My life long dream has been fufilled, and will be attending Jeff Lynne's ELO farewell concert in St Louis, Missouri Sept 6th.
I couldnt be more excited. Have loved ELO since I was an 11 year old girl in small town South Wales. The first record I ever bought with my Birthday money was Livin' Thing. Second record was Telephone Line. My love for ELO has only intensified over the years.

I believe i was 12 or 13 years old when i heard for the first time ` Telephone Line `. This magical and wonderful music accompanied me throughout life until today. I can only congratulate you to see the concert live. I am 59 years old from Germany near Munich and I have always wanted this too. Maybe it will still come true - I hope the farewell tour also leads to Europe......perhaps ? Enjoy this beautiful, unique memory. I wish you a good time. Kind regards, Roland

Today is my 60th Birthday. Since I was 11 years old I discovered ELO, and fell in love with them. The first record I ever bought was Livin' Thing in 1976 when I was 12. Second record was Telephone Line. My love fir this amazing group has only intensified over the years.
Fast forward to 2024, and I spent the last of my meagre paycheck to buy tickets to see Jeff Lynne's ELO in St Louis, MO Sept 6th for their Over and Out tour. I couldn't be more excited.
Losing Richard Tandy last month was gut wrenching. But we will still have Richard in our hearts.

Genesis is prog rock, Uriah Heep is metal, but what is ELO?... The only logical answer I've gotten is that ELO is it's OWN thing… I'm also surprised to hear ELO wasn't that respected in the UK.. Among the original albums or singles, only the single 'Xanadu' (1980) reached nr 1 and even that was sung by Olivia Newton-John.

From Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Tom Petty and Joe Walsh from the brilliant 2012 BBC Documentary Mr. Blue Sky: The Story Of Jeff Lynne : " It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity and COMMERCIALLY, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter". Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Beautiful song! Cool how the video shows the sort of silhouetted moments from his career -- Traveling Wilburys, etc. Always such an amazing quality to his songs. Some songwriters, when you hear their songs, the songs are OK, but don't leave you with much when they are over. And then you have people like Jeff Lynne, whose songs not only have melodies that stay with you, but also have depth, insight, feeling. He must be a very interesting guy to know. He has lived his dream, and entertained us, for half a century. When you hear a Jeff Lynne song, you can't get it out of your head.

When England created the official title of O.B.E, music like this is what it was meant for.
From what I know, the Order of Benificient Excellence (O.B.E) was created during WW1 to honor English civilians who excelled in life and did incredible things.
It is an honor that is not given out much and must be earned. Jeff Lynne has, in my opinion, more than earned that title by providing the world with his brilliant music for so many years.
I would love it it someone from England could let me know if I got the history of the title of O.B.E correct or not. After all, I am just a rebellious American cousin to Britain.

Ahh. All the Beatles loved and worked with Jeff, 3 choosing him to be their producer. He never got to produce any of John's work whilst John was alive sadly (..but did produce posthumous John songs -Free As A Bird won a grammy) yet John knew him, worked with him and thought the world of him, even saying "ELO picked up where the Beatles left off." It doesn't take a genius to hear Imagine, Hey Jude and Watching The Wheels chords meshed with George's influence and Ringo coming in on the kit. You did them all proud Jeff. Only you could do that and still make it yours whilst allowing the listeners to hear your homage to those you respected and who respected your genius right back. Brilliant song. Brings a tear. 👏👏👏👏💖

The great Jeff Lynne has a new album out since November 1st, 2019. Jeff Lynne's ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA is still Touring! From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas and Stadiums. I saw them again last Summer of 2019 on the North American Tour...( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. He created the best Super Group of all time with his best friend George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Jeff Lynne has written and produced many hit songs for music legends like George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Del Shannon, the Everly Brothers, and so many others... Long live Jeff Lynne’s ELO! Please Tour in 2021!
