It's not true that you have to roll in order to get your full blue belt. There is no sparring or rolling for any student until after they finish the Combative course and start blue belt stripe 1. If you complete the combatives program remotely and test for it online by sending in your video taped exam and you pass, then you get what they call a "technical blue belt". if you want to have the full, official blue belt, then you need to go to a Certified Training Center and do the exam live with a certified instructor.
Gracie University sells them, but they no longer sell the actual DVDs. If you want them, you may want to check outside sources or look for used DVDs online.
I have this box set too. There is a lot of misunderstanding with the Gracie Combatives and Gracie University. This GC is the *first* set of skills you need to know/learn how to do to defend yourself against fighting an *untrained* attacker. Once you master this first set of skills your in the *beginner* blue belt phase. That's it. I believe this is correct. A blue belt is someone can defend themselves against an untrained opponent. Nothing more nothing less. You know how to do a rear naked choke, a triangle choke, an arm bar, the Americana, and the Kimura. That is the minimum submissions you should know as a blue belt and I believe that is reasonable and realistic and that is taught in the Gracie Combatives. Remember this is the beginner phase of blue not a seasoned blue belt.

Thank you for sharing that information.
Thanks for the review!! I agree.. many times it's better then the teachers that I see at school near me.
Thanks for watching!
I have this box-set as well, and agree with you on it's value. I like that the focus is more on realistic self defense rather than sport jiu-jitsu.
I agree that its focus on self-defense is a great strong point. Thank you for sharing!
They are not selling the DVD set anymore. I wish I had gotten it back then when I was contemplating...
