Yes I agree. Now the War verse is a bit shaky imo but the movies and shows in the early 2000s shit on the live action no action. Even the bad ones I still enjoyed. Hopefully Gunn looks at this and makes it similar but in his own way. If it fails give me an animated verse on the big screen like Spiderverse. Animated differently.

I think the DCAU is the easy winner for me in terms of overall quality and particularly the way the characters are written. It all starts with B:TAS and all comes together with JLU

Personally I think the best will always be *DCAU* because it truly told mature, compelling and thought provoking stories with fantastic arcs and incredible depictions of characters that even tend to surpass their comic counter parts.
I truly hope James Gunn brings in writers and executive producers of that universe to write or act as consultants for projects in the DCUs future
Sadly Dwayne McDuffie isn't with us anymore, so they can't exactly get all the writers but, they can get close.

He did say the DCAU is going to be the blueprint for his DCU and he'll take a lot of inspiration from it

Bro the DCAMU hands down is my favorite. Everything about is was perfect made me really care for most of the characters. An showed why Damian is the Best Robin.
Damian is not the best Robin, the DCAMU played favorites with him WAY TOO MUCH, the best Robin is either Dick Grayson or Tim Drake.
Your right the DCAMU was the best universe and had incredible storytelling, but come on i feel the arrowverse deserved to be mentioned in this video.

Almost agree. It did still have some issues like too many characters being able to hurt or best Superman, and there being times that they could have gone darker, but chose not to like with flashpoint just ending the world. That meant that Thomas Wayne never kidnaps the Barry Allen from his world and fails to repeat the same experiment, and just killing Barry Allen.
My only problem with the dcamu is that some heroes just appeared out of nowhere without question and some of them didn’t get most screen time
Yeah. Maybe they could've done a ten year plan like james gunn, that way could introduce the characters that way. And I would've loved if apokolips war was a two-parter where the first movie they lose and introduce the new gods and movie 2 all the heroes in this universe fight darkseid and batman sacrifices himself like in the crisis comic. Most of the superheroes will live and the universe doesn't get reset because I freaking love it so much😢😢.

I'm sorry but the DCAU will forever be untouched. Til this DAY you can immediately tell that those were TRUE heroes. Every eps taught you a valuable lesson and they felt so real and relatable for a cartoon.

It was peak in 2014/15 - 2018 with all of them being good (exept for batwoman and the first 2 seasons of supergirl being boring while season 3-6 were great) and the arrowverse died after crisis on infinite earths

@user-me870 I thought I was the only one who had this in mind. After Crisis and Arrow, everything did go down from there but The Arrowverse was still good but not the best as it was.
The DCAMU did what the DCEU could't: The DCAMU had a stable universe
If they were to take aspects from both the DCAMU and DCAU it could truly be something special. By taking the character building and emotional tones that really made you think, giving us a superman who is more human then most humans, a batman who never backs down and can't decide who the mask truly is and mix that with the DCAMU connectivity between them and build upon the story's. That could be something special.
The warverse is truly my favorite version of the DCAU it’s just so good and I personally enjoyed Jason O’maras Batman.
Shazam’s death is the still one of saddest deaths in the DCAMU, he was only a kid but still in the end sacrificed himself, that’s why he is worthy 😢

When people bring the "DC is great in animation" people confuse a lot and no one knows if we're talking of the Timmverse or New 52 universe. Timmverse is overall the example of what should be praised from DC animation and what should inspire a little the New DCU.

DCAMU was too fire. All the Bat family films were amazing
The DCAMU gave us one of the best characters ever, John Constantine. Matt Ryan was literally made for that role, so much so that they cast him as the live action version in the Arrowverse.
Actually he was Constantine in his own live action show, before he voiced him in the animated movies. Highly recommend it, sadly was canceled but, it was great.

I agree they should’ve went with that mapped out animation War Verse. It’s way more in line dramatic, action packed and well told.
As a big Titans fan & Raven being my favourite DC character, I am so glad they included the Teen Titans in the DCAMU. I am happy they were part of it.

hey doomblazer!, i think i have a theory on how The Flash resets the dceu universe. if we remember back to the beginning of the film when ezra’s barry traveled back in time and ended up in the keaton/sasha calle verse. he might’ve left the dceu as is UNTIL later on towards the end of the film when the 3 barry’s are messing with the multiverse maybe their actions cause ripple effects throughout the multiverse and in doing so effect the dceu and change it into the dcu. if this theory is true that allows them to recast ezra miller as the flash (because he is in the clooney verse) and also keep jason moama as aquaman in the clooney verse so he can play both lobo and aquaman like peter safran and jason been teasing. it would of course also allow some characters like peacemaker, suicide squad, waller, etc to be canon.
James Gunn and Peter Saffran already said no actor is going to play multiple characters so Jason Momoa cant play Lobo or Aquaman at the same time.
DCAMU is definitely the best shared universe, a bunch of those movies were amazing. The conclusion was flawless as well, Justice League Dark Apokolips War was a masterpiece.
I'm still very okay with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker being a part of the new DCU. Remember that some alternate universes share some similarities with others. It's not that hard to imagine that The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker didn't happen in the DCEU. But did in the DCU. And face it, those characters are too good to waste.
You should rank every DC Universe there is, both in live-action and animation.

it was a pretty good ending and the character ark of constantine was fantastic he truly sacrificed his soul for the better good and the endings purpose was always supposed to be a reboot
@@MobotMassmy problem with it is how they kill off so many characters and give them no goodbye or anything (except nightwing) which didn't need to be done just cause they were doing a reboot and that they focused too much on the movie setting up a reboot

The problem was that universe didn’t do well sells wise which is why they restarted it more movies were planned to be made like another teen titans movies
I think if James Gunn just brings over the actually good DCEU films that stand on their own without being too connected to the universe over to the DCU, then that'd work. Films like:
Wonder Woman 1: Is set back in WWI and aside from the opening with Diana receiving that photo from Bruce Wayne (which can easily be retconned with a new Batman), it is it's own thing.
Aquaman 1&2: Aside from the 1 line of Arthur and Mira meeting back during Stephen Wolf's attack, both films are there own thing and could (nearly) seamlessly fit into the new universe.
The Suicide Squad: Perfectly separated from the DCEU.
DCAU and Dcamu are my favourite universes
I agree they should have made live action movies based on the animated movies and it would have given blockbuster results.

Fun fact : actually the original dceu justice league trilogy was going to plan out just like the justice league dark apokolips , the animated movie was actually inspired by the scrapped out idea from dceu justice league. Had the justice league movie not been a mess, we could have actually got to see a live action version of the justice league dark apokolips
In my opinion if I was too reboot the DC Universe I’d make it entirely animated with the art style from Spider-Man Into & Across the Spiderverse. I mean it would be so cool
DC Animated Universe over everything. What separates this is that these shows had HEART.
I agree because there is my very first DC Basultoverse's Justice League drawings except for the DCEU. But James Gunn will help me created my DC Basultoverse heroes and villains collide and even bigger-than-ever than the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
DCAU is the one and only, franchises that where strong enough to stand solo and then collab to make something great. Roll call, BAT MAN TAS, SUPER MAN TAS, STATIC SHOCK, BAT MAN BEYOND and The Zeta Project, which got cancelled because the network did not want any violence/fighting in the show.

Ranking all DCAMU Movies
The DCAU is a masterpiece and the perfect universe, it destroys the others. It had characters you cared about and actually acted like real people with real problems, it had mature stories and arcs. The writing and voice acting was just top notch
It also has imo the best moment in DC’s history, that being Batman comforting Ace in her final moments
yeah dcau had an Accurate depiction of every character especially batman, but now unfortunately in other media they wanna turn batman into a mentally ill psychopathic edge lord uncapable of any happiness or warmth.
MCU, Star Wars & Star Trek are currently the top 3 franchise that keeps the story linked to each other perfectly.

FINALLY SOMEONE LOVES DCAMU AS MUCH AS ME! DCAMU was really good adaptation of DC Universe, it's concected and it has beginning, middle and end. It's better than Tommorow-Verse because they didn't skiped major events and developments. But of course DCAU is iconic and still amazing I CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT! Justice League Unlimited is honestly one of the best superhero shows I've ever seen, there's barely a bad episode.

I disagree, the Warverse doesn’t even compare to the true golden era of DC animated movies that ended with Flashpoint that was still peak. Movies like Justice League Doom, Crisis on two Earths and New Frontier are way stronger than something like Justice League War, better writing, pacing and animation. And even the new Tomorrowverse has a way higher standard than Warverse, I’d argue that Warverse was actually the weaker era of DC animation. But I don’t know if even these other movies beat the overall quality of the DCAU, the first episodes of Justice League animated would’ve truly made the perfect introduction movie for the JL in theaters.
