SO... One Piece. The One Piece brainrot is real, and it has taken over. I can't stop drawing Luffy every day, please send help (don't)
Anyways hahahaha I had a lot of fun working on this one, it's a pretty different look to usual, if you could say that I have a usual. Sorry to not be posting dragons again, I'm afraid my next vid might not be dragons either (it'll probably be part 27 for this MAP, but I'll try post something in between).
I attempted to make each frame look somewhat rendered, and it's meant to be kindof feverdreamish with those first few frames (I have no idea what I was doing)
In the end it was an enjoyable experience to animate, so Thanks BluJae for hosting this MAP and allowing me another part!

Hey sketch, I was wondering if you could maybe do a tutorial on how to animate smoke/fire/ water, because you seem to be very experienced at it. Are there any online tutorials that you recommend for people like me to use?
I've been thinking a lot lately about how I'd like to make tutorials. I've been really busy with life but when I have time I'd love to make some- as for now though, I recommend simply watching a lot and a lot of videos of professional smoke and effect animations, watching a plethora of youtube tutorials, watching real footage of things, and at the same time, attempting to animate a bunch of them. Being able to animate effects takes intuition and the logic of physics. You dont need to take physics, but its important to consider some of those basic properties when animating effects. Like transfer of energy! make sure that everything you animate has an intention, that is one great way to improve any animation. If you can say exactly why you had the smoke speed up at a certain part or slow down, or maybe it moves a certain way- you should be able to explain why you chose to animate it that way. So basically, when animating effects, try to plan them out a lot first. Think about what is causing the effect, how the energy moves, and if there are outside factors you wanna consider (like wind)!

first I made a detailed sketch, then I did lineless colouring, and then went over the whole thing with a textured brush frame by frame to get that fuzzy effect! and thankyou!
