    TheOasisGeek Channel : / @theoasisgeek
the first season begins fifteen years after "Robert's rebellion", with which Robert Baratheon expelled the Targaryen from the Iron Throne and proclaimed himself ruler of Westeros. Some time later, and after the sudden death of the Hand of the King, Jon Arryn, Robert invites his friend Eddard "Ned" Stark - Lord of Winterfell - to assume the vacant office. The latter accepts and, as soon as he arrives in King's Landing -the capital of Westeros and seat of the Iron Throne-, he discovers the truth behind a series of intrigues and conspiracies involving other noble families and related to the Arryn tragedy. However, when Robert also dies suddenly, the Lannisters reclaim power and execute Stark to prevent the spread of their investigations. These events unleash a war between the kingdoms.

For the people who haven't read the books, Winterfell was much, much bigger then in the series.
Winterfell surrounded the Ancient GodsWood which alone was 3 acres, Winterfell was surrounded by 2 giant granite walls the outer wall was 80 feet (24m) high and the inner wall was 100 feet (30m) high with a width mote between the walls.
Winterfell was considered impregnatable because it was build in a time of fear. Winterfell was so big it could house all the population of the North with enough wood and food storage to survive the long winter. Winterfell was castle with a town a default garrison was about 10.000 men rumoured was that during times of war Winterfell had a garrison of more than 100.000 soldiers.
So the rumour of possible dragons in the caves beneath the castle is possible seeing that Winterfell was build on a hill which is like a mountain of granite which raised the castle up so it could oversee the lands of the north.

It’s feasible to think that Ned brought back a dragon egg with him and left it in the crypts. I have a feeling Rhaegar had an egg for his prince.

Only problem is when Jon was born they had already ‘destroyed’ all the dragons and eggs at the Dragon Pits. Dany was given her “eggs” as a gift, the person thought the eggs were petrified, they were it was Dany’s blood that triggered their return. Same could have happened if Jack’s dragon left eggs a century ago, that there maybe some hidden eggs there, but it has to be a very hot place. Dany’s boys hated the north, it was too cold..Where as Jon’s dragon would have been born in the North and would be a dangerous dragon, one that didn’t care about the cold or heat.
I also don’t see a conflict between King Bran and any Lord or Lady of the North, especially if the north is still being protected by a Stark.
I’ve always said the actual winner of the Game of Thrones was House Stark. House Stark was the reason the civil war started in the first place. They couldn’t control a young girl in LOVE. That young girl in Love didn’t care about the ramifications of her actions. Neither did the handsome Prince. To think of he’d stayed faithful to his pregnant wife, the war wouldn’t have happened. But yet it did, cause of 2 selfish lovers. Lives lost including their own, and one family was left devastated, and another family destroyed and exiled. In the end, it was House Stark to outlast, outwit, and outplayed them all. The house that only wanted to rule the North and stay in the North.
Can’t wait too see what they do with the Jon Snow series. I hope they do discover dragon eggs, and Jon or his kids will become dragon riders and the Protectors of all of Westeros.

@@voniarichardson7945 indeed. But Rhaegar was obsessed with the prince who was promised prophecy. He married Lyanna in secret, hid her away. Also, it was tradition to keep an egg next to the new born. Wouldn’t he have planned for that? They say that the dragon bonds with the baby when they are placed with them at birth. It’s an interesting thought that there’s an egg or even a clutch of eggs that were with Jon at birth that are bonded to him…

Why would we need Queen of Winterfell? By all rights Sansa (while I used to like her) is a traitor to her people, if the truth of Jon ever became known she would be murdered by the North. She and Arya swore an oath in front of the wrywood tree their most sacred connection to the old gods, she broke that oath, she proved herself to still be a Tully not a Stark, she is a queen of lies and is becoming a female Littlefinger, if anything I think during the Snow show the North should find out about her treachery and she will be banished or killed for her crimes against the North and the old gods.

A dragon hidden in Winterfell! Interesting. Just before season 8 started, there were two previews/teasers shown on HBO. As I recall, most everything shown in both teasers occurred during the course of that last season. Some that come to mind were Arya tumbling/escaping over all of the dead in the crypt, the Golden Company Army readying for battle, Euron looking skyward for the dragon(s) flying overhead, etc., etc. The one teaser clip that didn't appear in any episode was that of John, Sansa and Arya in the crypt, and suddenly sensing something behind them (and I think some blue smoke/mist). Arya and John draw their swords and Sansa steps behind them, and the clip fades. I remember that clip in particular because it removed all tension for me when Arya was trying to survive the dragon assaults on King's Landing--I knew she was getting out just fine because there was going to be that last fight (or teaser of a future sequel) in the crypt.
Maybe the three of them saw a dragon?

It be a great story! I mean think of it as the batch of dragon eggs are in three. He finds them but haven't hatched because it's not hot enough but as soon as he touches one, it hatches. He takes it north and finds the remaining children of the forest and put magic on it to make it an ice dragon and rebuild the wall. War breaks when Brandon finds out and Dany comes back with Drogon and it becomes like a royal rumble.

I think it's clear there was absolutely at least one "dragon" hidden in Winterfell: Jon alone is sufficient to make that claim true.
I have been skeptical about the notion that there's anything more to it than that, but over the last couple days, I've started to get a feeling that the North might have been conspiring for a long time to put Jon on the Iron Throne, possibly before he was even born, maybe based on a prophecy we haven't heard yet that Lyanna and several other characters (possibly including Benjen, Ned, John Arryn, Howland Reed, and others) might have believed enough to commit treason and possibly sacrifice themselves to fulfill... it would, I think, explain a number of mysterious things about that whole "chapter" of northern history, and why Ned, Benjen, and others were doing things the way they were.
And if there really was some prophecy they were acting on, and they were preparing to put Jon on the throne as a Targaryan friendly to the North and well-prepared for the coming Long Winter and facing the Others, is it completely unlikely that they might not have obtained one or more dragon eggs to support Jon's claim with, waiting in the crypts of Winterfell for Jon to claim and try to hatch them?
It's a stretch, I think, given that the evidence to support this is (at least so far) thin at best, but it could be a fun "what if" scenario to pursue further to see how far the clues and hints in the story can carry it.

For the Love of god, let the Snow series start with Bran turning into the new Night King. When the night king leaves his mark on him north of the wall, it 'marks' him into the new night king. The "not remembering" what it's like to be Brandon Stark has more to do with him turning into the night king than the three-eyed raven. This time don't make the same mistake as when Danny went "crazy" and show Bran's slow descent into becoming the night king over the season while showing the rebuild of Westeros and catching up with all our favorite characters. End the season first season with Bran ordering his new fleet to find Rhaegals body so he can reanimate it.

The oldest tower in Winterfell has 'Gargoyle' shapes eroded and undefined around it. I believe they were Stone Dragons and possibly a place they housed dragons has been completely destroyed and caved in under Winterfell. As for the egg, it's likely Jace left eggs there as a gift that was kept secret, and possibly Lyanna knew about this and informed Rhaegar Targaryen and took an egg when leaving Winterfell. Ned Stark then returned it to Winterfell. And that's where the Jon Snow show will come from..

I would celebrate that; because (almost) every Targaryen child had a dragon in house of the dragon. I think that, perhaps, Reaghar found an egg in the Red Keep in Kingslanding and brought it to the tower in dorne, where jon was born. Then Lyanna told Ned about it and he took it. And He brought it to a safe place down in the crypt, because he dont want anyone to know, that jon was a targaryen and no snow.

Just imagine how big the crypt of Winterfell is, just for the current Starks you would need up to 10 lots, plus statues, and places for six direwolves.
The current deaths, Robs wife and unborn son, likely sent to winterfell by arya, Robs head, dire wolves head, recovered body, recovered wolf, plus pelt, missing Catyln's body.
Rickon, and his wolf, recovered from the Boltons and battlefield.
Sansa wolf, already in the crypts,
Brans wolf, likely in the whitewalker army, recovered from the field.
Benjan Starck, recovered from The white walkers defeat,
Ned Starks body likely recovered from the Dragon Pit, along with the bodies of his men, secreted out of Kings Landing in covered wagon, neds head likely picked up by a Warged Raven, and set with the body.
The handle of Ice was likely tossed into the pit, it was likely recovered, the blade sections, i am unsure of their location, likely one of the two swords made from Ice is with that little monster Joffrey, its the whole reason joffrey had ned killed to begin with.... relics have to be returned to families, being a traitor and criminal let you take Ice without repercussions.

Thought that the reason the castle was built was on top of where another wight dragon had fallen from the sky. Just like Vyserion had dropped on the walls of Winterfell, there was a previous dragon from the Long Night that crashed to the ground. It was buried there and the Stark catacombs was built on top of it as the dead guards it. Anyway having several eggs does make a difference and considering that John Snow/Aegon6 is an avatar for the resurrected fire, he does have the strongest magic around that he hasn't actively considered using yet.

If Jon would want to hatch a dragon egg, he would have to perform blood magic and a human sacrifice... I doubt he would ever do that.
It would have made sense that the people dying in the crypt during the battle with the white walkers would have hatched an egg more or less by accident. But since we didn't see that in the show, a sequel based on that seems not plausible. Then again, what was plausable about the last season of GOT...

I just thought of a way to keep the spirit of Dany alive but still the same... Start the new Snow series with Sansa fleeing to Castle Black along with Breanne and maybe a few more people all from Winterfel. Sansa would outright claim it to be the work of Drogon as she has seen his "work" burning down King's Landing. Jon has a feeling that something isn't right so after eventually arriving in Winterfel, he sees what looks to be Drogon, only this is an entirely different new Dragon around Drogon's size and after losing nearly all of his comrades, Jon would go on a quest to find and ride Drogon into a battle for his original home and maybe battling one or more Dragons that have come from the same new brutal eggs nest.

Plus, what if Tyrion does have a drop or two of Targaryen blood? Who’s to say whether or not one of the Wildlings would be able to ride a dragon? Or one of the giants? Heck, it’d be like riding a [flying] horse for one of them - if the dragon could bear their weight.

If anyone could just come and have a dragon that would dilute the strength of the series and power of Targaryen. Specially for Danaerys… because it started with her bringing in the dragons in such a dramatic and poetic way… so yeah, if the mother of dragons is dead then it just wouldn’t make sense for dragons flying around being ordered by just anyone, even Jon.
