The back story of falkreath is absolutely gloom. its the largest cemetery in all the holds, iirc. and being set in the valley seems to make it darker than some other holds. its my favorite place to roam and kill time when i play.
Falkreath is just one of the holds I first fell in love with, and it was the place I always would setup “home.” Even in vanilla the town itself might be meh but the hold and surroundings are just a vibe!

@JayJay0805 I think it's just background music that plays in a loop. I looked up the soundtrack listened to most of the tracks, couldn't find this one. I actually hung out in the Falkreath hold for a while in my playthrough and heard this one a few times. It's so nice.

One thing I noticed about Skyrim is that you always seemed to be railroaded from Riverwood to Whiterun, to High Hrothgar, etc. Even the path from Helgen Keep leads right to Riverwood, as if the game expects you to go there first. So for my most recent save, I journeyed West to see what lie in wait. I found Pinewatch and the dungeon entrance hidden in the cellar, then came to Falkreath where I decided to make my home. I never want to leave!
I think on first play, like most games, you kinda follow the path most encouraged by the developers… but what’s so great about Skyrim is you can totally just skip all that on future play throughs and explore… like you did. Its wonderful to just exist in the world and do your own thing : )
Nice compilation.. And notice the interesting little tree stump right next to the waterfall - it's on a much smaller scale than the ones surrounding the scene! ;-)

Falkreath is my favorite hold. In my main save file that's where my family lives after moving from Hendraheim. I'd mostly beaten all the questlines and wanted to settle in the woods but still closer to people. More space was nice too.
Bro the main street section, has me grinding to code DAILY. PLease can you make an extended version of just that lol, I love the really quiet minimal ambience really lets me lock in.

Falkreath has a different aura if compared to the other holds. It's hard to explain. It causes me a feeling of emptiness and sometimes nostalgia.
The surrounding forest is much more alive to me, also being set in a valley it makes it feel safer. I love it. Great town.
