I forget how green Newcastle actually is, very fond memories of Leazes Park catching sticklebaks, the The Hoppins on the Town Moor, always emotional coming into central station seeing the Tyne Bridge and the Cathedral on the Hill.. when you have been away for a while. A very much underrated city, also coast line and beaches although can be a bit nippy when the wind comes in off the north sea. Excellent work again 👏
I always got excited (wasn't born in Newcastle but was conceived there), when going over the Tyne Bridge, my Dads from there, well north of there went to a grammar school in Ashington I believe (actually from my Grandmothers side on his side certainly her father one of my Great Grandfathers descended from Scotland, Clan Bruce). My mothers from Birmingham lol
I’ve been watching your videos now since late last year. Been Newcastle in the past a number of times. I’m 22 and have been living in London for the past 4/5 years. Decided I’m moving to Newcastle, just sorting out a job and somewhere to move to. Thanks!
@@TynesideLife They definitely have! Newcastle has the perfect balance of a place I’d like to live and noticed it more from your videos. Nice residential areas, great football club, plenty of green areas, large river and nice coast line, efficient transport system, among other things. Can’t wait to get away from London. I’m also an avid walker/runner of late so this route is something I’ll definitely do and make sure I find a place to lose close to it. My friends have recommended Gosforth is that a good idea?

Be great to see you on the Palmersville Dairy field, which I always called the Procters Field or George Stephenson field. Maybe one for later, cheers.

I love going on the old wagon ways on my Moutain bike, especially with the weather being unreal recently, the one from Seaton Delavel to Whitley bay is good and the one from North Shields to Seghill is great as well.
I was born in Newcastle..but grew up in Seghill.. As children we would take long walks through the old slate quarry..and the overgrown golf course...up into Lord Walton Brown's Estate.. I recall one time we were stealing crab apples on the Estate...and his Gramekeeper started chasing us...what fun that was...!!! These places are long gone now....but those wonderful childhood memories are as clear today as they were 70 years ago. If we were hungry or peckish along the way... we would dig up the roots of white flowers to find little nuts called narnicks....anyone remember those.. ? I now live in the state of Massachusetts...in the New England area of the USA...but never forgot those fond memories of wild walks through Seghill and Cramlington all those years ago.
Despite what The Victoria Comet claim-Caine leaves Central station via the old ticket office exit and crosses over the road to the old Douglas hotel long bar. A scene WAS filmed in there though.
Just been reading up on what you’ve said and never knew that and certainly not common knowledge. I filmed part of a video in the Vic Comet for the Arsenal away match and there’s memorabilia all over the premises, including a plaque describing the scene when he walks in the Long Bar from CS, which the Vic had back then. I’ll look a bit deeper into that. Cheers bud 👍🏻
