Appreciate the comment and the important measurement was to make sure the two carpeted bunks were the proper distance apart to have the kayak sit flat. Then as you suggested, it was just a matter of moving the kayak back or forward so the weight was balanced. I did end up putting a cross brace on the frame just to stiffen it up a little as well.
@@MasterCrowOutdoors Haha OOPS, sorry Matt! As far as the knee, I'm going to test it out Friday, heading up to the Sierra's to look for some Goshawk nests. 😄🎥👌
@@MasterCrowOutdoors Most of the searching is done driving in the truck, when a parent Goshawk is spotted, then the search for their nest requires walking. Can't wait Matt!
Super video bro, liked everything apart from the hand winch swapped that idea for a cheap 80€ 600kg electric winch, but the frame to fit too the canoe is perfect thanks 👍 I did find the bit where you wind it up funny 😂glad it was speeded up😂😂
I was curious about the trolling with the old town kayak. What kind of rod holders do you use and do you use the stock plastic gear track from old town?
Nice design. I’ve got a tandem Feel Free Lure that’s around 115 with seats, and you’re right; there are no off the shelf lifts that I felt would do the job. What type of knot did you use with the 7/16th rope?
The knot tying is not my strong suit, but I think they're half hitches. Just tied a few of them so it held. So far so good. I did add a cross brace to the frame to stiffen it up a bit as well. Holding up great after more than a year!
Yes there's been lots of thoughts about an electric winch, but just never got around to it. I did one update to the hoist and that was cross bracing to the bunks. Stiffened it up quite a bit.
Hi friend as I told you, in the end of the year I will be there, and a pretend to buy a kayak, what advice do you have to me, I'm a bug guy 1 hundred kg.
There are several kayak stores in and around Moncton. I like the fishing kayak that you peddle to keep your hands free. Oldtown is a good name and I would look at those models
@@MasterCrowOutdoors Thanks sir, I'm Brazilian and last month I got a job offer to go to Moncton to work and I'm so happy, but I was a little bit concerned about fishing wich is my favorite hobby, I live in the north of Brazil in the middle of Amazon Forest and here we have many rivers and lakes to fishing, here you can find some monster fishes, I hope find some friends to fishing when I arrived there, thanks sir.
*Hail, Thanks* so much! 🇺🇸 Pulley Systems, one of next life's knowledge.
Glad we could help out!
Great Video and design. Was it trial and error to determine where to fit the kayak on the frame so it is balanced?

Thank you sir I’m going to use your advice for my hobie lynx for ceiling. 😊
Annytime my friend and as an FYI, I did add a cross brace to stiffen it up a bit more. Still going strong and zero damage to the yak!
I'm sure mrs. Crow's *Maserati* fits in there perfectly, good job Matt.
😄🚘🚣👌
Hey Mike, might have to delete this comment? Mrs Crow sees it and she'll want that Maserati!!! Hope the recovery is coming along and stay safe!

Glad it helped and the hand whinch is a pain compared to an electric one!

Great set up.
Thanks Trevor! I'm not very handy, but was able to put this one together! LOL!!!
Amazing set up here mate, how good is this, just what the doctor ordered.
Yes sir and at the right price!

just got an old town predator 13, this system seems like a winner. any thoughts on a quicker wench system, perhaps even one that is automated?

Petty simple, but it will easily do the job!
