Well it makes economic sense when the Tories say farming is not an important part of the UK economy. The service sector provides around 80% of our income.
So Jacob Rees-Mogg is right when he says we could just buy in food from abroad. Further more, the UK literally cannot feed itself. To be self-sufficient in food, we would have to get the UK population down to 30m or so.
