its made by a small company with just a few persons and the device is, since years, in a kind of beta-state, but its works just like a champ. i don't know about any device like this, the smallest "real" turntables, with a bunch of nice "real vinyls" costs nearly the same - but its big and clunky, even the little turntables. but this thing - man! you just put it in your bag and scratch everywhere! on a plane, waiting somewhere, in the car, at work, outside.... its in terms of cost/value, for me, one of the best device purchases i ever did. i can recommend it very much to anybody missing nice scratches as a cherry on top on their tracks. i tried it before with some freakish ableton-workaround, but there was always the feeling that its programmed, synced and not "real" and with the feeling of manipulating the sound with your fingers.
many people complain about the price....:/ but ppl complain about everything, sadly. i think its really okay, for a small Company and what it offers. to me there is no better/cheaper solution

by the time i found out about the Koala Sampler App and the pocket Operator has been a bit dusty by the time. Will make Videos about it, its really great. get all the Updates, cost maybe below 10$ and its just a powerhouse!
@@derbymachtsachen koala sampler is a work of art. It ended up being my gateway drug to getting the sp404 and changing my workflow forever 😉. If elf audio ever made some kind of a hardware sampler I'd be all over it like white on rice. Brilliant app.
the KO 33 may be what youre looking for now lol
@@bornofisais8532 the new ko II? Yeah I know exactly what you mean. If that thing existed before I got knee deep in sp404 stuff, I'd have been all over it. Alas, I need any excuse I can use to avoid buying new gear, especially something that overlaps do much with what I have. It's a good looking sampler though and the temptation is strong.
@@GeorgeL909 i bought one, should arrive in a few days, but i heard a lot of problems with the fader, seems it is/has a faulty design. that would be really not-so-very-cool. :/ hope for the best...
I have no idea what those machines do but I am enjoying every moment of this.
the machines that do the work are pocket operators by teenage engineering, very, VERY affordable little portable sampling machines. you can do really nice stuff with it. the other thing is a little turntable, for obvious bad scratching and the other thing is a little mixer, to put the sound of the samplers and the turntable to one signal, so i can record it 🙂
@@derbymachtsachen hell yeah. 💪
Damn this is sick, fire beat btw
Thanks!
That sample at 0:12 is great! Old kung fu movies are one of the best sources for killer samples like that. I also use 50s sci fi monster movies and 70s blaxploitation flicks for sampling too - some of the dialogue in those is just too good
thank you, i love to collect nice and strange Samples, RUclips is just a goldmine for this. Also Old Gangster movies are really good to chop, even Westerns/Cowboy movies etc
@derbymachtsachen absolutely! I'm a huge fan of the obscure dialogue sample too! Tracks like Frontier Psychiatrist by The Avalanches are my soul food!
I've never come across your channel before, but you've got another sub on the basis of this video & I'll be sure to catch up your back catalogue!
@@SuperMickyChow i just listend this afternoon to frontier psychiatrists, hahahaha, thats funny! yeah, great track, great scratching.
thanks! i hope i can keep up making nice videos
@@derbymachtsachen Haha! That's awesome!
Judging by what I've seen so far, your future videos will be just as good, if not better!
Thanks, i hope so
Wirklich sehr chillig
Coolest thing I’ve seen on RUclips man insane
thank you very much!
Crazy yo I like the set up and the beat is 🧨
Thanks!
Absolutely sick. I might order all of that gear and start mixing my own tunes dude.
I highly recommend to get the Koala Sampler App with all Upgrades. Its maybe around 10$ but its soooooo powerful. Check some Videos, its just great.
So so sick. I need daily uploads from you, Derby. God bless
Thanks man! there will be a big new episode of smol beats soon!
I would.....very much like......to hear an album or three with this setup and your chops. It's okay, I can wait.
i have a whole beattape/video full of pocket Operator beats on my channel! ruclips.net/video/SGfYHXKYgqw/видео.htmlsi=R0cvnr1qwXgYmdAG
Ok great I'll head right over!! Thank you!!!@@derbymachtsachen
you are welcome, Thanks for listening to my silly stuff.
I'm listening to this on repeat
A short masterpeace, best old school beat i ever heard, bring back old nice memories 💎
thats Kind of you, thank you very much! ❤️
@@derbymachtsachen 🙏
This is a madlib level beat, insane
that's very nice of you! But I'm a student - there are real masters of this device out there
nice one!!!...also love the cases for the POs
they are made by beatmakersboutique and are really great
Strong Deltron 3030 vibes
Love these of beats. From a 20syl - Kodama happy style to grimy stuff like
aRCSIN - Filthy temple touch 🫡
This beat is too good to be this short.....we need more!
@@derbymachtsachen after listening to 100+ times I have invested In a NI Maschine MK3..... now just to smoke.....vibe.....and let the beats flow.... This is going to be a fun adventure at 42 years old lol.
I highly recommend to sell the Maschine and geht the Koala Sampler App on a nice Tablet. Oh boy...
Damn I got really excited about that mini turntable, I've been missing being able to scratch on my tracks so I've been looking at like the low end, I saw the size of that thing thinking it'd be like 40-50$, they want more for that then some mid range decks, fuckin wild lol.
its made by a small company with just a few persons and the device is, since years, in a kind of beta-state, but its works just like a champ. i don't know about any device like this, the smallest "real" turntables, with a bunch of nice "real vinyls" costs nearly the same - but its big and clunky, even the little turntables. but this thing - man! you just put it in your bag and scratch everywhere! on a plane, waiting somewhere, in the car, at work, outside.... its in terms of cost/value, for me, one of the best device purchases i ever did. i can recommend it very much to anybody missing nice scratches as a cherry on top on their tracks. i tried it before with some freakish ableton-workaround, but there was always the feeling that its programmed, synced and not "real" and with the feeling of manipulating the sound with your fingers.
Hey man what is it called????@@derbymachtsachen
@@fooseball131 portablismgear just google it, they have a nice website
I was actually surprised at the reasonable price. Was imaging something like the Teenage engineering Field recorder at $1500 ish.
many people complain about the price....:/ but ppl complain about everything, sadly.
i think its really okay, for a small Company and what it offers. to me there is no better/cheaper solution
Music that fits the tangled mess of my brain. It tickles a deep cord of a nostalgic-esk feeling. Like a lost memory that you can only pick up with one sense…
What a underwatery floating in space typa vibe man that is hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I keep coming back to this…damn it’s so good
Wow, Thanks!?!
I gotta watch this at least once every six months to maintain my mental health, getting my bi-annual as we speak. A new SC500 + PO33 video would be a nice Christmas present lol
Oh boy, thats really cool! I wanted to make more Videos this year, but some bad Things happened and my creativity just went to Zero. But i have a lot of things in the pipe, i hope i can start making videos again soon. Thanks for the comment, it is making me very happy when people enjoy some of my silly stuff. I wish you a great weekend!
@@derbymachtsachenI’ve noticed you mentioned this before. I hope your recovery is going well, take everything in bite sized chunks as they say. You’re clearly a super talented guy and you’re also a kind soul (I’ve read many of your comments). What ever you are going through, know that it is temporary and things will change and you’ll be back creating amazing videos before you know it. Sending you much love my friend. ❤️🙌🏻
Mind-blowing and here I am still incapable of using MPC beats n FL studios... I really wanna learn though 😅
just keep on practicing, start easy, a simple but groovy drum loop, find a nice sample, chop it, and add a solid and simple bassline to it - watch a lot of tutorials too, that helped me very much
This is great, wish I knew how to get started down this path
whats the problem? with what do you struggle?
i am planing on a video/serie to teach people how this works from the scratch (pun intended)
@@derbymachtsachen not op, but I struggle finding the space between composition and live performance.
@@derbymachtsachen just knowing how to start with both what equipment and using it
i hope to put up a Video exactly about this soon
Coolest portable setup ive seen so far!
its really smol and very portable
amazing, and holy shit i just went down a rabbit hole looking at the scratch turntable, might have to build one
if you can build your own you have quite some skills!?! wow!
@@derbymachtsachen it's open source! the designer is a legend for putting it online and the actual build looks straightforward enough. but sourcing all the parts is a bit of a mission..
@@OIP_1 oh really?! thats cool! So who is the Person who made it /put it online?
These are the coolest calculators Ive ever seen.
Pretty sure they are
🔥🔥🔥
would love a full track of this!
maybe i make a longer Version soon, Thanks for checking it out!
Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus. This just works so well.
holy shit my guy this beat is amazing. big ups
Thanks!
true lo fi. god bless
The algorithm has been stretching lately and I love it!
the algo pushed that video to the stars its crazy
That was super fresh! What a dope beat!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Oh yes !! Great work man
thank you!
I'm still bumping game ost's from the 8bit and 16bit era.
Thats some good stuff!
This is so good, but by about 00:50 I was watching the dwindling timeline and thinking, "If you don't scratch that beat I'm going to lose my damn mind."
I eventually thought you just put out that SC500 to troll us.
I got the device a bit earlier and never scratched before. So the "scratching" was quite mediocre and i did not want to mess up the video by trying to make something spectacular with it.
Yeah but can I have a 8 hour version of this?
Alter, der beat ist über-geil.
