    I really wanted to find some good tutorial to show me one cycle of work process and what Affinity Publisher can do. And, your video really did that for me! I keep watching several times to master what you're teaching. No distraction without excessive video editing. Lots of tips. Gentle voice and easy to understand English(it really matters for non-English speaker like me). Thanks and cheers from a new fan from Korea!👍

    I really enjoyed this beginner course, especially as a newbie to the Affinity suite of programs. It would be great if you could include content for the other apps as well (Designer & Photo). I know a lot of hard work goes into making these videos, so I just wanted to say I really appreciate the time & effort you put in here in making this available to end-users. Thank you! 🙌

    This is more than some basic stuff about Publisher. It really helps out to setup some basic document. The example used here looks awesome. Thanks for sharing this great information.

    Hi, thanks for a great tutorial. I am new to Affinity and will be publishing a book, so even though I lack some things like adding a book cover, this tutorial has provided me with a great fundamental understanding of how the program works. I will definitely go back and re-watch some parts as I start working with the book.

      Thanks! We've definitely got the Affinity ecosystem in mind. One nice thing in publisher is that it includes Affinity Designer 2 as a persona, right within the Publisher interface. I touch on that a little bit in this course!

    Great tutorial >>> Great forward thinking in considering and understanding that the majority of viewers are here doing so BECAUSE THEY DON'T ALREADY KNOW THE MATERIAL! (Nothing more arrogant than a presentor making assumptions that their viewers already know various parts or have some levels of prior knowledge.) Well done - BRILLIANT!
    This part may be off-topic, but looking for some insight, so I tend to pick everyone's intellect. I'm writing a series of articles (chapters) on a topic that will be used in total as a 'course of instruction'. I intend to publish initially as digital, to be sold online, chapter-by-chapter. Obviously, each article will need to be viewable on the most popular devices (desktop, tablet, smartphone, et al). I would like to use Affinity Publisher to compose each and publish. I would also like to have it so that the reader may see two pages at a time and be able to turn pages in a maner similar to what Kindle currently offers for single-page viewing. My question for you: Is there a preferable file format that would work best; and, can Publisher save the document in said format? Thanks in advance.

    This is a great tutorial and I learned a lot! The only downside is I cannot find where the collection for the assets mentioned in the video is meant to be. Clicking on the link takes me to the landing page telling me to buy a subscription. Maybe I'm looking in the incorrect spot, but trying to follow along without being able to pick and pull out the images and fonts in the same way made it feel like the tutor was moving way too quickly.
    In the end, this is only minor and I still feel I learned a lot all the same!

    Question: When you finished creating the wire frame, is there a way to save that wire frame "as a wire frame" for potentially future use? Is there any value in doing so??

      Whether it was a bug or just the way the software was written at that time, the newest versions have corrected that issue. If you do what he did, it now shows the borders, rulers, guides, etc

    Why are the colors very muted when I print the brochure? I have it on cymk when setting up the document and followed all of the instructions for preflight and exporting the document.

    • @Nemiril
      @Nemiril 4 месяца назад

      cmyk is for professional printers, home printers use rgb thats why

    • @Covarr
      @Covarr 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Nemiril That is not correct. Most home printers still have cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (or CMYK) ink cartridges.

    • @AffinityPC
      @AffinityPC Месяц назад

      @@Covarr Correct, but they still print in rgb. The cmyk option for a home printer will be grayed out... it may show up if printing in postscript but not sure about that.

    In the 2.0 upadated version this does NOT work at all. It another bug, again and again. Importing IDML format into Publisher is creating strange layers.

    • @AffinityPC

      From time to time there are oddities that need tweaking to the imported IDML file, but overall (for my uses), it works quite well.

    can this program open exiting InDesign files?

    • @AffinityPC
      @AffinityPC Месяц назад

      Yes, there are videos on that, but inside of InD you export your file as an IDML and then open that in AfPub and save it as an AfPub file. Sometimes you will need to make small tweaks to the Imported IDML file once inside of AfPub, but overall, it works quite well! Hope that is helpful.

  • @alantuttphotography

    10 minutes into the video and while this may be a great introduction to Affinity Publisher, it's clearly not for someone new to desktop publishing in general. Probably should have made that clear in the intro. Also, the persona icons change depending on whether you have the Designer and Photo apps installed or not. And finally, as other have mentioned, you said you set up a package of files to use in following along, but there's no link to that package.
