Love this! Especially the way you teach Ry's Rhythm playing along with the slide;not only does it give you a better understanding of the song, but Cooders rhythm playing is beautiful and sooooooo underrated. Can you do some more please?
Great feel. Smooth. Nice finesse (especially with the glass. your vibrato is very good - not too shaky/fast, and not too slow. tight, yet relaxed.) Excellent sense of timing too. You've got it.
Nice! What's the guitar setup? I just got my guitars strung up with new strings, new stands and I'm ready to go - recently retired. I have a Supro lap steel and a Squire Strat. Is that a Teisco pickup at the neck and a lap steel bridge pickup. Did you do this yourself? You sure have the Ry tone.
Thankyou Robert , Yes a 60s teisco in front Lollar in bridge ..bit of trial and error in build got some help in the end...picking the right neck made a difference, fat and wide at the nut worked for me
Correct - capo 2nd fret , could be played in open E tuning and avoid capo all together - The lesson and TABs I created are written as if it was in E tuning... Really depends on your guitar and setup... Open E tuning is a good tuning to get started on if you have only 1 guitar say set up with regular strings (10-46 ) as you are tuning some strings up you might get enough tension on the strings to play some slide , however 11-49 my preferred gauge for open E Tuning... Guitar action, string gauge and weight of the slide important before you even get to the technique..only my opinion though...
A very special tune for my wife and I...we saw Ry perform this back in the early 80s...beautifully played....👍👍
Thankyou Frank , must have been a great show !

Close like Ry , but enough space to call the tone and sound yours brother . Much respects. Sounds awesome. 💫👽💫
Thankyou for those kind words Blues Man, Ry doesn't play a lot of notes but he sure makes em count ..
My ears a bad... I assume slide is in open D, and is rhythm as well?
