    10:18 They also kind of invert the generation's theme of past vs future in an interesting way. The sleek, metallic, more intelligent looking one is a sword fighter. Where as the more technically advanced one looks more like a brutish beast.

    • @QuantumWaltz
      @QuantumWaltz 2 года назад +31

      Inverted AND played straight, honestly. Early guns like arquebuses were brutish weapons, pretty rudimentary. They harnessed the basic principle behind a gun [expanding gas shoves small weight forward very fast] and not much else. Conversely, rapiers came along very LATE in the lifespan of swords used as viable weapons, and were expensive, highly-refined pieces of technology that required practice and training to use effectively. In the (relatively) brief period of time where firearms and blades overlapped as common combat-dominating weapons of choice, the gun was primitive and clunky, while the sword was elegant and advanced.

    For Kyarrbon and Barrel Blast, I'm imagining it having a new ability where it takes half damage from all 'explosive moves' (Self Destruct, Explosion, Misty Explosion, etc) and as for Barrel Blast, maybe the first time you use it, it acts like Boomburst where it attacks everyone on the field, but also damages Kyarrbon for 1/4th of it's max HP (losing your tail hurts), then it goes into its "No Tail Form" and Barrel Blast becomes a move like Bullet Seed where it's a multi-hit attack. Maybe have the first version be Physical and the second be Special.

    • @wolfiemuse
      @wolfiemuse 2 года назад +17

      Or a really cool (although admittedly not super competitively viable but neither is yours aha) alternate idea would be that if an explosive move is used on it, because Kyarrbon would also explode if something exploded near him, the Pokémon who uses an explosive move on him receives damage equivalent to 25% of their total HP. It wouldn’t be super useful if it was just explosive moves though. Maybe if any Fire-type damaging move or explosion-based move is used on it? That would be cool.

      OR HOW ABOUT THIS
      I have a quite complex idea for Kyarrbon
      It's a Rock/Steel type with high attack and really physical defensive, pretty simple right? But i have something to make this interesting...
      Its signature move *Barrel Blast* is a really strong Physical Attack, but it has some kind of cooldown which makes it can only be used 4 turns after it's used
      It's ability is called Exploded Armor, the effect is "When Kyarrbon use its signature *Barrel Blast* its type changed to Rock/Fire and Swapping its High Attack stats with its Special Attack and It's Defense with Special Defense and when the Cooldown of *Barrel Blast* is over its change its typing to Rock/Steel and swapped the Special attack to its Attack and Special defense to its Defense"
      Why its heppening? Well what I had in mind is.. When Kyarrbon use Barrel Blast, its broke his armor and the barrel tail which is why its loses the Steel type and makes its attack and defense low. But while it's happening, the fire inside it Burns up and makes new armor made of heat and his Rifle like tail is ready to shot some hot flames to its opponent, which is why its Special defense and Special attack are raising, replacing its very high Defense and Attack... But after 4 turns its armor came back(idk why its happening, but i think it's balancing Kyarrbon, no?) And makes Kyarrbon gaining back its steel type and get rid of its fire type

    For reference sake, the Spanish word for a rapier is an "Estoque" with "Estocada" being the word for the traditional frontal stab.

  • @spacecatalienbin2553
    @spacecatalienbin2553 2 года назад +1

    If they go the route of one fossil per version, I feel that the Scarlet fossil should be normal (maybe not rock type, since it'd be more accurate to the past), while the Violet fossil could be a blue print from the future, detailing a robotic pokemon that we can recreate.
    I feel this could be worked into the treasure hunt really well. In Scarlet we must find multiple fragments of the pokemon to make it more accurate, and in Violet we must either collect pieces of the blueprint, or of the pokemon itself.

    I had an alternative idea for Ornamean's Ability: Riposte (a return thrust in fencing). When a move targets and misses the Pokemon, it makes a riposte against the attacker, dealing 33% of the attacker's max HP.
    As for Barrel Blast, I was thinking of it being a 150 base power Fire type move with 100 accuracy, but after the first use its base power is halved. It only regains its original power after Kyarrbon faints and is revived (or when the battle ends obv).

      Is this a good Idea?

    Another Iberian fossils, that we haven't seen as pokemon, are the Barionix (with 4 species known in the Iberian peninsula) being a piscivorous dinosaur, it could be also inspired by the submarine, the inventor of the first modern submarine was a Spanish scientist, Isaac Peral (I also think that we should look more into non-weapon related inventions for more Pokémons) it should be Rock/Water and learn electric moves or Rock/Electric and learn water moves (as the Peral Submarine was the first fully electric submarine). it could be called Subperyx (submarine + Peral + Barionyx)
    for the second fossil, there are a bunch of interesting looking Iberian prehistoric animals, such as the Concavenator, but I think a cool one could be the Iberomesornix (Ibero meaning that it comes form the Iberian peninsula), a very small prehistoric bird from the cretacic, it could be a Rock/Fairy that learns flying moves (the precursor of the Helicopter, the "Autogiro" or "Girocoptero" was also invented by a Spaniard, Juan de la Cierva) so we could have a submarine pokemon and a "proto-helicopter" one

    Love the video and these are two example of my favorite types of diosaurs! I have already created head cannon for themñ
    Kyarbon is stereo typically slow and beefy, but is signature move would be a moderately high powered physical attack, and when the barrel part smashes off, and the tail-gun is revealed, it sharply lowers physical attack and sharply buffs special attack, this way, it could be a surprise mixed attacker if it wanted to.
    Then for the other fossil, Ornamean, gets an signature move that is moderately powered, but raises special defense and physical defense 1 stage every turn, playing into the cloak and dagger theme. It would be be fast and kinda frail (not sneasle frail though), so a couple of turns with this move and maybe a sitrus berry or with a healer in doubles would make this a threat.

And those are Swords dances, so that's like Plus 2 attack every time you switch in, NOT TO MENTION GETTING A KILL. Since another pokemon, Cyclizar got revealed to have a signature move, which essentially switches out to another pokemon for free, via substitute. Get a free switch with the lizard, and then switch into the funny bird, and you got a W. Even If it was slow it would still be able to dismantle a team pretty easily, especially if scarfed. Especially if it one shots. Though if this is a Rampardos situation then maybe he is balanced. Dang it Lockstin! Why do you keep making pokemon that I want in the official games so badly?!

    I was thinking a pair of fossil Pokémon that'd be especially interesting for Scarlet and Violet. A mammoth and a saber-tooth cat. I was thinking another similar past and future aspect of them, the mammoth line is like a Roman legionnaire (dark red fur, bronze plates for armor with like a mohawk that looks like a Roman helmet thing; it's typing being rock/steel) and the saber-tooth line is like a barbarian (covered in bone armor and stripes that resemble war-paint, just overall looking very savage; maybe its typing is rock/dark or rock/ice, the ice referencing like barbarians or invaders from the north), an older example of past versus future. Also, we don't really have Pokémon based on either mammoths or saber-tooth cats. We have ones loosely based on them or features of them like Mamoswine, we have ones based on elephants, tigers, lions, big cats, etc., but nothing directly based on either a mammoth or a saber-tooth cat, and also there's nothing that says we can't have multiple Pokémon based on the same creature.

Story behind it would be that it used a similar tactic to take down other Prehistoric Pokémon!
    The Name I suggest is *Ornaestoc* - switching out the 'mean' aspect for the word *'Estoc',* the Spanish word for the type of Sword or Rapier used in the practice of Spanish Bullfighting.

    150 Base Power
    95 Accuracy

    Makes contact
    Triggers Powder
    This attack Burns the user upon use, regardless of their Fire typing. If used by a Burned Pokémon, the move no longer makes contact.
    The Base Power wouldn't decrease here due to Burn reducing Physical attack power. The Burn also simulates being damaged by the attack after it was used, but without giving it recoil. There could also be some interesting strategies here by typing it to whether or not there's a burn.
    Also, I'd like to request that Kyarbaron learns Shell Trap, Powder, and Explosion because that would be cool.
