It’s the look he gives at 1:15 that made it click for me - it’s definitely the “I just lost my brand new Armani suit and didn’t even get a meal out of it” look
Try 44 and I happened to watch an old episode of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with Robert G. (Benson) on it as an used car salesman. I Googled the show Benson and saw Jerry Seinfeld's name pop up?!? 😮
That show served 2 purposes. 1st, it exposed the nation to an up & coming stand-up comic named Jerry Seinfeld. Then it was the blueprint for the ABC sitcom Mr. Belvedere.

So sad he didn't become the butt of Benson's jokes until the end of that show run!! They could have made that show legendary status to keep mocking that narcissitic Scienfield. He's horrible that Sceenfield guy.
Yeah, I can see why they kicked him off this show. Seinfeld definitely wasn’t ready yet. He’s annoying (I know… that’s the point of the character)… but Seinfeld was still terrible here.
Maybe because he didn't write his lines. Jerry has said that other than Benson (and when he hosted SNL) he either wrote, co-wrote or at least edited everything he said on TV or when appearing live.
@@simon5045 youre one of the lazy listeners then. Jerry is a certified comic genius. the jury came back on that a lonnnggggg time ago and the minority youtube anit-JS comments aint ever going to turn that opinion around. you are of course ,like the rest of ye , entitled to your wrong opinion.
Who's idea was it to turn one of the funniest comedians ever, into an "unfunny comedian"? Any actor could have read these bad jokes, they didn't need a real comedian. In fact, the actor who played Kenny Bania did a better job as the unfunny comedian. Thankfully the Benson gig didn't kill Jerry's career.
He was just starting out. If you did well on Carson, and were lucky, you got a chance on a TV series. This was his. It didn't work out, but fortunately another one did.
Benson was a spin off of Soap. The Benson character originally started off as a butler in the show Soap, then moved up to a Lieutenant Governor role in the spin off show Benson.
Never got a belly laugh from Seinfeld. He might have you think for second but no guttural laughs though. He just got lucky with the right producers at the right time. The 1990s was a satire of other decades
These jokes are gold, Frankie. Gold!

Frankie needs a mentor. Maybe Jerry is available.
.....after Frankie lost his courier job he moved to New York. We know the rest.

This is weird seeing Jerry on another show and not the main character
They all have to start somewhere
it's the way it should have always been. Sceenfield sucks.
and sucking.... he was probably thinking if I ever get my own show I need to remember NOT to act like Frankie
He was a young 26 year old.
So before Sienfeld Jerry was essentially Urkel
If he changed his name to Jerry and told a couple jokes about soup I could see him becoming the richest comidian in the world.

Omg.
LOL, that sounds like a show about nothing. Who would watch that?
pepper-in some airline bits, some "have you ever noticed..." and the odd superman reference, and I think you're on to something
Frankie: "What is up with these airplane peanuts?"
Benson: "That joke simply is not funny"
I watched Benson as a kid, i never knew Seinfeld was on it as a youngster
Youngster? He's 26 in this.
Seinfeld was cracking jokes on Benson. Then he hit the big time and went on to crack jokes in New York City.
I don't remember any of these people starring on Seinfeld so they should of been nicer .. how can anyone not like him
I like him.
Maybe some people don't like him. I could see it.
You mean to tell me that Seinfeld didn't look out for his fellow costars! Shocker! 😮
Wow, he's like a really undercooked egg here.
HAAHAHA
To this day American audiences cheer and chant the catch phrase “give a cheer, Frankie’s here” whenever Jerry Seinfeld walks into a room
Did you hear the one about the pope, a rabbi and Raquel Welch? "Those aren't buoys" 😅
He's a jokemaker.
Why do they call it Ovaltine?
They used the same outside of the house for fresh prince as well
😅. NBC was saving on budget costs!
His character Frankie is alot like Bania on Seinfeld. Except in the latter he Jerry played Benson like here.
You're just too old to get Bania, he's the voice of a new generation!
A new generation. My generation.
I was today’s years old ( 40) when I realized Seinfeld was on this show back in the day

I was expecting jazzy Jeff to be thrown out
I didn’t realize he was on Benson 😳
Good ole Frankie. Always looking to impress Benson and the Governor!
Fuck yeah, it's like you made this video just for me

Would Criminal Minds actor Matthew Gray Gubler be playing Frankie's son, Frankie Jr on "Benson"?
WhaAAaat's the deal with Frankie? He's neither Frank or to the point.
They really didn’t want Jerry to shine in this show, did they?
Benson said that he wasn't "Black", rather he was "Brown".
Whatever happened to that guy? Did he do anything else after this that people would know.

I wonder whatever happened to him?

Kramer but WAY OVER THE TOP.
