Whats Up Everybody, Welcome Back!
This was a phenomenal ride, I last rode here in 1996 for the UCI DH World Championships and have wanted to come back here for another ride ever since and I am so glad that I made it happen as these trails are nothing but the best.
World Class in fact, and a title backed by 3x World Championships and a World Cup all held here on this Rainforest Mountainside.
I see no real point going into too much detail here as im certain the video highlights everything that makes this trail network what it is, some of the best rainforest you will ever have the pleasure of riding through and most importantly some of the finest variety of fast, tech trails that take you from high speed flow into aggressive braking drops to railing berms without the need to reach for the brakes.
Smithfield MTB Trails did not and will never disappoint any rider of any skill levels ever, if you have been contemplating riding here then all I can say is WHY HAVENT YOU?
Also a big shout out to Vince at Edge Cycleworks for loaning me his own personal Rocky Mountain Powerplay, this bike rode flawlessly, I only used app 60% of the battery and was seriously impressed with the torque and responsive yet controlled build up of power.
Thanks for coming along for this ride, I truly hope you enjoyed this one and I will catch you on the next.

Feeling a bit home sick after watching your vid, big thumbs up.

Good video Craig! There's so much more to ride at Smithfield - Whiskers, Happys, Croc Slide, Rodeo, Cadells, you should definitely come back. Then you've got Atherton bike park up the mountain! I ride a hardtail on those trails so I get nowhere near the speed you do..

The trails are insane, fast, flowy, tech and simple all while deep in rainforest. I’m going again soon for sure.

Hey Fuzz, June is probably thee best time to come here, that will be our winter and Cairns in winter is nice, not hot and not cold, also it’s past the rainy season so a good chance it will be dry as well.
I can’t recall all the trail names but there is some kid friendly trails, check out all the Green trails there in Trailforks.
You will Enjoy it a heap.

OK lets put the “Editing” aspect aside so I can say that I think this just may be the best Ride Guide I’ve done So Far... Insane trails, insane weather and a sensational bike taking me exactly where I want to go... This was simply put a flawless few hours riding and I am already planning my next ride here.... Looks like an awesome place. Question? How did you fly an E-bike to Cairns? I would love to do some travelling, but heard you can't take ebikes on planes, due to their batteries
Hey Stuart, as mentioned at the start I borrowed the eBike from a local shop.
I didn’t want to use an analogue bike up there and yes correct you can’t fly eBike battery’s so renting was definitely the best option. It’s a great place to ride if you can get there.

@@stuartpilling6190 all good mate, the best thing about eBikes today is the demo accessibility through most dealers so hiring one is not hard no matter where you go...
Had a blast riding Smithfield recently. Had Pack and Send freight my Levo battery from Sydney to Cairns - cost $85. Then packed bike into an Albek bike bag & checked into oversized with Qantas. Was so good having my own bike up there 👍
These trails look amazing Craig. A trip up north might have to be on the cards at some stage soon. I hear there’s some stuff in Townsville and Rockhampton also that are quality.
Ezz the trip will not dissapoint, Douglas trails in Townsville are supposed to be crazy good too..
Hey Ezz. Met you and Aiden at Daisy hill that day. Townsville is awesome, just ask Aiden. Ridden Douglas mtb park twice. Great place.

those jumps have been there for ages they just fixed them up
There is a massive jump line off to the right that has been there fir decades, I thought this line was fresh, they had a big grand opening session under lights just weeks before I was there.
