I used to live in Bures, and fished the mill pool every Sunday during the season. This was back in the 80's, and the part around the weir itself was NEVER accessible. It was private and out of bounds to the public. The deck was there way back in the 80's too, and was used as a fishing platform originally. The fence was always there behind it too. I fished that whole stretch from the rec all the way past the weir to the farm up near Wormingford. This brings back memories.
