You made important point Juells about phone numbers, especially for people traveling…I didn’t think about it before, but what happens if your phone messes up, it gets lost or stolen, and you can’t remember anyone’s number, and there is emergency…I think it’s critical to have the top 5 most important numbers written down on paper in the wallet. It’s also important to have an emergency card in the wallet…that way if something happens to me the medical staff or whomever, will know who to call on my behalf. If I am in a bad wreck, say in a cab or something, and I’m unconscious, nobody will have a clue who to call….things like this most of us don’t think about, we just focus on the trip and having fun

Hi Juells My 33 year old daughter came here to the Philippines last month, to the island of Bohol, and we took a trip to Siargao because my daughter and husband both like to surf and while we were there my daughter ate some chicken intestines and got sick but did recover before going back to the US but after a few days she began to feel sick and began to feel weak and within a few days she couldn't walk or lift her arms. she also began having issues with her throat and found it very difficult to swallow and couldn't control her throat muscles and choked every time she tried to eat. The doctors were all scratching their heads even after taking a spinal tap. Turns out she has GBS as you did and she has been treated now and is now on the road to recovery in rehab. She still can't walk yet but she is improving everyday. My daughter is on a video of the vlogger family "Off Grid Island Family" and is Jenny and is 1/2 Filipina but you would never know. We are Journey with our miracle premmie family.
Juells, get this. I live about 25 minute walk one way from Waltermart. Before that is a pet food dealer. And a fruit - veggie stand ran by a friend. And I walk. Almost daily for something. Keep on keeping on

If we lost internet we would be in serious trouble. How would we get money ? Banks and atms need the internet. I suggest we keep at least 3 months income stashed in cash and at least $2,000 in USD. That would give you enough to live gor a while and if it looks like the internet is nit coming back for a while, you will have enough php to buy a plane ride home and the USD will give you money after you land. The government will get the bank up and running before all else except maybe military application for communications if they are affected.
What is this “talking” and “family time” you’re mentioning? 🤔 🤣😂 We are establishing this within our household… but it’s taking a little longer to get my 14-year-old Step-Daughter to put down her phone! But we’re working on it.. When we get a final destination to live (we’re STILL scouting!), we’ll probably get Starlink 🤞But not while we’re still on a short-term (6 months) lease in a condo.
