This is a build that really takes me back and reminds me of the early days of the tiny house movement in NZ. I'll always love these simple but beautifully built homes, constructed from reclaimed materials by DIY builders. The very heart of the tiny house movement is encapsulated in tiny houses like this one. We hope you enjoy the tour! With love, Bryce & Rasa
Not sure how often you go to the USA, but my husband and I built a tiny house that is 90% off grid. It’s actually not on wheels like most. We wash our clothes like the olden days, are learning to preserve our own food, and would love to share our life with you guys! It’s funny because I’m a real estate agent and sell folks big houses all the time and I live simple and tiny.
These young people inspire me so much. I'm so proud for them. My granddaughter and I are building her a tiny house. It's very simple but we're doing it together. We're hoping to finish it to a liveable state by the end of April. Thankyou so much for sharing this journey. We've been inspired by your efforts to share ever since the beginning. Thankyou and all your featured guests for sharing your ideas and hope.👍
They are delightful and to hear how each one's family member was there helping with the build-aww! I love the wood incorporated inside and the sleeping loft was huge.. thank you
Even after watching a lot of episodes, it always amazes me how tiny houses look so much bigger on the inside! Also, you can never have too many plants.
Wow!! I absolutely love this build, it has charm, warmth and functionality. I really like that they went for recycled materials and the whole diy aspect deserves the utmost respect. Congratulations Lauren & Michael on building a beautiful home, and for allowing Bryce & Rasa to share it with us all. As always wonderful camera work and editing.
Nice one! Just made a pot myself and looking forward to reading through some comments now. I hope you're well mate! Enjoy your coffee and the video. ☕️
Thank you for inviting us to your home. I truly appreciate how down to earth, simple, and joyful you are. Your "Tiffany" 🏠 is an extension of your personality. Thank you to Rasa and Bryce for another fantastic documentary. 🙏
What a beautiful home with incredible surroundings. How fortunate this young couple is to be able to choose to live like this. Kudos to them!!! I love it. I hope someday to live in something like this.
Bryce and Rasa 🎶 on the road again 🎶 what a location, the view, just love these open land spaces, no one really close by, the privacy that’s what I want…thx Bryce and Rasa for showing this beautiful tiny comfy home.❤️ the couple made me laugh their fun..😀❤️
They could call this tiny house "Tiffany." That colour is pretty close to the famous "Tiffany blue" of the boxes that (very high end American jeweler) Tiffany puts their jewellery (or "jewelry" to them) in! It's a jewel box of a home!
Beautiful house, Amazing scenery & what a lovely couple. So good to see you Bryce & Rasa back on the road as it were… I adore all your videos. Take care, lots of love & keep safe xxx
Omg, your tree house turn into your wall and counter top, now that's one very special Tiny Home🏡❤️💕... having granny during the building and dad helping is also very precious.
And as always... these tiny houses surprise me on the inside, the space seems much bigger. All recycled items have been chosen with taste. Adorable house and adorable young couple!!
Ok so my second tome commenting on your videos. This was the most realistic one I've yet to seen. Love how they showed the real them, the shoes not well arranged underneat the sofa, the towels ordinarily placed in the bathroom etc, the kitchen storage racks being ordinary everyday things we use. Just love this as it was the most relatable one I've seen so I would have to give it 100% over all the others I've watched.
The closing comments are so true! It is fun to see tiny homes reflect the simplicity the movement set out to capture at the start of it all. Creative design. Repurposing. Spaces with great energy. Thanks for the awesome video!
"There's a really big difference in building a house an building a home"..They have so much love for each other you can see it in how they look at each other, plus they have a dog and plants..Such a warm home.
Ahh you're back!! 😀It's GREAT to see you on screen again! You and Rasa must be so happy and relieved to be out and about again doing what you love. God bless you both.
What a beautiful home they built! I loved the story of using the wood from the tree of Lauren's childhood, too. And of the family help, as well. This was such a pleasure to view and to hear!
I grew up in the Southern San Joaquin Valley of California in the USA. Our house was that same color and was the bright spot of our neighborhood for 53 years. 👍🏻👍🏻
Such a lovely couple . I really love their happy energy ...and it doesn't get more special than using the wood from a beloved childhood tree to make your home. The idea that the tree is still giving shelter is magical ! The only thing I would have to add is an oven for baking ,but other than that it is a perfect home !
Such a Happy couple Happy home with childhood memories, grandma visits and You and Rasa again with beautiful tiny, mesmerizing camera views, everytime you take me in dreams
Lovely couple and the fact so much of this was recycled is brilliant. They’ve developed their building skills - and the place really is their own. If young folk are saving for a mortgage deposit and could do a tiny home in a parent’s garden, while they save up, it’s a value learning experience.
I love it !!! Love how the house and hay bales are the same colour scheme LOL An old macrocarpa tree from your childhood brought tears of joy to my eyes as I remember the row of macrocarpa trees that lined our fence line around the old house in the Catlins some 60 plus yrs ago. I can still smell them after living in Aussie since 1976 !!!!
When asked about the future....short and sweet..."we're here now and we love it". Wonderful state of mind and heart to be present and live in the moment. Their home shows the beauty of their souls, warm and welcoming. Built with good materials and will last forever.(maybe 1st child's college home😀) Thanks for sharing!
Hi Bryce and Rasa! I just watched this video again because it's one of my favorites... and want to put my vote in for this to be one of your re-visits - I would love catch up on how Lauren and Michael are doing and how their tiny house life has evolved!
I love this tiny home - a real homey feel, and the colour of the outside is gorgeous. And so very beautiful with all the wood inside along with the white to bring in the light. Beautifully designed. Whenever I see a new excerpt from Living Big, I'm right there and immediately immersed. And this is one I will take away lots of ideas from for my own build still to happen. Thank you!!!
@@andrewmastrandonas5123 it doesn't have to! And why does that even matter! It's a pop of blue in a sea of green If they move elsewhere, it may. This is one of my favorites out of all the many tiny homes I've seen and loved. The open airy feel and the simplicity is very pleasing to the eye and the coziness as well. Not to mention the way she looks at him like he's the only man in the world! He's a lucky guy! It's beautiful no matter how you look at it!
My favourite couple so far 💕 they complement each other so well 🥲 love the use of all the recycled materials, such an inspiration and reminder to do the same 🙏
I love this wee house - and the fact that her treehouse tree was incorporated into the build. And that door window and bathroom door! I totally agree that you don't need a bathroom sink in a tiny house. I have a much larger cabin/small house and I use my kitchen sink for everything! (I also don't have running water or plumbing, and love using an outhouse! No water wasted. And the key to keeping odours at bay is just a small scoop of peat moss after each use. I agree about not wasting water on a flushing toilet, but without a bathroom sink, parasites, bacteria, and viruses can be spread from toilet use to the kitchen faucet. Then how can they sanitize their hands before handling food?
In the past, sanitation was problematic. Worse now with superbugs/antibiotic resistant germs, plus a pandemic that killed millions and shut down travel. They may be healthy and strong. What about guests that may not be, like people with a genetically weaker immune system, or one weakened from cancer treatment? You can look it up....things like Hepatitis A are still being transmitted. I say, don't let your guard down!

I love the way they did the couch and the kitchen. That's how I want my home to be. The couch on one side so that the kitchen can be large and have a lot of room for at least two people to work together!! Love it!!!!
So nice they can face each other while enjoying meals together. So many tiny houses don't have that type of arrangement. The sit side by side looking out the window, for instance.
Your last comment sums up what my husband and I always say about the different Tiny houses we see. Any time we view a DIY home we just love it (much like our own - we did it all, with the except of a few days with help from friends). Honestly, just for me, it's a little sad when I see homes made by a company. They don't have the personal touches and charm that DIY houses have. Keep up the great work and let us know when you get to America, we'd love to show you our home.
It's so moving to me that they were able to utilize the wood from her childhood treehouse... Places like that from childhood are so magical and filled with memories and learnings. It turned what would've felt like a tragedy of it dying and falling over into yet another magical opportunity to turn her beloved treehouse into their beloved tiny house! It totally reminded me of "The Giving Tree," by Shel Silverstein, except without the child's (humanity's) selfish exploitation of it. Rather they used and love the tree as children, and when it had finally lived out its life and fallen over they gave it new life in their home. It's now a sacred memorial that lives on... And they did SUCH a lovely job with the design and workmanship. I absolutely love their home. Beautiful!
Aww, I LOVE that cute little stained glass window, and what a creative way to make it. Beautiful home, it has such a lovely warm and cozy feeling. I love how personalized it is, there's a story to every chosen feature of this house. Truly feels like a home built with love. Well done guys. :)
