Going to piss off some people by saying this but It's true. The best security professionals are those with a computer science background. If you really want to get the best out of journey in cybersecurity, study computer science.

He is wrong about degree does not matter. When I was awarded my cybersecurity degree, thats when my email inbox started to become overloaded with employment opportunities. You also do not need a CS degree or experience as CS degree's are mainly for making programs.
One more thing is Linked is a great networking needs as thats where I was contacted by many recruiters and was hired by a company that supports the federal government. Still working and really enjoying my job!
Colin, have you worked this field or have you only read magazines? Please give accurate answers to your YourTube audience!!

What’s the best route for a cyber security analyst I’m currently debating on going to school for this or getting my certifications I want to go to school but I feel like it’s a waste and getting certifications like security + seems faster how should I approach this.

Get a cert and start working

im graduating this may with a bachelor of science Cyber Security. I am pretty nervous about it because I kind of feel lost. I have a job as a Jr.network engineer. I havent had any money to pay for certifications. Iv done all the labs passed all my classes. I just have no idea how I'm going to land a job as a Cyber Security Analyst. Where should I start? I'm literally the first class graduating from this program. Will my experience as a Jr.Network Engineer role + my degree be able to land me a entry level job as a secuirty analyst? I just have no idea where I'm going :/
