From compliance issues to potential legal consequences, I explore the risks of regulatory scrutiny from the Federal Trade Commission on the automotive industry and discuss strategies for navigating this to avoid fines and maybe worse.

Awesome. Now I know what words to look out for, so that I have a counter the next time I purchase a car. Thanks for the heads up 👍🏼
Leaving a file on your desk? How is a salesperson supposed to check customer credit? Some of this goes too far.
It means leaving a customer's file on the desk you aren't working with. You ever forgotten a DL on the copier? Things like that if done will be a fine because the customers information is in the open. I get why they're doing it
How about a rule preventing markups.
That's the issue
When I checked on indeed I found many compliance manager jobs and compliance/security jobs for many places other than auto dealerships. Only Holman Ford, (the 2nd car dealership I ever applied to work for btw.) has a "licensing supervisor" position open for interviews. I'm not sure if it's worded that way in dealerships or not.
the fines for customer privacy violations.... i have no sympathy for... fine them to death. that is messsssssed up... add the warranty double up to that too.
5:18 that too, how u going to defend that. 'yea that comes with it' later: 'that will be $X.XX"
the rest of it, I hear ya, but dude, lmao, freals?
I feel you 😂
Regulation in the auto sales industry should be very limited. Waste and abuse from regulation with no proper oversight on that regulation is the issue. Just thinking 🤔 on what we are taught by you in the beginning about how so called*car salesman" have had years! to piss off millions of Americans, is absolutely true. Does anyone actually believe that the so called "officers" of the FtC are not among those pissed Americans and that they may abuse the power they get to "get back" at car dealerships? I believe they would mostly and should be first vetted to not be that type of individual but you know that will not happen. There's no right now about that.
