This game actually has some pretty nasty effects on the zombies, especially with blunt wepons, which can shatter limb bones, causing them to stick out, smash the face in, causing their jaw to hang on by a thread, and heavy slams to the back of the head, letting you not only see the brain, but causing their eyes to pop out and hang from the sockets, it's incredibly gruesome but morbidly fascinating as well
i remember during my first few hours i had hit a generic walker with one of the pool cues from the mansions, being able to break its jaw and leave it hanging with it STILL ALIVE left me slackjawed. it's insane how intricate the zombies are
I think they incorporated into the way damage works in the game the fact that they are decaying corpses rather than living people with healthy tissues that are being nourished and regenerated.
I was gonna say the same thing. With the severe necrosis that typically most video game zombies are seen with, bone and tissue would be a bit softer and spongier than normal living, healthy tissues and bone.
One thing they did great with this game was the detail with the figure art when they take damage from weapons showing cuts, punctures, etc. They also included physical changes when the body takes elemental damage like acid that will corrode the skin. Makes it seem like you are actually physically damaging them instead of relying on their health bar to show you constantly.
@@DoctorERh yes! You can literally rip the flesh from zombie bones until there's bits and pieces of bone and meat, you can also dissolve them down to the skeleton. There's even plenty of organs there that individually come out!

Ive just completed the story mode, doing all the side missions now. Was wondering to myself if Dr Wagner played this would he be in Dr mode when playing? Lol like "oh i just severed his spinal cord in 3 places, hes not getting up from that!"

I definitely need a video of the loadings screens of dead island 2, there you can see better all the damage and move with your joysticks the zombie injured, is just amazing
I actually played dead island 2. The game felt more immersive than dead island 1. There is stuff to do. I do like the apocalyptic LA story. Its not often we get bougie town zombie apocalypse.
He has a point about striking someone with your knuckles, they're actually very easy to break since it's multiple bones spread over an area of impact. That's why some martial arts focus more on strikes with the heel of your palm, or your elbows and knees, because it's one big bone instead of multiple smaller bones.
This game has a lot of fun executions! I've been playing for the past couple of weeks, and I'm a bit bummed they didn't include a clip with the legendary sledgehammer :( A power attack aimed at the waist or lower will send the zombie flying several feet backwards or up into the air...not quite realistic, but lots of fun. As for the electricity thing, yeah it takes a LOT of energy to do violent/explosive damage to us humans, though I have seen an accident at a substation where the person was completely vaporized in a split-second...scary stuff.
Considering how detailed and frankly graphic the kill scenes are along witj the detailed environment I can see why it took several years to make this game
Please do a part 2 of this because there are also injurys inflicted on the character players play as well as the main characters around them and crazy boss fights as well

I got a question for the doc how come he didn’t notice bout the beehive within the zombies abdomen area on the side where would the kidney or some the intestines be how would it work out?
I'm curious if you'd be able to survive what your character goes through right at the beginning of the game; the player pulls out a metal pipe or something and bleeds heavily, standing up to find a first aid kit.
So to clarify the reason the zombie exploded from being electrocuted its because you can fit your weapons with a perk to force a zombie to blow up when they die to fire, electricity and poison and it spreads the effects to nearby zombies
I was waiting for you to see the hero remove a piece of debris from their stomach area and say "Don't remove the protruding object until you reach medical aid!" Granted, a medkit is obtained shortly after with a bottle of disinfectant, a shot of painkiller, and a bandage patch that proves to be enough in the game, but I'm interested in what would have needed to happen in order for the hero to really survive something like that.

It took almost 8 years for this game to finally come out. I was extremely happy when i heard it's finally out.
And 3 different companies tried to make it after all
It took that many years, but in the end it looks like it only took a couple of them.
it took that long for it to end up a worse successor to its own game compared to Dying Light 1 which released in 2015

This only scratched the surface of Dead Island 2s gore. We definitely need a part 2!
