@Raymond Carver I had the same experience with his August album. I had met him in New Orleans at the start of that tour then saw him up front and center in Cali a month later. Needless to say I was hooked for life and Journeyman was the icing on the cake.
Saw him during this tour in Indy...concert started with the piano intro from Pretending, all dark...the bang, spotlight on Clapton in a white linen suit with the opening riff - unbelievably spiritual moment.
If I'm not mistaken , Phil Collins was the drummer . I know he was the drummer on one of his & producer . He did play for Clapton at Live Aide and other concerts he did .
❤ great reaction!! Also a good song from the same album is "Before you accuse me (take a look at yourself)" Eric does this song with Robert Cray on this album. Robert Cray has a cleaner guitar tone so you know its him and not Eric. Erics tone is clean but its got the slightest bit of overdrive to it. Journeyman is a great Album. Robert Cray is on many cuts. It's also the album I went to that summer as my girlfriend of 2 years broke my itty bitty lil college heart! Lol. Played OLD LOVE, till the cassette tape was transparent. ! 😅
Eric Clapton did a album with the late b.b. King back in the early 2000's late 90s it's really good like this type of music I think you like it both men are legends
