The music was a key element in this fantastic series. The best ever drama series in television history. Of course, David Janssen perfectly embodied "The Fugitive."
Oh my God this music is so beautiful. 😭😭I was 7 years old. I remember playing sick to stay home to see them catch the one arm man that killed David Kimble’s wife. That David Janessen was so handsome.
This music brings back so many memories. Watching this show weekly on Tuesday nights back in the 1960s. It was must see television. Oh, the spirited conversations me and my friends would have the next day. A great show with a superb star and many great stories. The show always left me feeling melancholy for Richard Kimble, at show's end, him always having to re-locate somewhere else. No rest for the weary.
Great intros and great music from some of these 1960's television shows. The Fugitive, Mannix, Hawaii Five-O and Mission Impossible to name just a few.
Thank you for this, awesome music, awesome man, David Jannsen is a legend. Watching the re runs in UK, wonderful guest stars and Barry Morse, omg I can never get enough!👅💕
6:22-7:10 I love the heavy trumpets, puts me of all of those times when Gerard came extremely close to capturing Kimble. Or when Kimble see the one armed man but somthing stands in his way of finally getting him
I Remember Richard Harris stating that he was devastated as we all were at the passing of David jansen as he and Richard were neighbours and very good friends
Mr. Rugolo's soundtrack was truly a main character in these episodes. According to Mr. Morse, Rugolo laid the tracks of his excellent theme and beautiful variations in one recording session, then music director Wilhoit applied tracks to scenes. Amazing collaboration.
This is the best, loudest, clearest song of the closing theme 8:23 I can find...... Gunna see ow good it is for phone ringtone. The trumpets should override the shopping centre noise, and it gives me the feelin of getup an go!......... The Fugitive, Hawaiian Eye and Columbo are the only crime series that I watch....... Good stories, I don't need to see as many people killed in most despicable ways....... But, to each their own, said the lady, as she kissed her cow.
To clarify I like your comment and knowledge regarding The Fugitive and not Dr Sam Sheppard 🤣😂 which in itself was a whole story in itself. Interesting and twisted history and “career” after the murder of his wife.
David Janssen and the music scores MADE this show !! One of the BEST ALL TIME dramas !!!
Back when Television Programs had....FULL ORCHESTRAS....
And MEMORABLE REAL MUSIC.....
Yes indeed! Creativity in music was st its peak and the investments paid off with quality.

Of all the melodies this is my favorite,
we could define it as:
_The Triumph of the Day_ 08:08
Love that kicked in the ass back beat!
I wish I had this theme music to play in Orchestra - it's so strong and powerful. Awesome!!
This and the Big Valley had the best music ever written for a tv show in the 1960's..so emotional and expressive. Is this music still available?
I Remember Richard Harris stating that he was devastated as we all were at the passing of David jansen as he and Richard were neighbours and very good friends
Terrific Shows growing up in the sixties always something on most nights to watch television is not the same today
In reality that would be a hard road to travel .and never ending battle.

Dr. Sam Sheppard was the real life inspiration for Dr. Richard Kimble.

Bill Raish played the one armed man
