I haven't finished this video yet but I had to comment on how fucking gorgeous the animations are Seriously whoever worked on this needs a raise and has all my respect
Joseph Connolly wow, I completely agree. I'm still stunned by the beauty of the animations, the music, the narration, as well as the calming overall message. In it's totality overwhelmingly touching. Thank you all from 'School of Life'!
Don't get me wrong the card sets look really interesting, but I would rather support this channel through Patreon because there maybe 90% goes to the creator, where when I buy stuff from the shop, the shipping cost is 50% of the product value (with tax). And also Patreon is a much more stable income source. For the Patreons it is set and forget. You don't have to constantly think "Oh my, better buy new stuff to keep this channel going".
many thanks! the art is fantastic! gluttony is the one that brings about the other 6 sins? too much salt=wrath too much fat = sloth too much protein= lust too much saccharine=the remaining sins! greed, pride, envy, usually a result of lack of common sense due to effects of all that sugar in diet! freud&lacan sublimation also can help us see how many of our behavior is a by product re directing our libido & instinct into better activities? still , sin(theo) or destructive behaviour is deeper and lot more complex of an issue ..
So lemme get this straight Pride: You show off because you feel like the world ignored. Envy: You just think you’re imperfect and need to improve. Wrath: You’re angry because you feel threatened or scares. Gluttony: You starve for love. Lust: You’re lonely. Sloth: You’re afraid of to try something out of Humiliation or injury. Greed: You feel so neglected and desperate so you go after anything as fast as possible.
This is what I need. Not someone saying "You'll go to hell for that you know", just somebody who will actually help me. I don't need someone to tell me that I am a horrible person and that I will burn in hell for not doing anything. Thank you.
Spongebob is about the seven deadly sins: Spongebob: Lust He loves everyone around him. (By meaning that he always have love for other people and never hates them) Squidward: Warth He is very mean in almost every episode Patrick: Sloth He is lazy everyday. Mr. Krab: Greed He wants all the money. Plankton: Envy He is jealous of mr. Krabs wealth Sandy: Pride She boast and talks about how she is a mammal and how she lives in Texas. Lastly, Gary: Gluttony He eats a lot. Btw this is not my conspiracy. Someone else made this :)
King Sombra Agreed. I just wish it didn't involve stoning, and burning, and needless death, and divine judgment, and plagues, and slavery, and burning, and lies, and incest, and genital mutilation, and burning, and condemnation, and...did I forget to mention burning?
Pride: I feel invisible. Envy: a graceless way to learn. Roth: I'm angry and scared. Gluteny: emotionally starving. Lust: I'm lonely. Sloth: fear of taking a risk. Greed: feeling neglected. Edit: (2 years later) gluttony and wrath, not Gluten and Roth 🤭 Sorry about the spelling mistakes. Loved the funny comments pointing that out, though 😂

@@sila8849 every human being is a sinner, sin being an inevitable outcome of a fallible human nature. No matter how righteous a person is, he may at times disobey God through ignorance or forgetfulness. The Qur'an teaches that God does not hold us responsible for what others did before we were born, and no innocent person would carry the guilt of another . This coincides with our own sense of justice. So no one considers it right to blame children for the sins of their ancestors, or to punish the innocent so that the guilty may go free. So, what we obtain from incident of adam and eve is not original sin, but original forgiveness, and an original lesson on how to seek that forgiveness. God set the precedent that He will forgive those who turn to Him in sincere repentance. We will all find ourselves in a similar situation as Adam and Eve. I hope my comment will help you what the meaning of the sins

I pray you got the help you needed. Replace your faults with passions. Build purpose in your passions. Find Jesus in your life to explify your purpose. Jesus is the way, the life, the truth (John 14:6) . Maybe you're not religious. Just start with the first, loving yourself through your passions.
We are evil and good, we're different people being different is okay, Everybody make mistakes. We are going to die anyway, we chose one to live and we chose one to die
You are unique, and you are loved. We are all imperfect. *I need so much help too!! Let's pray for each other -- and let's also take small, realistic, and consistent steps toward improving ourselves and the world around us.
You need fasting. Fasting once per week helps us to combat Gluttony especially on Friday, where our Lord never eats anything and He also die for our sins. Believe me, it's hard. Even if I'm not a glutton myself, it's too extreme for me. That's why you should try water and bread fasting for beginners.
@@annabelle_xoxx I’m a Christian and for me that means nothing more or less than that there is a powerful entity looking out for me and all the people regardless of their beliefs and all this entity wants in return is for us to be good and take care of each other. Looking at the comments, I’m wondering if we all just watched the same video about acceptance or not. It doesn’t matter who you are; this is a beautiful, gracious piece that people worked hard to research and assemble and your takeaway is “Yeah but I’m an atheist” and “God’s final judgement is true”? This isn’t about your religious beliefs. Stop attacking each other for being Christian, Atheist, or anything else. You’re just hurting each other and adding more hate to a hateful world in the comments of a video that teaches us that our rage, greed, and envy only means we seek compassion. I am aware the comment sections are usually toxic, but really. Can we just agree to not bash religions or the non-religious for their faith or lack thereof? Maybe we’ll burn in Hell. Maybe we wont. Maybe God is real. Maybe He isn’t. But if He is, He’s not liking all this hatred, and if He isn’t, then nobody, almighty being or not, is enjoying this.
Why would youtube comments be any different than any other platform of expression? It would seem that speaking out about bad ideas is not limited by where it is done. It's also a bit presumptuous to say that: "nobody, almighty being or not, is enjoying this" because we do not know what everybody thinks on this subject. I, for one, enjoy discussing ideas that may be controversial because it motivates me to consider why I think what I think.
I'm an atheist, but I wanted to learn about the seven sins for a drawing I'm working on, but when it got to Gluttony, I stopped drawing. I'm a gluttonous person, and I'm overweight. I've been trying to stop eating as much and working out more but it's a slow process. When it talked about Gluttony, it made me feel better about myself. It made me feel less gross. So, thank you. Thank you for uploading this and teaching others. This video was surprisingly uplifting and has rewatch value, at least to me.
@@persevere12 I believe at one time ppl were sheltered, full of group think and living in small groups/communities -- ignorant maybe -- it is easier to judge others and point to their immoral flaws to make one feel better about themself, not realizing they are judging......I've always felt we aren't here to point out others flaws, but to recognize our own and how they can hinder us from reaching our full potential
It depends on how lazy you are, you can just have lazy tendencies like oversleeping and minor stuff like that. But there are some people (me) who are too lazy to study, do homeworks and practice anything, which just shows how pathetic I am
@@jennycustovic1280 Its not pathetic. Find a passion that you vividly WANT to do and maybe it would help. Try to have a different outlook on things. Instead of "I need to clean my room." think of it as "I need to decorate my room." think of what you can do when ur room is all cleaned up. Then, when u r done, stop. Watch TV, sleep, read a book, enjoy urself. Then the next day, do another room. relax. Maybe the next day, do 2 rooms if u feel like it. Before you know it, your house is cleaned. ^-^
This has given me so much insight into my life and what I am doing wrong. Now I can start working on my wrongs and hopefully change this bad luck that seems to be everywhere I go.
This is beautifully done. It is important to know & understand that these sins do not make you inherently "bad", but each one can prevent us from living a full life or reaching our full potential 💜
There's a huge misunderstanding of the Christian theology at this point. Sinning doesn't make one a "bad" person. There is a widespread saying "hate the sin, love the sinner", so no one should merely judge others for their trespasses, but rather lovingly help those who experience difficulties
ÖRLOGSKAPTEN #MAKERUclipsGREATAGAIN well, maybe they we're not actually christians. Remember that God forgives everyone. And God loves everyone. Jesus went to the house of a thief and helped him, he saved a prostitute. There are no exceptions.
Although I'm an atheist, it's fascinating to think how aspects of Christian morality such as the seven deadly sins have underpinned the values of Western society for so long. I agree that we need to adapt these explanations and rules as our understanding increases, but it's crazy to think where we'd still be if these ideas never came into being.
Christianity is just a creation of men. If it has good ideas of worth then men will preserve them but if the ideas prove to be not useful they will be left to the history books. Unfortunately what is useful to powerful people does not always line up with what is good for your well being.
As what I have learned in myself. The Seven deadly sins are not actually sins. Heck even Jesus comitted wrath in the bible. The seven deadly sins are just the natural tendency of feelings that exists within a human and the consequence of being a human. But they are called sins because they are the emotions that tends to cause us to commit sins but they themselves are not sins. You can became angry at something but if you just do nothing about it, that's not a sin. It only becomes a sin if you do something bad due to it (i.e. Stabbing your neighbor due to your wrath)
I mean we all have purpose in this world and watching anime all of your life is not what it is isn't it, if your not doing your porpose like sharing the word of God and yourjust doing nothing that's not really an accomplishment isn't it? I mean eating is not a sin but being selfish is when you eat thank God you have food and think about the people starving because they don't save food and if your just eating like an animal now that's just you know a sin.
Naledi Jojo we all have more then one sin because we are all made of greed we just Lust for things we cant have. PS this was a little defficult because i,m from Denmark and dyslexic.
Envy is my favorite sin. There's something so mysterious and personal about it. It's a destructive force that slowly eats you from the inside. You can feel the pain as it reminds you of your pathetic life.
because we all tend to compare ourself to others and when we do, we see the other end as the superior one, and sometimes, by feeling so inferior can turn envy to wrath or slot all sins will sooner or later return you to Pride or Slot
Guuci Eyebags, Correction, Nobody helped the lazy person, because it is there own fault and need to learn to help themselves, the greedy person was offered help but was unable to trust enough in order to receive help from the person, likely from fear they will steal the wealth they are hoarding, so you really cannot help them until they turn over a new leaf like Ebeneezer Scrooge did in A Christmas Carol!
@@bambimayhay It means that Greed is a form of mental illness, whereby the person always needs to seek more in order to feel safe, it's a disease really. The more you have the more you need to protect it , therefore you no longer trust anyone and so try to purchase always more insurance and security to try to feel safe. It is generally a false sense of security that drives greed I think and there is help ,they simply trust less so do not seek help, you do not really think you need help when rolling in the deep, likely also it can be an egocentric problem, like Donald Trump Syndrome haha/
@Bobby Allen I know this is kind of stupid of me to ask, but what do you mean by "spiritually lazy"? Is it like, skipping church or choosing to do other stuff than to thank the Lord?
There is a saviour Jesus Christ He died for your sins so that your sins would be washed away and be forgiven so I asked you today come to the gentle saviour who ever is reading this, God still loves you ❤️
As a christian I'm really glad that people can see and understand such concepts by taking them out of whatever twisted meanings they had during the medieval church period. What God really wants to do is not punish you for your sins (this is a huge misconception) , no beacuse sin is a sickness and God offers to heal you, love you and make you feel accepted so that you will be free from the rule of sin.
Edward Schtuph I don't see it this way. God saves us from ourselves.. He made us and he created us and yet he wanted to give us free will. He did not want to make us into robots. He wanted us to freely love him. Separation from God through chronic sinful life leads to insanity and it leads to our ultimate doom and destruction. When we said it's not that we're sinning against God we're also sinning ir hurting ourselves and our own bodies our own minds. We're deliberately choosing a way to slowly destroy ourselves. God is saying you have a way out of this thinking. But it's up to you to choose it. God is trying to teach us a righteous life because our Humanity will seek to destroy all that is beautiful and made by him. Once you actually recognize your sin you see how filthy it is. And you will do anything to stay away from that lifestyle again. You will run and hide from it. You will not put yourself into temptation. As a child you had no control over what you saw or how you were raised.... and you might have made mistakes because of it as an adult, but once you see the light you can't Turn Back to Darkness. It weighs on you it's heavy. It disgusts you. You must free yourself from it. Knowing and loving God frees you from that heaviness of sin from that dark path. The path of destruction leads to a doomed eternity. I do not believe humans are made without evil in them. I believe everyone has a choice. When you choose to please yourself and only yourself most people won't want to be around you. God takes us out of ourselves that's why he gives us children even. Because once you have a child you give up your life for them. You're not concerned about your own needs but you are concerned about theirs. You don't want to do anything to embarrass that child or hurt them. When parents live promiscuous Lifestyles it is embarrassing to the child. Money is not the answer character is. Authentic love and Good values are gold. I got to get to work have a great day..make it a great Tuesday!
markj6700 -- If God said 2+2=5, he should have the humility to except other's corrections, and if he commanded you to kill your family, you might actually just have paranoid schizophrenia. Look, if you're not into religion, fine. I have friends who are atheists I get along pretty well with them. But some need the missing encouragement, hope and optimism religion is able to give. Others, like me, just understand that there is more to this universe than meets the eye. Although, my philosophy has been that the best person in the world is an atheist who selflessly commits good deeds and remains positive in every aspect of his or her life. The point is that it isn't cool to do what you did. People point fingers at christians for being intolerant, whether it be towards gays or atheists. While that may be true to some, those people pointing their fingers shouldn't excuse themselves of such actions as well. Such as yourself.
Heryck Curioso there is always going to be problems like these in the world. It’s near impossible to get rid of these evil and bad traits from society. While I do not support witch hunting people with these traits, I do say it’s wise to seek help for them. That’s the most we can do humanely. But in the end, we will never get rid of the ugly traits in the world no matter how hard we try, it will always exist. That’s just reality as there are a bunch of other factors that go into these traits like mental illness, personal tragedies (witness to murder: wanting revenge - wrath, for example), corruption of the mine (greed and pride are the easiest way to corrupt the mind), and human nature isn’t very easy to recondition, once something starts it’ll likely set roots into your personality and mind forever.
Heryck Curioso To bad this world doesn't use more common since to behave like this without religon. Just have better morals. But it's "Feel Will" that let's us act up. Kind of confusing don't you think? Given 2 sets of rules. Do what you want and then again break these rules and it's bad.

Jarrod Aruseanoex Jarrod Aruseanoex You can still look at these even if your not religious. Yes you may have committed one of these In your life, no ones perfect, that's why it says in the Bible that all sins are forgiven. I think the main point is that if you keep doing any of these sins without wanting to change it or get help on trying to change, then that's not human nature. You can be not religious and still use this as a moral compass.
Because envy I think it's motivation for me something I can't have but I will work for it But you looks at the pictures correctly one leads to another look if you are greedy means you are envy too in order to achieve a goal you must be greedy and it isn't bad If you are not misleading others thus envy will lead to pride being successful then leads to gluttony because you will be having lots of money and different food thus not exercising and having lust then wreath because something you can't achieve makes you vengeful so the true teaching is kinda wrong I will follow Buddha ways better he said be happy that's all it takes I think being myself is the best I can do being a perfectionist but it will come a cost happiness and love are some of the things I can't not have because humans gonna be human and I'm gonna let a damm god tell me that I can't be the best me I can be so guys just be yourselves if someone doesn't like you find someone else get it now off you be
As an Atheist, I always love to see these good hearted and nurturing takes from religion. Too often I see people using their religion as justification for their own hate. But as you just demonstrated, religion (in this case Christianity) isn't for punishing humans for their faults but to rather helo them life a more fulfilling life. To teach them how to be better. This is so refreshing and nice.

All these 7 sins can be resolved in true love. As New Testament teaches, all these 7 sins are symptoms of lack of love, in which can be solved through the love from Jesus Pride - we don’t need to boast anymore as Jesus loves you without you needing to boast Envy- you don’t need to feel jealous as you’ve received the greatest gift, everlasting life and the Lord himself Wrath - you don’t need to feel angry as you realise the Lord has been always patient with you despite your mistakes Greed- you don’t feel greedy as you see the true value in the heavenly realm promised by God Gluttony - your cravings are replaced by the joy of the Holy Spirit filling your heart daily. Lust - you don’t lust after sexual pleasure or material things as you realise how valuable you are and gain respect for yourself and others. You start to realise Jesus has given his life so you can live for more than just earthly satisfaction

Fun Fact: Seven deadly sins were supposed to be a summary of all the sins in the bible; almost like categories but people took it to mean that these sins are greater than the others. All things deemed as sin in the Christan Bible falls under one or more of these categories
Yet another great example where simple symbolism get's wrongly understood. It seem to be too hard for commoners to understand symbolic meanings smh. The whole Bible is filled with metaphors and such, but people take everything literal
Friend: THE SEVEN DEADLY SIN? . . . . . . . . . . . . ME: Lion's sin of PRIDE: ESCANOR Dragon's sin of WRATH: MELIODAS Serpent's sin of ENVY: DIANE Boar's sin of GLUTTONY: MERLIN Goat's sin of LUST: GOWTHER Grizzly's sin of SLOTH;HARLEQUIN Fox's sin of GREED: BAN
I think the 7deadly sins are hell itself all of it in some ways traps/imprisons us and nothing good really happens to the person affected by it. But by realising what sins does to us we can break free from its control but this time not to fear it but to accept that it is apart of us. Next the 7 heavenly Virtues?
I was thinking the same thing. This integrates motive action and punishment by sin. The sin looks like the punishment. It reminds me of Dante's Inferno except it's more concise.
A raven embracing a sphere of darkness, love your profile pic... Also I believe each sin becomes it's virtue, to reward those capable of overcoming it. And that these are vices to be confronted, rather than avoided.
Arata Senpai 7 deadly sins are for sure a way to bring us hell, but also you even thought they are bad you need to have them little in your life, what life would it be without any pride in yourself ? or in any other sins, if you didnt had anvy it could mean that you are not interested in something at all(it depends of what), sometimes when someone attacks you with "wrath" its better to defend with it too, like if someone is bullying you, he will continue doing it no matter how good you are to him, if you show him that you are not easy to be touched he willl let you go. Gluttony, it also depends of what, ofc money or stuff like that, anyway you need to control this one. Lust, well you rly dont need this one xD. Sloth, just think if you are never lazy about something ? It could be good yes, but that would also mean that you would do everything and you need rest, idk if you can understand what i am trying to say, but with out it i think we wouldnt mind getting tired and stuff like that and it would be bad for our health, we need to rest. Freed, everyone is greedy in some way and me personally, my life would be little better if i was more greedy in my life, without greed you share alot and to not have greed would be good, but not in this world, just look how people are, if you were not greedy for something it could show that you are not interested in something even if you are or something like that. Anyway i know i said some nonsence here, but we mostly need this sins, even little but ofc it depends of situation, just dont take my comment wrong.
Okay, but I'm still a sloth. Four years of procrastination haven't made my fear of doing nothing strong enough to trump my laziness, it's just made me feel guilty and depressed about my lack of productivity. Its strange because I do want to do things, and I'm not actually lazy once I am... Just at starting them, and figuring out how to start, so I'm left in constant nothingness and dammit I feel so guilty lol
sarangARMY Dance cover Ugh, it's the worst isn't it. Even when you finally get motivated and do what you want to do, once you wind down you are back at the start and then have to wind yourself back up again.
Having faith you are improvable and that no work you do is ever in vain. helps. Whatever work you do, do it for yourself. I literally tell myself that everyday. Sloth is my sin I battle. So far believing those words got me drawing everyday I learned to love what I make no matter how miniscule or shoddy it looks. I have improved the most since I have I started believing in myself and stopped caring for a certain standard that sort of pressure only comes to paralyze.
Beautiful video, but seems that the underlying motives for the seven sins have been wholly misunderstood in this video. For example "envy" is defined more as admiration, which it is not. Perhaps people can be taught to rethink the negative envy into admiration or motivation but they are not the same thing. The idea behind the seven deadly sins is that you are putting you immediate wants, selfish interest before others (or God). Every single sin has as a foundation a focus on the self in opposition to others. One of the first interpretations of "sin" was putting yourself before God.
I think the main difference between envy and admiration is what you do with the feeling... Admiration is when you see someone who has something you don't and you think "I'll become like that person and have that", envy is when you see that person and thinks "I hope that person loses that and becomes like me". I guess it's a matter of whether you think the world owns you anything or not, whether you feel like you're the one responsible for what you do or don't have.
Javier Pena I agree. Defanging sin by insisting it's all just misunderstood pain only works to absolve people of responsibility for their actions. He also seems to be working from an assumption that there is no such thing as malevolence or destructive and evil impulses which exist on their own and don't always require an underlying cause.
Javier Pena i agree. the explanaitions given for this sins may be true in some situations but in others ithey couldn't be falser. The film was beautiful though
Maria Nunes pain may be a factor but I disagree that it is the foundation of all the sins. The more important foundation is selfishness. That foundation of selfishness causes the pain that leads to ultimate damage caused by sin.
This video makes it sound like sins are never our fault. 😂 Sometimes we want what we want... like gluttony or lust or laziness ... And that simply has to be controlled, not justified.
Sins are our fault and we know that, but he broke it down to why we actually did these sins, because there was something wrong inside of us that we could fix with love.
Yes i just realised that too.. Im trying to change but sometimes im just very lazy and i eat too much.. And I somtimes say things i shouldnt.. I did almost every sin multiple times im trying my best to change..

This has really helped me understand and be forgiving and more compassionate...even with understanding myself and things I do. i went down a big spiral of hate for many years and now I have some soul searching to do.
I can clearly see and say that *Jesus* was very kind to sinners and He was the perfect one to help them in their weakness for example:(John 8 :1-11) When the teachers of the law and the pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to him and they wanted to stone her but Jesus prevented them from doing so and when they were left alone (Jesus and the woman) Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” 💕 John 8 : 10-11 NIV -------------------- Jesus didn't condemn or threaten her with hell *INSTEAD* He gave her an open affection that welcomes her as she was, a forgiveness that doesn't involve criticism and a tenderness that delicately without humiliation locates our vulnerablities and set us free from our sins **Love you all💝💝💝
I believe that people used God as some sort of fear to control the masses. The real Jesus, was an enlightened average human being who understood the human psyche and made people realize how important their lives are. But I love the idea of a human Jesus. Not a Godly presence. The thing is Jesus said he wasn't just the son of God. He said we WERE ALL Sons and Daughters of God. But the Bible has been corrupted and had many authors throughout the years. The thing is, I'm open to all religions. I've researched Buddhism, Taoism, Greek Philosophy, Quantum Physics, and Psychology. I understand now. Who we truly are. We can all be Jesus. He isn't impossible to understand. But who is God? The greatest question answered by a monk. The miracle cannot be found up high in the air. The miracle can be found deep inside here (your heart). We have to search within.
I cried during this because the way he described Wrath Gluttony and Sloth it really brought out exactly how I feel. I am scared. I am missing something emotionally. I am lonely. I need something to fill the void. I don't want to fail and be laughed at. I just clicked on this video and expected nothing to resonate with me in such a way. this was very beautiful.
These are all natural emotions that practically everyone goes through during their growth. So even if you feel like you're alone in this, know that you're not. Admitting this to yourself was the bravest thing you could do, so congrats on taking that first step. Admit it to your loved ones, gather that support and keep working hard for your dreams! As long as you never give up, and work hard, you'll achieve everything you aspire to be/have! :)
Ozzlyana Castillo ACTUALLY Satan just means “The Adversary,” so even though Lucifer is probably YOUR Adversary, there could be an even BIGGER Adversary that truly deserves the title of Satan. Also, Lucifer and Satan are listed as two different entities when it comes to the Princes of Hell, which is who I am listing.
I just watched the seven princes of hell lol. Then I watched this cause I was hoping to get a bigger picture about the seven sins. I honestly love stuff like this. What I learned in Church class is somewhat different. In French, they aren't called the Deadly Sins, but the capital sins. Lots of people think they are called this way because they are the worst, but what I was told was that they were not the worst (gluttony or sloth aren't good, but hey you're not gonna kill someone for eating 3 slices of cheesecake), but that they were the sins that were the sources of all other sin. They were the capital, the head of sins, because all the others simply came out of them
Beautifully honest, astonishingly correct. Most of these are me, I want to be a better human being. But most of all, a better partner, and soon to be, father.
So that means, Anger, Sloth and greed are results of Fear. Pride and Envy are results of a bad personal Image. Gluttony and Lust are results of lack of affection. The only way to cure these is giving Genuine Love and Care. Just like in the Bible
en·vy /ˈenvē/ noun a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck. "she felt a twinge of envy for the people on board"
I don't agree with everything you say in a lot of your videos (quite honestly there are some things I guess I've just been programmed to be against and find inconceivable by my environment and upbringing) but I try to imagine a world where we all have that much insight and openness with regard to our feelings and others... I think to myself how beautiful it would be, if we could see beyond our and others actions. If we could try to help others when we see they are struggling emotionally and that they are carrying heavy burdens. How much pain would be avoided? How much loneliness and sadness could be erased? I can only imagine. I hope we can all learn to be a little more open and loving with one another. This one hit a little too close to home... Anyhow, keep up the good work!
It's the same for me, I always disagree with a lot of ideas they present in the videos, but I think it is actually intended like that, because they have already touched many topics that contradict themselves, but that's the best aspect of this channel, because it explores ideas, some that we don't normally analyze, that is why I always like to see what i would call their "essays". It really gives you perspective even if you don't agree with what is being said. It's a great way to open a discussion with yourself and question the reasons for you beliefs.
I understand Carlos. Sometimes you meet people who challenge your understanding nature and take advantage of your empathy to such an extent that you feel as though it's bad for your own survival to be that understanding of them. It's better to accept their evil and move away from them or banish them from our lives rather than reform them.
But of course for every incorrigible individual theres one out there that will genuinely improve with just a bit of understanding. so can't generalise. But those few psychopathic individuals with whom understanding and empathy is just counterproductive, do exist.
Dr.Science You hit the nail on the head there. I watch simply for perspective. I think, like I mentioned that we are all "programmed" (for lack of a better word) throughout our lives. This limits our view of things. I just want to learn what I can for as long as I'm here. That's the only way we can make decisions about our world, ourselves and our lives.
my moms a therapist and the word she uses for that is conditioning, it is the effect the environment we grew up in or currently live in has on our world view, it's really cool that you're so self aware that you noticed that most people are unaware of it
It must be added that pride does not pertain only to boasting, I would instead argue that the worst aspect of pride, and at the same time the one which causes people the most hard is the refusal to accept one's mistakes, pridefully demanding that we are always in the right, the denial of others and their opinions, thus considering ourselves to be perfect in almost any situation. Of course boasting is also prideful behavior, but the kind of pride I have described is certainly the one which harms people the most and often enough brings about the destruction of friendship and trust between us. :)
*Pride* and submissiveness/meekness *Envy* and selfless compersion *Wrath* and forgiving/pacifism *Glutton* and someone on an anorexic diet *Lust* and abstinence/castration *Greed* and sacrificial generosity _Of these three dispositions, then, two are vices - one of excess, the other of deficiency - and the third, the mean, is virtue._ Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics II: 1108b10-15
P A U L P A U L Aristotle could easily be a Deuteronomy of atheist. He advocated modest, which personally I think its the best way to leave. Helping other or leaving for other is no bad only if it doesn't one deprived from giving. Sorry for my English
I'm still on my way in deciphering Aristotle, unlike Plato and his peculiar ties to Athenian worship of Greek Gods, Aristotle never talked about gods and never paid tribute to them in his writings (I'm not sure if it's more than just his preference towards scientific approach, but I'm speculating maybe its because of his culture back in Stagira, although not so much is known about the culture of the place). So yes, just like what you said, Aristotle is more of a man of action and socializing with people (man is a political animal, and the best external goods a man can have are friends)

Don't get me wrong the card sets look really interesting, but I would rather support this channel through Patreon because there maybe 90% goes to the creator, where when I buy stuff from the shop, the shipping cost is 50% of the product value (with tax).
I NEED HELP

If we don't bash harmful and false ideas, then we are not supporting human growth.
Yeah, but in RUclips comments?
Why would youtube comments be any different than any other platform of expression? It would seem that speaking out about bad ideas is not limited by where it is done. It's also a bit presumptuous to say that: "nobody, almighty being or not, is enjoying this" because we do not know what everybody thinks on this subject.
Probably, because only the church, at those times have men aside from the elite people who are actually educated since they are literate.
You cannot be more accurate, believer or not, it is sky-clear that what we call today "Europe" has been shaped by Christianity for centuries.
Without God, Atheist has no punchline.

7. Greed - Intense selfish desire to acquire wealth, power, etc. (06:07)
Did you guys noticed that for all the sins, someone helped them escape them except for greed?
You’re right! Why is that? does that mean there’s no cure for greed? 🤔

Bassem Raafat preach it
Bassem Raafat you're right God sent his Son Jesus to save the world not condemn it
Bassem Raafat And also make you suffer for eternity if you even question how much he loves you.
This video is a life lesson that could take the world out of its misery.

Jarrod Aruseanoex no one is perfect
Yup but its up to us to fix these sins and when we do, thats when your spiritual join begins.
So if I do good deeds and help the weak but I have a lot of pride and envy do I go to hell ?
Because envy I think it's motivation for me something I can't have but I will work for it
But you looks at the pictures correctly one leads to another look if you are greedy means you are envy too in order to achieve a goal you must be greedy and it isn't bad If you are not misleading others thus envy will lead to pride being successful then leads to gluttony because you will be having lots of money and different food thus not exercising and having lust then wreath because something you can't achieve makes you vengeful so the true teaching is kinda wrong I will follow Buddha ways better he said be happy that's all it takes I think being myself is the best I can do being a perfectionist but it will come a cost happiness and love are some of the things I can't not have because humans gonna be human and I'm gonna let a damm god tell me that I can't be the best me I can be so guys just be yourselves if someone doesn't like you find someone else get it now off you be
As an Atheist, I always love to see these good hearted and nurturing takes from religion.

As New Testament teaches, all these 7 sins are symptoms of lack of love, in which can be solved through the love from Jesus
Pride - we don’t need to boast anymore as Jesus loves you without you needing to boast
Envy- you don’t need to feel jealous as you’ve received the greatest gift, everlasting life and the Lord himself
Wrath - you don’t need to feel angry as you realise the Lord has been always patient with you despite your mistakes
Greed- you don’t feel greedy as you see the true value in the heavenly realm promised by God
Gluttony - your cravings are replaced by the joy of the Holy Spirit filling your heart daily.
Lust - you don’t lust after sexual pleasure or material things as you realise how valuable you are and gain respect for yourself and others. You start to realise Jesus has given his life so you can live for more than just earthly satisfaction

Snuggles, malevolence and so on are increased, if not created, by misunderstood pain - that is the bottom line of the video.
Maria Nunes pain may be a factor but I disagree that it is the foundation of all the sins. The more important foundation is selfishness. That foundation of selfishness causes the pain that leads to ultimate damage caused by sin.
This video puts forward a beautiful understanding of human nature

I can clearly see and say that *Jesus* was very kind to sinners and He was the perfect one to help them in their weakness for example:(John 8 :1-11)
When the teachers of the law and the pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to him and they wanted to stone her but Jesus prevented them from doing so and when they were left alone (Jesus and the woman)
Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

John 8 : 10-11 NIV

Jesus was very Kind to sinners, unlike his DAD WHO PUNISHES SINNERS WITH AN ETERNITY OF PAIN AND SUFFERING

They were the capital, the head of sins, because all the others simply came out of them
Julien Thévenoz that's true. You must be a Catholic. So I'm I.
In Spanish, it is Pecados Capitales which is Capital Sins
That makes more sense.
Julien Thévenoz capital sins is the formal language for it. Protestants burrowed the concept and gave it another moniker called "deadly sins"

My thought exactly.
well fuckin said

Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics II: 1108b10-15
P A U L P A U L you're so fucking corny lmao
+El Buo I see that you're just a typical internet troll that has nothing intellectual to share other than overused insults like the word 'fuck.' Good luck with that. P. S. you're in *The School of Life's* videos, which centers on discussions of academic topics. It's ironic that such immature insult is coming from someone who has a youtube playlist with serious and high class classical music.
Aristotle also thought there were only four elements; Fire, Water, Earth and Air. talk about Ethnics lol
the school of life has drastically influenced my way of thinking and perceiving things. I would really like to one day thank the content writers and the voice of these videos in person. If it all goes well who knows may be I'll work at the coolest school I've ever come across!
The voice is actually the founder of The School of Life- Alain de Botton
And you're absolutely right by saying this channel has changed our ways of thinking and perceiving things.
I can't think these people enough.
