Who was Mozart? A man? The music? Human? A gift to our world from another? Something astonishing happened in his life, impossible to overstate, qualify. Might as well enjoy the miracle.
For me, Mozart is the person who gave humanity the greatest gift possible. His divine music elevates the emotions of a human being beyond the impossible limits.
He was some dude who died most likely of typhoid fever in Vienna and was buried in a mass grave due to an epidemic. He also made mediocre music at best. I'm surprised people still know about him.
Gives me goosebumps that this is the Tyl Theater in Prague. The *LAST REMAINING HALL* that Wolfie played in... and by some accounts, his favorite. Don Giovanni opened in this hall. Forget La Scala, the Tyl is the one. (OK, today it's called the Estates...)
my great great great great grandfather was John Uniack... i think there is a house in Halifax named after him... just saying... I really want to see Nova Scotia some time... symph 38 is so awesome
I've listened to many many versions of this symphony. this one is really good. And Manfred, like myself is a raging R Strauss fan. His Elektra suite was absolutely revelatory. Big Fan !!! I would love to see Honeck do Alpine Symphony and Zarathustra some day.... but still
Muchas gracias por esta bellísima interpretación de la "Praga"! Y felicitaciones a la orquesta checa por su magnífico sonido. EuroArts, que las próximas ya sean en HD, por favor. Saludos desde Perú.
The poor guy died at 35 while I am still living at 70. If possible, I would willingly donate a year of my (remaining) life to him so that he could have written several more symphonies and a few more operas. Anyway, Bravo!
Wait! In his 35 years, Mozart composed 41 Symphonies, 27 Piano concerti, Several Operas, Masses, String Quartets, works for solo instruments, and choral works. Don't you think over 600 works for a guy who died at 35 is enough?
Dont exagerate ahahahah . Each person chooses the life that wants to live . Mozart a Genius without control in life. I love him, but I would not give my live.
Great performance. Only complaint.. whenever loud, orchestra shown from a distance. Sure, nice big building. I get it, but would've been nice to see the orchestra during those parts too.
Hahahahaha this is the second time I see this! This isn’t symphony no.38! It’s Mozart’s Kv543 symphony 39 in E-Fflat Major! Who the hell keeps putting the wrong symphony! But beautiful interpretation could imagine how it would sound in that beautiful theater! It was after all my first Mozart symphony that I first attended to in person! And boy was it one off the greatest experience of my life! Well hope you guys enjoy it! Stay safe everyone!
You sound amazing, but what I found startling is the massive gender disbalance in the orchestra. Only 4 women out of about 40 players? Does this even happen anymore? Does Czech Philharmonic do blind auditions? Please address this glaring problem. You"ll sound just as good, will look better and provide an equal opportunity to women.
What an absolutely ridiculous comment you have made. Maybe they shouldn't be playing Mozart at all because he was male, or maybe for every piece that's played that was composed by a man they should play one composed by a woman? Do you have a problem with the conductor being male also? Maybe just to suit you there should also be a female conductor alongside him too, just to keep the gender balance right of course. Did you have a good look at the audience to see what the male/female ratio is so that you could complain about that? Keep your gender nonsense out of it and just enjoy the music. You sad individual.
This work is one of Mozart masterpieces, which is composed of three movements without minute movement.
wonderful performance ❤❤❤ such a lyrical sound these guys can produce
So often, in older recordings, the basses are lost in the mix. Not here. This rocks.
I want to keep listening to this music. ❤

Kidding the second part aside, greatest composer nest to bach and beethoven for sure. M M M M mmmmmm mozart. Yummy
@@luke8857 unfortunately for you the vast majority of musicians do not agree.
Gioacchino Rossini said "we are composers, but Mozart is the music".
It's a very beautiful symphony for a beautiful city from a classical master 😘♥️

Mozart. He was not of this earth!
Wasn't he? Hard to believe. He has improved in Prague ... My Praguers understand me. 😉

I swear I hear a lot of Tsaikovsky in this symphony in strings woodwinds passages especially.
True. And I have read in several places and a lecture that Tchaikovsky was a huge fan of and a life long devotee to the music of Mozart.
If this last remaining Mozart "played in" hall is indicative of the times, I am just surprised there is not more sturm und drang in his music.
thanks!!!
Bellissimo

Great Musik but a bad video: in the Allegro you can't see how the vilinist work.
What is with conductors dressing like Shaolin monks these days?
The 1st horn is so loud and rough that it is seriously destroying the work.
Yeah as always🙄
