Thanks , great video. Helped a lot fitting an aftermarket LOUD horn on my Sportster. Mind you if they can't hear my exhaust I doubt the horn going to make a big differnece. But it makes me feel better if I give it a blast AND a a few more revs 😁
I think you've got an effective, if not glamorous solution. I really dislike extra wires running all over my bikes, so I'd have to find another solution. Like maybe a .45 cal.
Nice Monkeywrenching - Next time you could buy a Screaming Banshee Shockwave Horn - All the wiring and connectors come with the horn and it has an internal relay and fuse.
The horn kit now comes with an adapter bracket that uses the original horn bracket. I made the mistake of watching this video before reading the instructions and screwed up my original mount. The new kits come with everything you need for a quick and easy install.
my sportster's horn is on the front frame, i wonder if it'd fit there but it's got that nice bolt under the choke, im getting me a chrome bad boy, great sound for the buck, by the way the horn on the rear is senseless.
Hey Guy What & Where did you go with your O.E. horn wires. Where did you attach 'em too? That's the ground and the hot wire. I bought the Stebel Air Horn. I don't want my O.E. horn on the bike: my 1985 FLHTC Thanks Guy GOD BLESS YOU
I had a hard time getting that rubber mount off myself.. but like some others Iv'e read about, I end up tarring the rubber mount.. Now Im online buying another one because my Bad Boy vibrates like hell mounted straight on. Fuel injection ( WideGlide 06' ) so no problems with choke in the way.
Ah well - that was your FIRST mistake wasn't it ... At 0:53 you thought - it would be a "pretty" (not a bad boy term at all is it) EASY DEAL - to remove the OEM horn. ? Oops - that wasn't clever now - was it. YOU REMOVED THE BRACKET TOO. Then: 2nd mistake - YOU FORGOT TO REMOVE THE HORN - from the OEM "Horn-Bracket" ??? PRETTY EASILY DONE = AT ... 1:24 SEE ???? BY REMOVING the two smaller bolts - that (actually) hold the HORN - to the Horn Bracket.!!!! & 3rdly - ? You forgot to MOUNT the new horn (the real BAD BOY itself) - to that OEM "Horn Bracket" By bolting it onto the BRACKET - via either of the two (lower) bolt holes. ... Which you would then have (very easily) - simply remounted BACK onto it's original "bracket" position. AND by being "placed" between the two cylinder heads - aiming "sound" to both sides.. The BAD BOY - would have been better heard OUT FRONT as well as "each side of the bike". Rather than as an "after thought" (hidden as it is) at the rear end..? ... Hence why you couldn't operate the choke at 4:42 & Also - why you then "went-on" to do a lot more, to (solve) all of those other (self-created) problems. Only to have to end up? Remounting a (now) useless non-functioning horn ? (Why - as it isn't even used now, it's just there - as added EXTRA weight to the already way-too-heavy bike) Relocating the new horn, along with lots of extended wiring - to mount it - somewhere else? ... The PRETTY part - was watching a "pretty" - do all those extra things - as well as having a (can't see your) sissy horn - under the sissy bar, as a sissy mounted it there - whilst videoing it all ;-) Here's a way better AFTER THOUGHT, rewire the old horn and splice it into the original circuit (before the relay) so - if ANYTHING happens to the new (louder) horn - or if that fuse blows rendering the new horn unpowered, at least the old OEM horn will be (sort-of_ heard just like it always was - weakly.. AND the two different horns - should compliment each other - now that you have already fitted the bad boy under that sissy carrier.

Or a knife!

BTW; a lot of people use the original bracket/rubber mount to mount the horn. It keeps it out of the choke.

Did you have to remove the front fairing to access the switch? Because I wasn’t able to trace it back to the battery like you did
Thanks for the video, helped find a solution and anticipate a couple of issues. Cheers, Ed
I mounted mine in the stock location by removing the metal bracket from the cowbell.

I have a new Bad Boy horn in the box. Putting it on today. They claim it's one bolt and the wires will plug-in. We'll See!

One of the worst problems with a Harley is the horn sucks? Really?
my tool bag is always on my seat!! LOL!!
Did you ever think of relocating the choke to the carb side with a kit? ( I know another expense). nice video
This is one of the most sloppy installs I've ever seen on RUclips.
Bet that horn came in handy many times, my horn doesn't even work, time to fix it.
which horn to choose for Street 750. n would it also affect the company warranty
Hey man, your bike is cool. Keep up the vids!
Denali soundbomb comes with ready made wires. Way easier
thanx. nicely done. hope i fiqure it out on my 87 fxlr
Great work,
New horn sound @ 5:35

Mounting in the same location as the factory horn is an easy fix. No imagination or lacking in mechanical skills. This is a Terrible how to video!

Great install! So you can blow the horn at people… That you’ve already passed…
What a pain in the ASS!!!

It sure isn't "plug and play" by any means. Or close to it, when the kit doesn't include everything you need.
