You know what's funny? Back then, people were saying the exact same thing about these bands "Oh, they can't play their instruments. Nothing like the 60s bands" They also said it about the 60s era bands "What's wrong with a bit of nice jazz then?" They said it about the 40s era bands: "This jazz is just noise. How about some classical?" Etc etc etc. You don't need to shit on modern music to appreciate what's in the past.

Damn this is a good performance. What an intensity. Courtney singing is great here. Patty and kristen are really into it. The hyperactive image mixing (don't know the word for it) is not my thing usually but it really fits here.

This lineup of Hole was amazing. If Kristen had not died and they could have kept this lineup intact they would never have sucked so hard after Live Through This.
I disagree. While i don't prefer the celebrity skin era, melissa definitely elevated the band after joining. Her singing brought a new dynamic to hole. Her and Courtney always harmonized perfectly together.
They didn’t suck so hard after ‘Live Through This’, artists and bands evolve, ‘Celebrity Skin’ featured exceptional songs, just because it had a more mainstream sound doesn’t mean it sucked and everything Courtney did since then has been A1 songwriting.
I can't stand melissa's singing! I loved how they treated Kristen's vocals on LTT, they were subtle and haunting. Melissa's sound so jarring next to Courtney @@kaitlinmojica9678

i dont know if anyone is keeping up with this thread but does anyone know who is performing on bass? i cant tell if it is pfaff or not. i am looking to see if Leslie Hardy ( a fill in bassist they had) shows up in any video
No, he's talented and was very important for hole but he really isn't as good as some hole fans make him out to be he's just above average for punk/grunge standards
Umm no the band would have never gotten off the ground without Courtney. Of course Eric is a huge part of hole but let’s be real here. They were both 99% of the band.

Oh, and as far as Courtneys little looks up to the ceiling and blinks and blank stares, TOTALLY CONTRIVED. CON-FUCKING-TRIVED!
I still giggle at “Brother Son”. I wish they’d done more live tv performances during this era.

See her flawlessly play the opening riff? She could play and she could shred

I love this iconic performance, I watch it over and over. It radiates the 90’s. Courtney is a goddess ❤
