  • Featuring an intense theme mixed with fun double-stop passages, the strong melodic material for lower strings and a beautifully haunting middle section that sounds like a Hollywood soundtrack are special highlights. This piece captures the imagination of students while giving directors several possibilities for technical and musical instruction. Print music available from kendormusic.com.

When I hear music, I get a kind of video in my head that plays with the music. This one is of a village where the people's shadows come to life in the moonlight, and while some run around partying, some get together with the one they love to dance before they have to go back to their respective owners, apart for the whole day. The shadows can only leave once their masters are asleep though.

so we started working on this and we have planned to fade the lights out as we play that repeat at the end 7 times fading each time
by the time the light go dark, they're to turn off entirely and the orchestras to leave. (not yet choreographed)

I just wanted to say that the cello motif at 4:16 is probably one of my favorite pieces of music altogether- the upper strings driving the cellos to dig in and having them respond almost like some sort of rallying call or war cry is really cinematic. The higher octave with the cellos at 4:20 is almost like a shout to me and the height of all the accumulated tension from the entire piece. I don't usually comment on these sorts of things when i notice them but it is so picturesque i couldn't imagine not sharing my appreciation for this specific part

Does he have something against violin players by any chance? Because this part is crazy on the violin. Brilliant, but crazy.
