As a long time U2 fan - at least 40 years - I’m extremely partial and bias to any band doing a remake. Bono and the boys are a classic whiskey that doesn’t need any additive or sweetener. That being said, it’s pretty rare that a remake could actually touch the soul in a different, dare I say more powerful way than this one. This arrangement, the harmonies, the build up, holy crap, it’s so moving it brought tears to my eyes. Tuning out the world and letting it settle into my bones…. So powerful! Well done!
Killers, Snow Patrol and Nine Inch Nails are some of my favorite bands, but the Depeche Mode cover of "So Cruel" is the best thing to come out of all of this. Absolutely incredible.
Baseline is pretty epic. It's been a while since I last heard this song, but this has just reminded me how underrated the majority of Acthung baby, though it is a stellar album. Great cover.

Love the Killers, and just U2's minded forever. This version sounds good, in exact Killers' style. Notwithstanding the fact that The Edge is not there with his magic riff guitar which gives "ultraviolet" what's exactly the song is about... multilevels of achievement. Each instrument becomes just fundamental. Bono's voice is just beauty, transmit pain, anger, quest for sth and more to be said... still we can talk about a very nice cover, but never can reach the BEAUTY of the original!
I respect U2 completely and this has always been my favorite song on what I believe to be their best album but man, Brandon Flowers voice does this perfect justice. Not to mention the lyrical content and style of the song fit that of the Killers wonderfully. Props to Bono for writing such an incredible song but props to Brandon and the Killers for perfecting it. If this is any indicator of the type of music the Killers have coming, I am most excited.

Everyone needs to lay off The Killers, both versions of this song are very different but you can tell that each band puts huge amounts of work into every song they do, and I love both versions. The Killers obviously have the respect of U2, Bono has had Flowers on stage with him, and the Killers contribute a Christmas song each year to Bono's Product Red campaign. Lets stop discussing who is better between these two amazing bands and just enjoy the music!
Never knew this existed. Love it. Sounds a bit like Life on Mars in the intro and builds to an ending that sounds like a Joshua Tree version of Ulta Violet.

I'm a huge fan u2 and I like very much orginal version and I think this cover is amazing. Both songs are beautiful, sounds different and that make it more beautiful.
This is good stuff. Once in a while a cover comes along that is even better than the original. No disrespect to U2--great band!--but this is one of those times. Way to rock it, Killers!

This is such a powerful song, the writing is all BONO, and he can hit the higher notes but Brandon is absolutely BRILLIANT! Gotta get this CD ~~
