This is a very good, balanced review of the course. Seems a steep priced for what you actually get. It's important to know what's lacking as well as what's there. It's pretty on par with named courses I've taken, especially online courses. They are so often just a bunch of pre-recorded videos with no feedback, just banking on the creator's name. The same goes for paid forums, I haven't found them useful because the named organizers are never there, it's just other forum members who may or may not engage with you.
I also took the course and loved the first part. Going out and developing an idea/story from the existing things around. However, the approach in the second part was too similar for me. I would have rather expected that we learn how to approach the development in a more planning/dramaturgical way. But overall I learned a lot in the course and it was fun ...
Take a look at some other review for sure, I totally got out of the course what I wanted, i do feel like some people might of hoped for more though. I’d say dedicate a few days of the weeks to at least film and edit, especially for the second video, the first film can be done in 1/2 days as that’s the point, but make sure you have those days free, when you get behind the peer 2 peer feedback starts to become redundant. Take a look around though, and see what other people thought
Hey George, I just want to say that I really liked the two videos you made for the course! The first has two things I really missed (music when running and completing/drinking the smoothie!) but the second one feels like a proper, well-made interesting story! Thanks for this review and all the best!
Thank you very much for your feedback. I saw these class online and I was curious to see what it was like. Not that i’m into filmmaking (I jut watch films and videos :-) but I love pretty much the «Casey style» and I would have been interested to see only his creative process (an online class without the technique, maybe). Too bad the implication of Neisat was not there. I could have been interesting for him to share with «students». I think the saddest part of your video is the absence of connections with peers. People can learn so much from each others, especially if you can put words on your like or dislike. It take a bit of diplomacy but it can be fulfilling for everyone. Cheers from Canada!
Very interesting points. I think I do agree for the most part. I know I was busy with work/job and wish I had more time to spend on the projects. I too enjoyed the course and found it helpful.
I agree, I enjoyed the course and got out of it what I was looking for, I’m not sure it was marketed in the right way, I just think the structure could of been slightly better
You had a good description of your experience! But... Your title is misleading as I still need to take the class of I want to know how he comes up with his ideas. You did not save me that time as your title let's on. Although I got information I would have like to know you should have titled it (review) just a suggestion.

Thanks for the review, this is super helpful! I am a big fan of Casey and was also thinking about taking this course, but just too busy right now.
