  • Making a black locust flatbow. No commentary version of my build along video from couple of weeks ago. Really love this bow. It draws 40-45 lb at 28". Black locust is one of my fave bow woods for sure.

    Question though, what do you use for sealing your bows?

      Thank you sir! On this one I used water based varnish. Sometimes I use linseed oil

  • @notapplicable531
    @notapplicable531 2 года назад +1

    I assume that hide glue is water based the same as the fish-bladder glue used in making Korean horn bows. So how do you deal with not having the handle become sticky when your hands are sweaty?

    • @DreamcraftBows
      @DreamcraftBows  2 года назад

      I apply the water varnish on the top of the handle and works fine

    Hi I have an important question arc length usually starts from a few inches to a few inches. Also the diameter of the middle tip and the handle and its width? You can share a drawing or image

    Well done, I would rather see a wooden mallet used to drive the hatchet though. A steel hammer can cause chips and peening.

    Why would you even bother to build a bow with that low of a pull ...??

    • @dustinhoffman9843
      @dustinhoffman9843 5 месяцев назад

      Because with traditional archery you don't need a lot of draw weight to drive a heavy arrow with a sharp broadhead through most game you're gonna hunt.
