Seraph is an Agent from the Paradise Matrix, who was initially saved from deletion by the Merovingian, but when he learned of his true evil intentions, he went with the Oracle to protect her. This is why his code glows golden, Seraphim are one of the choirs of angels in Christian myth, and the Agents from that Matrix were basically just that, angels.
The Twins are Agents from the Nightmare Matrix, where everyone's fears became manifest in an attempt to use terror to control them. They're also known as the Ghosts (for obvious reasons), and took up with the Merovingian after that Matrix failed to also avoid deletion.
The Merovingian is theorized to be an operating system from the very beginnings of the Matrix, older than most of the other programs including the Oracle, who chose to separate himself from the overall goals of the Machines in order to build his own power structure inside the Matrix, essentially acting as a leader of a crime syndicate. He is powerful and has many, many connections and assets, making him a very large threat to anyone seeking to upset the status quo.
Smith has been disconnected from the control protocols of the Matrix and is essentially a Rogue Agent. When Neo 'destroyed' him, his code wasn't deleted, but reconstituted. instead of returning to the Source as he should have, Smith chose to go into exile and ended up becoming a virus due to his newfound freedom from the system. He couldn't transfer from bluepill to bluepill anymore like other Agents, but he gained the ability to infect others and create copies of himself. This was also how he was able to copy his program onto Bane's brain patterns and then using an exit to essentially take over Bane's physical body. Ironic how he became the very thing he accused humans of being; a virus.
Neo is able to sense the Sentinels coming in the real world and then cause them to self-destruct because he is still wirelessly connected to the Matrix due to rejecting the Architect's choice for him in order to save Trinity, thus his Prime Program was not reinserted back into the Matrix code (which would have rebooted it, and he would have selected a couple dozen people to rebuild the 'new' Zion). So he's still connected in reality to an extent, but obviously collapses as the effort needed to do so is too much for flesh and blood.
He was also able to save Trinity because again, from the first film, he understands that everything in the Matrix is code. That's not her real body, and neither is his hand his real hand, so he can just reach in and remove the code that is the bullet without any problem.
As to the Matrix itself: it has an inherent instability in its coding that is caused by humans' unconscious need for choice; ultimately a choice to either reject the reality of the Matrix or accept it. The first two Matrices failed because this was not understood by the Machines; The Oracle, an intuitive program, discovered the cause, and a system was implemented where 99% of all humans accepted the program. The remaining 1% were 'allowed' to unjack from the Matrix and 'discover' Zion (built for them by the Machines) to assist them in pulling more problem humans out of the Matrix. After a while, however, the system needs to be rebooted in order to maintain viability, so the Oracle gives the prospective One (someone empathetic to humans) a cookie with the coding for the Prime Program in it (the Merovingian shows how code can be transferred via food in the Matrix with that cake scene). Once he accesses the the transfer point and meets the Architect, he is once again given a choice: to return the Prime Program to the Source and reboot the system, choosing a few dozen humans to repopulate Zion, or he can go back into the Matrix for whatever reason. This iteration of the One however had fallen in love, which the Machines had not accounted for, and so he irrationally chose to save Trinity over Zion, which causes a cascading system failure in the Matrix (more on that in the final film).

I agree with Justin, I loved the highway scene. That whole mansion fight flowing into the highway chase is one of my favorite action set pieces of all time. And yeah the agent smiths vs neo couldve been shorter for sure, mainly when they started adding wacky sound effects and cgi.
Theory has it that the goofy sound effects are the Matrix trying and failing to add realistic sounds to scenarios it has not encountered but which resemble ones it has.

I agree, but I really missed those 60's/70's/80's cars they showed/used in the first Matrix flick. How cool would that highway chase scene have been if they were using those ole' Lincoln Continental's and Crown Vic's?
The reason Tank wasn't in Reloaded comes down to money, and the fact he threatened to kill the Wachowski sisters, for which he was arrested for.

I do still enjoy Reloaded due to the action and stuntwork. I also thought that the revelation that Zion was never free and is regularly destroyed and repopulated is a nice twist.
I say my biggest complaints are:
1) Lot of new characters are introduced but most of their introductions are rushed and yet come Revolutions we’re supposed to remember them and care about them.
2) As Cinemasins pointed out, some of the fights are wasted opportunities. Neo’s chateau fight for example is impressive but has no real suspense because Neo’s never in real danger. Had he fought the Ghost Twins instead that would have been an engaging fight because he’s not used to fighting someone with these powers and he’d have to get creative with his own powers to defeat them. IMO he should have fought them while Morpheus and Trinity fight the others
You're right.
I also believe another problem is that the movie is too clean, especially during the fight scenes. In the Matrix, the fights were gritty and dirty, also when people are hit, it does feel like there is real impact. In Reloaded, fights are going on and, as you note, there is never any sense that there is any danger. Even in Morpheus' fight on the truck, it doesn't really look like a fight.
I can't believe I never thought about this, but Neo fighting the twins would have introduced high stakes. Worth noting that a bunch of the Merovingians lackies are exiles from the nightmare Matrix so a bunch of them should have had powers and they could have used that too. They probably felt it would be too messy to have all these random characters suddenly dumping weird powers without forced cringe exposition Morpheus saying "Ah these must be nightmare exiles, from the Matrix where demons and vampires and ghouls used to roam"
Sexy rave was a criminal waste of time. Could spend that time establishing other threads of the story.

All pod born humans have mechanical implants. When Neo went to the source his connection was activated. This is why he felt sentinals. He could've tamed, reprogrammed and control them if he wanted.

I can't be the first person to realize this, but I personally have not seen it stated. Neo is both an anagram for One, as well as meaning New. Neo is not just the One, he is the New One.

Neo has powers outside of the Matrix because he's connected to the source through WiFi. He gained that ability after his meeting with the Architect. Remember that the Architect told Neo that his consciousness had been altered. All of the humans born inside of the Matrix are half human half machine hybrids. Remember that in the first Matrix movie Morpheus says that humans are no longer born, they are grown. I think that when Neo brought Trinity back to life the Anomalies code was written onto her just like it was written onto Smith, which is why we see her in the forth movie and why she appears to have the powers of the One in that movie

I don't care what anyone says, this has always been my favorite Matrix film. The first movie did an amazing job setting up this world, but this movies we're full on in it, and it turns everything up to 11 and expands the lore so much. Plus the movie feels more confident in it's action. Plus I love that Neo has fully embraced his role, and doesn't hold back.

When Neo stopped the Sentinels outside of the Matrix made me think the "Real World" is just another level of the Matrix as a part of the fail safe to deal with those that don't accept the Matrix.
I'm bad too with directions. Went from work to go to another of our store locations south and went the opposite direction. I was called and asked where I was cause I should have been there by now. I said I was in downtown Cleveland instead of at the Southpark Mall. Did that several times before I found were I was going wrong.

Hey guys, the one percent anomaly includes Zion. Neo is the one who possesses the full potential of those who seek feedom. There are small parts of our planet, where the laws of physics work differently. Those areas would be considered anomalous.
26:45 , really good analyse of the Castle and BodyGuards of Merovingian and the twins are the ghosts. Old programs from old version of the Matrix keep in alive by Merovingian. Maybe they were old version of "Agent" that the Machine deleted when they created a new version of the Matrix. I'd be good to see the Merovingian again in Matrix 4. Persephone is from the Grek Mythologie, the wife of Hades.
The Oracle isn't another system of control she just wants them to make the decision for themselves they need to find out on their own and then make those choices just like when she told Neo that he wasn't the one so he had to make his own decisions which led him to becoming the one
i always like the idea that the leader of zion, the Seraph (oracle bodyguard) the merovingian were both previous incarnations of the matrix that had survived previous iterations of the matrix. The leader being from the Utopia version, Seraph from some lost version and the merovingian was from the medieval version

Great reaction and fun to watch with you. One think I would like to point out is at around 8:23 you mention the kid who bent the spoon was a girl. This is not the case. That was Rowan Witt and it was a boy. A boy who does look an awful lot like the kid neo saved. Not saying it is but I could def see it being possible. Anyways. Great reaction and thanks for posting.

I'm mad at myself with all the jesus refernces they put on Neo I feel so dumb for not realizing that with Zion being the last human city and in the bible its a salvation place I get now why they had the huge party scene which people complain about but it makes sense, and with Neo being the chosen one like how Clark kent became superman in smallville at the end I like the philosiphy stuff he was told and stuff about having to make hard choices for everyone of the human race. This movie has some of my fave fight scenes too Keeanu is so good even now with John wick and such I still belive that John wick is just neo in the matrix lol

now for the real rabbit hole, no one, I repeat, no one got out of the matrix.
We get the most important information, in the first iteration of the matrix everything was perfect, the earth is a paradise - the effect? - people are going crazy and dying, they can't live in such conditions. so what needs to be done? an imperfect world where you fight for happiness but some people still feel unfulfilled, so what do machines do?
In our imperfect world there is a mystery to be discovered, you can reveal the truth by "coming out of artificial reality". That's why Trynities, crying "I love you" in the "real world", influences events in the matrix, the agent can transfer to "reality", the Keymaster knows what he needs to know, the Oracle sees the future, Neo kills Sentinels using his power even though he is not connected to the matrix. Everyone is still in the simulation.
