I'm convinced that you had absolutely no idea what you were talking about.

      Sound to me like you are dick riding this flawed update..
      You are completely ignoring the jank and confusing level designs with unoptimized difficulty..
      Some things are just stupid having to figure out to progress like cylooping supremes sniper to use against him, If you don’t have automatic combos on how are you suppose to figure something like that out or the tedious towers you’ll have to climb a 100 times.

    Update had a lot of jank and I did rage a lot(For one, due to the janky parts and I think anyone who's played through this update knows where most of the rage comes from). I just love the vibe of the update and the ending got me SO hyped! Literally peak fiction IMO. Being able to play as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails was awesome in their own ways, and the themes are SUCH a vibe. Though I have to criticize Knuckles' glide because why is it so stiff?
    But that aside, this update was a 9/10 for me. I hope they continue to improve upon Sonic as a series. Great review btw!

    Sonic team needs to understand difference between challenging and unfair BS. But I really enjoyed playing as the other 3, as well as the SAUCE they gave The Revamped Supreme Fight. Makes me excited for the Next Sonic Game

      It’s really REALLY not unfair it’s just confusing and the rest is actually challenging ‘trail 5 requires you to master the titans and know what attacks and techniques would do the most damage ‘trail 2 is confusing’and the towers and platforming is really well designed and well intersting and I loved it and had fun ‘I understand if you don’t like it’s fine but believe me it’s really not unfair

      The titan fights are janky to begin with. Wyvern has random missile patterns annd every titan you can clip inside on top of sometimes their attacks have 2 hitboxes that can overlap canceling your parries. Trial 5 should not exist given they never fixed the titans.@@2ndspringtube708

    The key to the platforming is to adjust your physics. Also with tails the best thing to do is to unlock the Tornado. It saves you a world of headache.

    Personally I thought that despite its flaws this was a phenomenal update and I loved all of it :DD but I completely understand why you and others in the community didn’t have as much of a good time. You made a lot of valid points here that I agree with and this update is far from perfect imo but I still thought it was a MASSIVE step up from the og ending

    While there are issues, because this is still infinitely better than the lame original ending and it’s also free, keep in mind that the first 3 island were jank as hell like this, but still enjoyable, so if the original game with the original ending was a 7, by update 2 it was an 7.5 and now I’d say my official rating would be an 8.5.

    Personally I thought the platforming with all the towers was fantastic. Finally gave me a real challenge with the game. Same with the final trial (Even though I did rage on Wyvern a couple times)

      @@Robin503I also climbed all of them on hard mode and really enjoyed them a lot and loved thier design and I didn’t fall as much but still fall a couple of times that was frustrating but I still really liked them and didn’t have as much bad time as others did and trail 5 is kinda satisfying

      True there is some glitches and stuff that needs to be ironed out but for the most part it sounds like a skill issue cause I did extreme mode and got through all 4 trial towers (working on the the master trial now ) and while yes it was frustrating the games difficulty seems good here (if it is the same on easy and normal then maybe it need to be toned down a bit)

    I... I never thought I would disagree with you but the time has come.
    First the characters, while I do agree Amy is the best that is were it ends, to me Knuckles is clearly the worst of the 3, all of his abilities I found fun, his climbing to me was perfect and I wouldn't change a single thing (and he can also climb regular climbable walls, the ones Sonic can too) but his gliding got me some time to get used to, it's clear it's made to go in straight lines with a few adjustments but it is really slipery, the infinite glide while feels way less slipery it also goes way to fast, although, the stomp made it way easier to stop where I want it. In general when I understood how the game wanted me to use the glide, I used and abused, the satisfaction of jumping of the tower, marking something on the map and just go there with the infinite glide is unmatched.
    Tails I only put him behind amy because his combat is the worst of the 3, but the guy can go literaly any where at any time and skip everything, I don't really have a problem with his startup to fly since he just retains altitude for a couple seconds while still being able to move unlike Knuckles that stops in the air for a second, it was to me a lot of fun to see how can I reach X thing and then I see plataforms a little close by the objective... the rest you know how it goes, plus when I had to go the main way never really had problems with it, and if Tails without the Cyclone is already the best character in my opinion for traversal, Tails with the Cyclone just demolishes any traversal problems I ever had.
    For the Towers, they were hard but I never felt that it wasn't my fault, for example, the only time I got stuck in a section was on the second tower where you need to Cyloop a thing that is in the middle of a circle shaped rail, I did not realise you had to cyloop them because you can reach the second one by homing attacking it, so I never thought I had to Cyloop them until I turned easy mode and realised you can't progress there too if you not Cyloop them. For the rest of the Towers I found them pretty fun and challenging. (And the part you showed in the video where you have to spindash... I just double jumped? I don't know why you did that but you could even air boost and then stomp for even better safety)
    The trials I really only had a problem with the second one, where the time there is really screwed, also, I did not even know the technique you used in the video, I just cylooped them without boosting, hit them until the combo counter reached 4 and repeated, I got 1 second and a half to spare so it was really close.
    The boss gauntlet I did not use the stomp technique at all, it was really a matter of quick cylooping and cross slash, it may have taken a couple hours to beat it but the feeling of satisfaction and learning how the fights really worked was worth it, in my first try I barley got to the second phase of Wyvern and by the end I beated Knight with 50 rings to spare. (I did it on normal, but one day will be in hard)
    The level design of the new Ouranos was really fun for me and if I had to choose between the 2 versions of Ouranos the new one would be a easy choice.
    The worst part of the update to me was the new Supreme, I still have to replay it so my opinion will probably change after that, but man they do not let things clear on that fight, I fought that fucker 6 times to the bitter end not understanding what the hell I needed to do, it was the first time on the update I had to search for information because I completely forgot how you change the target, and even then and I took the bastard to the ground 5 times until I realised that you needed to Cyloop the hole. The visuals were isanely good and I have nothing to complain but man it was frustrating being at the end of the game and not progressing because I had no clue what to do.
    The Cyberspace levels were all really fun to S rank and are easily my favorite of the game, but the conditions to get the keys are a bit of a pain, in one side I found it good that they are harder and makes the player wanting to do multiple Cyberspace levels instead of just making 2 with piss easy objectives and having all the keys needed, but on the other side what I did of the flickies objective made me just want to S rank them all and deal with the other objectives later.
    Really liked the story and felt it as a way better conclusion to the game, plus the With me (now with vocals) made me almost tear up a bit since it's an inversion of dear father where there Sage was saying goodbye and now she's looking forward to the happy family she wanted on Dear father!
    In general this update closed the deal to me as Frontiers being the best Sonic game and the only thing that made me screen at the sky in frustration is that when you finish it, the other playble character aren't playable in other islands (I don't even care if they don't have level design made for them, I just want to play with all of them more!), but hey, that's my opinion and you have yours, I hope that in the future if you ever play this section again you are able to see what I see in it, and fun fact that I discovered! Making a new game plus now carries the Spindash.

      You have to break the end's chain connecting it to the moon which you can do as super sonic 1 as well then when you get it to super low health cyloop twice to crush it then cyloop a circle on its back to bring out a gun then cyloop gun then you know how to fight its phase 3 which is super awesome and epic. Btw did you know dodgecancelling attacks causes supersonic to switch what part of a titan's body he is locked onto? I only learned that cause of the final fight and being frustrated like you.

    Usually when it came to Tails platforming, I didn’t find it as bad to control trying to fly then land like I did with Knuckles, and when it came to Tails puzzles, I would literally just get max rings, get and infinite boost, and use his plane to fly up to the EXP Koko or the Navigation Koko😂😂 And also when it came to the spindashing part, I didn’t even that you were supposed to spindash! I just ran across😂😭

    in all honesty, ouranous was my favourite island prior to the update, and when I heard that they were going to do story changes, I was like 'oh, they're giving rhea a purpose!' so imagine my disappointment when they just redid ouranous and did NOTHING to rhea.
    And the worst part? I have to climb 5 MORE TOWERS. they were a pain in the base game, and tower 4 was absolute hell for me.

    I couldn't even find how to get that one Chaos Emerald with Tails, I just cylooped to get infinite boost and then used tails' tornado skill to keep flying upward until i reached the emerald

    There are two things I'd like to mention that make Tails and Knuckles a lot more fun IMO.
    For tails, one of the skills you can attain is his Cyclone boost. I enjoyed him way more with that move as he's summoning his craft from SA2 in flight and if you have the infinite boost, you can fly as high and as far as you want.
    2nd, this maybe an ironic one but Knuckles infinite jump glitch is back. If you spam the glide button while airborne and is normal attacks (as long as you have his uppercut punch), nothing's stopping him from going up.

    And I know we're all clowning the first tower but can we talk about the second? Like at least the other towers made it _feel_ like you had skill issue, the second was just bs all the way to the top. That said, I found second trial to be easier than the first (the time limit is still stupid though)
    Overall I had a good time with this update (towers 2+4 and trial 5 aside), and I actually enjoyed playing as Tails and Knuckles. I liked the new music as well, specifically Knuckles' theme and the Ouranos remix that plays when you're _ascending the towers_ as Sonic
    Edit: infinite glide is the stuff of legends

    The actual thing that annoys me, is when you upgrade your skill tree, you're taken to a tutorial, then once that tutorial is clear, they spawn you far from the spot you were, so if you were doing a hard platforming segment, you had to restart it all over again.

    Simply playing as the other characters is really cool (control issues aside). Cyberspace stages, music and esspecially the final boss are incredible. Buuuut some of the challenges and difficulty are egregious af. I don’t mind challenge, esspecially after how easy the main game is. However, given the jank and other issues the game has it is insanely punishing, the boss rush trial at the end is disgusting. Still really enjoyed it though ngl.

      The perfect parry doesn’t really work with the first 3 titans bc the game wasn’t designed around it. The ebonies attack animations and actual hits don’t happen at the same time so getting the timing right is difficult

    What I notice is that you are comparing the characters to sonic adventure. This is not sonic adventure so wanting things to operate like it did is totally unrealistic. And true to all sonic games, tails don't have a homing attack, nor should he. Tails never had it and never learned it. Plus tails doesn't need one because of his flight, something you don't understand because you suck. I found tails flying actually good and useful when put into good use. Someone who can't deal without a homing attack, skill issue. And also skill issue into not knowing how to use him. Skill issue for platforming as well because of the fact that it wasn't a spin dash section, it was more of a boost section. Plus this isn't meant to hold your hand and not supposed to be basic platforming. The difficulty adds to the experience, if you thought that it was a flaw on their part then you are mistaken, simply enough you just suck. Instead of complaining on things that seem too hard, learn from the Experience keep trying. Sure I got frustrated sometimes on this but that didn't take away from the experience, I had a blast even through the hard parts as I kept learning and learning how to get through it. So again skill issue. Trial 2 is actually good, it was challenging but I was able to get past all on my own by actually trying. You say you play metroid dread, I defeated malenia from elden ring, SKILL ISSUE. Dear God you are a bad reviewer or maybe you just extremely suck. all i hear is whining. I went through the struggle and found satisfaction. And I'm not a professional game player in the slightest. So what i know is that this video is just you having some PREMIUM SKILL ISSUE.

    I think the Update is good but Some fans wanted difficulty added to Frontiers and Kishimoto listened and it ended with some random difficulty spikes but it’s cool to play as Tails, Amy and Knuckles so it’s fine.

    Yeah, I'm mixed about it too. The difficulty spike was unnecessary (in the story, at least). I feel like they should've save that level of difficulty for post-story content.. and it doesn't help that the game has a *crapton* of jank, there were SO many times where I couldn't even attack an enemy or boss due to the awful collision (mostly in the Snake's Trial, Supreme and the End). Although, the trials after the second one weren't too hard, other than the Master King's trial (looking at YOU, Wyvern).
    Honestly, the best thing about this update HAS to be the new playable characters. Out of all of them, I found Amy to be the most useful, as I was able to skip most of the platforming and/or roam around Ouranos Island fast and easy. I mean, come on.. Spin Dash + double jump + glide = a great amount of distance and air.
    Tails was the most fun to play as, as soon as I unlocked the Cyclone Boost, Amy became kinda redundant.. it's EXTREMELY OP when exploring the open zone (you know exactly why). Although, the startup of his flight ability is a little awkward.
    Knuckles was.. ehh, alright.. his glide movement has SO much weight to it that it's kinda awkward to steer, that's probably the only thing I don't like about him.
    And about Super Sonic's new form and the End, while I'm disappointed that we couldn't fight the End itself as a different incarnation and Super Sonic's new form was just an enhanced Super Sonic (or should I say Super Sonic 2), the new boss was a HECK of a lot better than the OG. It was *so* epic.. I got *major* DBZ vibes from its cutscenes!
    However, it's VERY janky when you have to attack the wire attached to Supreme and then cyloop its back since, for some BIZARRE reason.. I can't seem to lock-on to the wire or its back, at times.
    Overall, I give The Final Horizon update an 8/10. It may be flawed, but it provided some great content.

    Honestly, I'm a bit mixed as well. I completed the majority of this DLC on hard mode (until Trial 5). I raged a lot and it was difficult (not because of well thought out game design but purely because of jank) but I liked what the game had to offer all the way to the end.

    I don’t know if you know this but setting the game to easy mode before loading your save file for update 3 adds balloons on each of the towers.

    I had a BOMBASTIC time when playing this update, but yeah, it's not perfect at all, but even so it's just amazing to think how Sonic Team made a free update with so much to offer
    To me, platforming was great and kinda reminds me to Celeste, why? Simple, because sometimes I needed to stop and actually use my brain to figure out how to complete an specific section and it gets even more interestring when each character has its own way to platform, which is something that never happened to me in a Sonic game
    Even if it can get quite messy at times, I still appreciate the HUGE effort that Sonic Team put to this update, as it's obvious that they're actually experimenting with stuff and actually get creative, which makes me even more hyped for the future
    Even if I disagree with some stuff, great vid bro!

    Im going to be honest, that fixed all the problems with precise platforming in this update was change the configs to have a low inicial acelleration speed, that make my game feel a lot smoother, i know ppl like to play with every thing at max, but that shit affects even the flight characters ots a world changer

    I'm also mixed on this update but my opinions on it are swapped (besides trials and towers, we agree on that) I didn't like the ending at all but I loved the playable characters. I agree Knuckles glide needs to be fixed but Tails is super fun and broken once you get the cyclone plane boost. you can boost to fly anywhere then fly with your tails to recharge the boost meter and fly some more. it's like having a playable super sonic outside of titan fights lol
    I'm curious what your thoughts are on the new cyberspace levels and mini-bosses tho. personally I'm disappointed by how weak in combat the new characters are. makes me want to avoid all the new guardian fights. the cyberspace levels are really cool tho

    I first played the update on Extreme mode and I made it all the way up to trial five before it became rage inducing. I had to redo the whole update on a hard mode save file and still really struggled with the fifth trial. I then spent an hour on the final boss as there was no indication to cyloop the gun in supreme’s back. It was still the best part of the update but the entire experience left me with a bittersweet aftertaste.

    You don’t have to spindash up the slope. You can use any method in sonics arsenal to overcome the platforming. If one method isn’t working try something else. You can boost jump, bounce jump, or just double jump. If you take the time to experiment with sonics moveset the towers are some of the most satisfying platforming in the entire game. Yes it can be cryptic at times but if you were struggling that much put it down to easy.

      100% agree, the towers are difficult but if youre creative with physics and moveset then youll find your way, boosting off the slanted cubes at the bottom of the 2nd(?) Tower allows you to skip some sections

    Well ive decided to put my opinions out there but i genuinely dont understand how this update is difficult. SURE knuckles controls kinda jank but you kinda just need to get used to that. The great laser wall of China im calling is pretty easy as i managed to beat it on my 2nd attempt.
    And then theres the snake trial imma be honest the snake trial is overhyped and is pretty easy in my experience I managed to beat it in less then 10 attempts on hard mode.
    I just genuinely think some people have A TAD bit of a skill issue. I will point out however that i genuinely think restricting sonics stats to 1 throughout the first 4 trials was a great idea which actually gave a bit of challenge to sonics combat without the punishing extremitys that extreme mode would give on a normal playthrough. Overrall good update some people just need actually get good and use there brains for once and fix knuckles glide

    The difficulty of this update is actually fully based on what difficulty you have set if you have it on easy it’s nowhere near as hard as you think especially scaling the towers becomes much easier

    I 100% agree with everything you said in this video. A lot of good content but it lacked playtesting, like, badly. A lot of random difficulty spikes, even on easy, which pretty much ruined it for me. So far I've only played one Cyberspace stage and it was so awful I'm not even excited to see the other ones.

    Watching some of your gameplay, i feel your criticism also stems fro. the fact that you didnt upgrade the characters enough to help with certain obstacles. Example: takes has the abilities to throw wrenches instead of homing attacks so he can clear enemies and obstacles in the way

      THe only unfair stuff is usually with the enemy trials like the first one and the boss one but all trials would be fair if combat wasn't so janky in frontiers. The titans are notoriously janky. Speedrunners understood this but most fans did not sadly so we got a boss rush that would be awesome if it weren't with the titans we have. You have no idea how many times i clipped inside giganto and got hit by two hitboxes cancelling my perfect parry on top of wyvern missiles hitting me during its claw attacks. @@Sonic101hedgehog

    I agree with everything you said in the vid bro 💀 To me it felt like they finally understood what to do with the game but the game is so broken and janky that it just seems weird. Interesting to see how people struggled on the 2nd trial 🤔 I did but the parts people are struggled on is weird. I literally just took ky time and walked through those parts, spin dashing is WAAYYY too op to be used in a way like that

The people who couldn't deal with the parkour wouldn't last one second playing a mario kaizo hack. Only super janky thing with frontiers is the titan fights imo. Outside of that and scripted segments which are always somewhwat janky this is the best controlling sonic game by a mile. I have a huge issue with people hating other characters feeling so didfferent to play then calling the controls of said characters bad instead of adapting and wanting diversity like they claim.     I understand why some might feel disappointed in the latest update. I myself still don't trust Sonic Team to deliver a great modern 3D game after so many missteps, and I haven't bought a new Sonic game since Generations back in 2011.
    That being said, it's not the first time 3D Sonic games have been a mixed bag. Going back to the Adventure games, SA1 was also quite mixed in quality, with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles being solid play styles, Amy's was average, and Big the Cat was intolerably bad. SA2 further refined the formula, reducing the game-play to only three variations - Speed, Shooting with Mechs and Treasure hunting. Couple that with the now iconic storylines, and you got what is widely considered the peak of 3D Sonic games.
    If Sonic Team can further refine the game-play established in Frontiers in the same way they did with SA2, and assuming they don't throw it all away in the next 3D game, they could be on to a real winner, but with Sonic these days, it's always a "wait and see" affair.

    I have to disagree with the characters, there skill tree is amazing, Tails having the SA2 mech that allows him to fly with good movement in the air, even being able to go up and down makes him so much more fun

      And Knuckles having an infinite glide it absolutely broken too, and the glitch that allows him to get infinite height almost like in Rise of Lyric, then Amy's stomp jump combined with her other jumps is so busted

    My problem is we got all these new characters but can only play them on 1 island WITH NO ENMEMEYS TO FIGHT the thing is they do so many amazing things in the game but we don't get to use them and still no cyber or super sonic in open world but other than that its really good especially the final boss :)

    I really do not understand the difficulty issues with the update. I found trial 5 especially to be a very fun challenge especially when I learned of the perfect parry system and I beat trial 2 my second try after a bit of thinking (it is still tedious tho). Idk if I may just have a different mindset when it comes to difficulty but I found almost everything in this update to be a fun welcome challenge and I think upon replaying the game I'll shoot for this as my main way of experiencing the ending. (Also sidenote I found Tails super fun and if you unlock the tornado you can legit just skip any platforming challenge, I didn't even know that end section tower climb challenge even exisfed cause I just flew to the top lol)

    15:24 I actually have beat trial 2 without any help on hard mode. It took a while to figure it out but it’s so well worth it. It wasn’t even the method shown here. What you do is after you use the Cycloop to lower its defenses, you can actually spindash into it giving you an extra hit AND start attacking much sooner. You can defeat one of them with 2 or 3 of these.

    I think Tails actuall controls the best amongst the three. Him not having a homing attack is to prevent him from breaking the game even more and to keep him some what balanced. Knuckles is definetely the worse because of his turning and that delay.

    Of all the sonic creators I watched not one of them said anything about the new cyberspace levels and I don’t know why they are generally good full 3D levels

      They are not designed the best so I could understand why someone wouldn't like the cyber space levels. However they are very experimental with momentum and I think it's cool for what it's worth.

    Tails doesn’t really need a homing attack, when his base flying already gets the job done adequately, and his Tornado basically breaks the game.
    And the towers difficulty isn’t the problem. You didn’t have to spin-dash on that part, you can just run and boost. The main problem with those towers is that the game expects players to have experimented with all of Sonic’s moves and combos…and the game doesn’t really tell you or hint much of any of that toward the player.

    The only problem I had with the update was trial 5 was that the animations are NOT made for a perfect parry. The attacks are so annoying to understand when the hit is actually coming. Like each and every single one of wyverns attacks

      I got so sick of the trial that I quit. And I was playing on easy. They shouldn't expect perfection on easy. But that is what you have to do.

    I was stuck on trial 2 for like an hour and then once i found out how i was supposed to do it(looked up another person's stream to see how they beat it.) i then got to trial 5 and i tried for almost TWO HOURS to try and beat that and i still haven't. I legit am angry that i likely can't beat the update now cause i cannot beat trial 5 no matter what i do. This update is insane, why did they have to make it so hard? xD

    The Island Challenges are extremely irritating, I’m trying to do a Ball Challenge but I’ve tried everything but I can’t get the last few rings. Obviously rushed. As soon as these issues came up I realized that.

      I can agree to that, took me a 3rd retry to get it done. You just have to aim your screen to the ball, or anyone in the game.

    Was really hoping for a more in depth breakdown of the new characters and their movesets. How's the combat with Knuckles? Does Tails' mech have a whole other set of moves or how does it affect his base moves?

    The challenges from the Sonic Frontier’s Update 3 regarding the side quests and then the level designs of both of the OverWorld and the Cyberspace Stages are indeed harsh as well as a mixed bag, which is no where flexible as that of the main storyline incident

    For the tails emerald very high up, I deadass got the flying mech and flew up there myself. Wasn’t until this vid that I knew there was an actual way to get up there

    I agree with a lot of his statements however I did manage to get used to knuckle’s gliding fairly quickly and had a lot of fun with him. But I also had to change the game’s difficulty regularly because of the towers and trials.

    I haven't gotten past the 2nd trial yet. Thank god for the footage you showed. I actually tried doing what the footage showed before watching but I failed a couple times and i thought it wasnt possible but it is so im gonna try it again.

    It was understandable that the game code was not synced with update 3 but man they deliver some good stuff even though not all promises is not going to make it in time.
    Harder Guardian+, Playable characters, pressure sweaty platforming(which is punishing), Perfect Parry and ultra sonic being more badass in years made me cry in years thank you kishimoto. It’s a B+ because the pop in, bad camera angle on bosses and platforming also slide control settings not working properly?

    The thing I loved. The extra playable characters' tails was my favorite I thought his flying worked perfectly. Amy and Knuckles was okay the only thing I didn't like about Knuckles was his guide. The thing I didn't like was how sonic frontiers turned into a lower medium difficulty game to the hardest game I ever played.

    I like update 3, it still has jank and is really difficult, the characters movement has flaws, but since we got them for the first time in so long, it could be worse. The new Cyberspace stages are easily the best ones in the game, multiple paths, hidden secrets, each stage has a new gimmick, loved it.
    Imo, they could try to revisit the adventure formula, not sa3, just the formula, bc they could focus on creating levels that works with their moveset. And that doesn't mean they can't use the Frontiers template, like instead of having multiple islands, just have a city that serves like a hub for the game, like sa1 but bigger.
    Anyway, I like what they did, but if they want to keep multiple characters, please don't use the boost, or make it a Sonic exclusive

    I just hope these lets Sonic Team drift back to a Sonic Adventure/Frontiers mix. Just refine and hone in on the concept.
