@@darkmantis69 I was born '85 in Croatia. First heard about them 2003 and was devastated that such a good band break up. 2008 after they reunited my first airplane trip ever was to their Brixton concert. Such amazing band
I started listening this band very recently, I can not believe how extraordinary they are, I can not believe either why I had not heard about them and because they are not as massive as they should be. They have a long list of songs that reach your soul, deep and existential. Today we hear a lot of disposable aesthetic products. At least I can say that "James" exists and the good music, although devalued by the masses, prevails and subsists for those of us who really love music. Thanks "James", I met you late, but it was worth it. :)
Welcome to one of my favourite bands of all time. I grew up listening to James and I will leave this earth listening to James. So glad you discovered the band!!
The whole millionaires album was on repeat when I was going through a long term Relationship breakup. This song gave me lots of strength. Thanks guys. x
You made this comment 11 years ago and I am JUST NOW learning about this group because of a post on Facebook. I am glad I finally learned about them. They have amazing music. I love their sound and do not understand why I have never head of them here in the US.
Paul Bryson i keep returning to james and i hardly ever listen to oasis , inspiral carpets etc....that tells me james have made better music...if music survives the test of time then that means its done its job
why have I only discovered this gem in 2018??????. I never got into james back in the day.. as a 46yr old I've just discovered the best band ever. What the hell have I been doing for the last 30yrs😂
Same. If I knew how wonderful they were back in the 90’s when I was a teen, I may have become a completely different person. No regrets! I have James now and they are transforming me and opening my mind and heart to the Wonderful each and every day now!
This band is brilliant, never got the top plaudits but good because they never lost their direction. So many great songs, I am aching for the grave, that's ok, we're insured.
I played this song to my dear friend mere days before he died. He hadn't even had a seizure yet, but for some reason I knew he was going to die soon. It was very sobering looking back. I miss you so much James xxx He was the LOVE of my LIFE and I miss him forever, my baby. 💔
A few people in the comments saying they want it played at their funeral but the song is not about missing people they like - rather ‘missing’ people they don’t.
The sheer love people have for tim is incredible. At a live gig I attended last week, he stood up on the barrier and the security tried to hold him, he got down, told them to back off and got back up and all the hands of the crowd stretched forward and held his legs and hand and kept him stable and safe. Incredible
"Forgiveness divine. Revenge is more human." Fucking hell, Tim Booth is such a lyrical genius. I love this track so much. In some ways I think a strange song to play at a funeral because isn't this song about revenge and doing harm to someone who has wronged you?
Alan Robinson that's certainly true I've seen them twice in a small northern English town called Carlisle. The first was just after "sit down" was released. The second was when they were at the height of their popularity and they had no need to go out of their way and play a small city like Carlisle. Both were epic concerts but quite different. One of my favourite bands ever. Many of their songs capture the memories and emotions of the times i first heard them. Such amazing lyrical and melodic talent and such an amazing live act. I love you James!
I first got into this band in 1991 with Sit Down. Still into this band here in 2023. Saw this live at South Facing/Crystal Palace a few months back. They keep producing absolute bangers after all this time. So underrated, a bloody great band.
More than 20 years following this band, this songs, the concerts...and just today I discover this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!! Deeper and deeper in love with the band and with Tim Both. Thanks!!!!
Curiosamente me pasó lo mismo, la escuché una sola vez y es de mis favoritas, sin dejar de lado que mi inglés es casi nulo, simplemente sentí la melodía ❤
I just rediscovered James. This song was the first one of theirs that caught me, I was 13. It's like finding a beautiful old gift from long ago. Been listening to them for nearly 4 days solid now.
according to the Fresh as a Daisy dvd, they were actually hypnotized during the shooting of this video... just gives it bonus points for being so awesome!
I keep coming back to this one, the 2nd james video I ever saw, it hooked me as a forever fan. The poetry and music have lasted through the test of time's fads and rituals, proving talent will survive. ♪♪♪

Every track they have done is stunning. What an amazing band. Saw them live once in Manchester...OMG incredible. No other band has ever made me feel the way these guys can with every single track. Thanks James for getting me through the 90's.
With James, you don't just get original lyrics, and great musicianship, you get a great dollop of melody that has you singing along, and your finger hovering over the replay button. Pure class.
Come back release...Hey ma...a track GUARANTEED! to get this band ignored, they must have known this and just didn't give a fuck what any one but their fans thought...mad integrity in this day n age, lucky to have shared the planet with these guys.x
I had no idea that this song was by James. I loved James back in their Born of Frustration days. Years later I always wanted to know what song was played in my favorite Trigger Happy TV skit of the giant pigeon in the square. What a different tone this song has when not accompanying scenes of a giant pigeon attacking a man on Trigger Happy TV 😂 It's brilliant either way.

James has a way of pulling emotion out of you in every song they produce. Very uplifting
What a brilliant 'feel good' song. James don't write songs, they write bloody anthems.

Completely agree. The only one that’s gonna miss them when they are gone is THEIR REFLECTION in the mirror.
The band that specialised in delivering anthemic songs. The Kinks of the 90's
This song sounds like an hymn. It surely could be sung in a stadium playing with a team relegated to a lesser division.

I'd still have it at mine. I certainly have a serpent's tongue. Reckon I'll be remembered for that 😊
Legendary song, so much nostalgia.
