I loved seeing this whole process - in my ignorance I thought that an axe might be easier to forge than a knife, but it looks like a lot of work! Great job and thanks for another great video.
Brother, I love your work. There are only 2 problems, tho.... 1- I don't really have the money to buy one of those awesome works of art. And 2- Every time I do try, they are sold out.... oh, what a blessing to you and your family!!!! One day, GOD will work it out.... 🙏 blessing to you and your family, my friend!!! 😂
Glad I checked my email earlier, sent ya a question. But as fast as they were selling went a head and pulled the trigger. Really impressed with your drifting process, pleasure to watch you work.
I think I would enjoy carving with one of those, they look like awesome axes. theyre a great shape and the beard isnt so long it gets in the way but its a nice length to protect fingers when doing finer work and your hand is really choked up on the handle. Awesome process too, you have obviously refined that really well to get maximum use of your time. Thanks for sharing Tal
Excellent processes and great work. I made my daughter a Damascus hatchet some years ago when she was in scouts. She was the envy of her scout group, and she had no idea of how much work went into it... Props to you for the effort you put in, and for sharing many of the steps involved :)
It's a joy to get to see the whole process of how you put your axes together and I would like to own one of your axes at some point keep up the good work
Very nice! Do you ever do any throwing hatchets? I bought a cheap set a couple years and my son and daughter fell in love with them, we go out and throw regularly in the summer time. I always cut a few big cookies out of logs and set aside when I’m cutting firewood to use for targets. Great activity 👍
You have that batch work down pat. Makes for awesome repeatable consistency. I really love the taper dies you made for the press. I'm gonna have to make some myself. Honestly hadn't thought about press dies for that. Those are some amazing looking axes amigo. 👍🤝
I’m curious to see how the views do on this video. I was going to suggest putting ASMR in the description and just let the natural sounds do there thing. As i’m typing I see that this is exactly what you did lol. I don’t mind the talking, but for some reason the mass loves ASMR content🤷🏼♂️. I thought about making a video of simple hand forging a hunter with just a hammer and anvil. Maybe throw in the rhythm of hammer strikes, letting the hammer bounce on the anvil for hand resets. Like most farriers work. Light hammer with fast consistent strikes. But the only camera I have is my iPhone. I don’t think it will pick up the sounds as well.

That looks like a massive amount of work! Beautiful results. I did miss your usual, calm narration.
Dang those sure are nice. If I had the money I'd love to buy one.

Fascinating to see all the work and different techniques that went into the creation process

9:30 it sounds like your press is saying “chalupa chalupa chalupa”
You do such great work man! It's amazing how much time and effort you fit into this one video.
Thanks man!! I'm getting some good use out of your swage block so thanks again!
@@FireCreekForge Glad it to see it being used for more than a forge stand lol

Thank you sir, getting it closer to being dialed in..!
Nice hatchets, what happened to the Puccos ?
I'm slower than I always think I am! This hatchet batch was planned for a while, Puukkos will also be completed in time...
what are the flakes falling off when u squish it
That is forge scale; iron oxide that forms on the steel at high temperatures
I have made a hatchet from1095 but it was under direct direction of a blacksmith, at a welding college. so no bones gained there.

I like watching you work. THANKS. Are you really moving away from TEXAS?
Thank you! We're planning to move back to Idaho, yes.
@@FireCreekForge Texas will miss y'all.
@@butthedd0233 thank you
17:00 what kind of air thing is that? As a fellow beardface, I need one!
It's called the Resp-O-Rator, sadly they haven't been available for a while.
😊😊😊
Love watching you create your works, such incredible skill and craftsmanship. Very unique pieces, functional art.
Where are you getting that size 1060 stock?
Teinert steel in Lubbock is who sells it, but it comes from a mill in Seguin, Texas so I'm sure there's others distributers around the state.
What type of mask is that with the hose going behind your back?
Miller PAPR
Are these the same as the bushcraft\carving hatchets you have on your website?
Yep! I just got the email sent out...
@@FireCreekForge excellent!
@@FireCreekForge just placed my order.
@@bigunksworkshop786 awesome, thanks!
How can I buy one from you?
I would like to buy some quality drugs like those
