All software prior to the Model 2 was optimized for the most part, then them lazy Americans with their round eyes made burps and farts :D I am releasing 11, 12, 13, and 14 and the series will be finished unless I get requests.
Sega Genesis aka Maga Drive didn't actually have the best sound chipset SNES actually had the better sound chipset but Sega color pallet and Graphics were better.
I like both machines, about to go into GEEK mode - the SNES had its own sound, and so did the Genesis with the FM synth. The issue is many American developers had no clue how to make good music/sound on the Genesis. Then someone made the GEMS demo and instead of a guide it became the way sound was done on the Genesis. This is why sound was SO bad during the later years, and SO good during the early years. Of course there were exceptions. As for color, SNES had the win on colors also. SNES - Colors at once=512 total =32,768 Genesis at once =64 total = 256. SNES had twice the RAM also. 64kb vx 128kb. The Genesis had a faster processor and co-processor, and it also had 2 more sound channels than the SNES. The Genesis also came out in 1989 vs 1991 for the SNES. The fact it was so versatile is a testament to how good the machine was.
@Tolbat Hmm didn't know that i knew some of that. But yeah the Genesis coming out in 89 is why the Sega 32x should have been its own damn Sega console. In-between Genesis and Saturn.
@Tolbat the internet seems convinced the Genesis and SNES had the same amount of RAM. 64KB but that's probably bullshit and it means with things like it's Sega 32x attachment. Which boosted its power to prolong it's life against SNES.
🤘
16 bit music is the best 👌 8 bit can be good but 16 hits with so much more sound.
I can't believe Elemental Master only has 8 views.
Rip consoles.... long live the PC Master Race.
Im going to convince you Genesis was better than SNES sound if it kill me!
@Tolbat I'm sure it was when the software was optimized. There are some awesome soundtracks on it.
