    I typically work 12½ hours a day, 5 days a week (Sunday through Thursday), then 8 hours on Friday. The vehicle I chose was a Toyota. That particular brand is known for great gas mileage, especially hybrid vehicles.

    Rent is a tax write off, and then if you write off your mileage, pretty soon you're paying zero taxes.

      Careful, that’s not true. Rent is deductible, but not the mileage. Fuel, yes. The mileage is deductible for the rental company not the renter.

      True, if you are renting out your personal vehicle through a share program. You can write off almost everything! But general rule of thumb, if it is your “general bills are your write offs” if you are using “ miscellaneous bills are your write offs” I.e (rental, cleanings, any random out of pocket expense’s).

    I’m currently doing the Lyft rental. At first I chose the $200 personal miles a week but I kept going over. It was $391 and they charge $26 for every 25 miles you go over. I now have the 325 personal miles a week and the cost is $491. I covered this cost over the weekend and once I covered it I only got $33. The fares be low $3.37 is the lowest fares I’ve gotten. I do this after work and on weekends. I did this so that I can have a vehicle to get to and from work and run errands cause I don’t have a car. I like that you don’t have to pay money up front cause your earnings goes toward the cost of the rental. The only bad thing is that the fares be low and it may seem like a long time to cover the cost of the rental. Like you’ll literally be driving all day. Oh and you have to give 20 rides per week to keep using the vehicle.

  • @EliteEssenceCollection
    @EliteEssenceCollection 10 месяцев назад +7

    Not worth it at all. Car costs $480 a week (it’s electric so charging pass is included in this price)
    I’m seeing $2-$3 trips $20 trips going 40+ miles. For me I can’t do it. Week 1 I made $45 AFTER paying for the rental before it reset again for another $480 you can’t cash out until it’s paid so you literally aren’t making any money until the car is paid for. And again they are giving you $2-$3 trips so your going a hell of a lot of trips to make that money. It’s a huge waste I’m pissed I wasted my time I certainly feel used for sure. I’m coming from UBER hertz Tesla program. I’m driving 2023 Hyundai Kona electric ($480 a week) I was driving 2023 Tesla Model 3 for $380-$420 a week and making $700-$900 a week I’d have the car paid off in literally 1 day with Uber because I was making so much. Lyft cars are standard Lyft pricing where Tesla is Uber comfort so I able to pick what I wanted to do. $15 minimum is what I would take anything less I didn’t waste my time. On Lyft express drive you better be grateful to get a $15 ride and it’s going To be $15 for 25 miles lol it’s so laughable.
    I can’t turn this car in fast enough tomorrow.
    Just compared 1 week on Uber I worked 17 hours 33 rides made $645 average 4 hours a day 5 days 2 days off
    Lyft express drive
    Worked 15 hours 33 rides made $420 my rental that week cost $370 😂😂 also drove 6 days laughable
    People think the answer is working harder… hell no.. the answer is DONT ALLOW THESE COMPANIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. Even with Uber at this point I’m going to just get a black eligible car and put it on there as a fleet vehicle. $650 a week from someone else driving it works for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • @ghostrider2664
    @ghostrider2664 Год назад +25

    I rented a car from Lyft . They said drive it for the weekend, see how you like it and your "program", i.e. personal vs. work miles will start on Monday. Sounded good so I did. But they started charging me personal miles immediately. Then, I couldn't make any money until I paid off the weekly rental fee. Which meant I couldn't put gas in the car to continue working, because they took all my earnings for the day. So basically, it's a scheme to get you to front the gas money so you can work for nothing. Oh....AND THEY REDUCE your fares. So good luck EVER making up the rental fee. You won't. Then they stick you with the tab after you turn it back in and complain. And you must pay that cancellation early term and remaining balance before you can start earning your own money again. It's a scam. A racket. And a great way to thin the herd when there are too many drivers on the road. Plus, since they run their own rental program inhouse, they can abuse you as they like, lie to you, and there's nothing you can do. Lyft is WAY worse than Uber. At least with this bullshit sucker trap. I really look forward to the day they go under. Shouldn't be long now.

    Lyft flex car rental program is the worst crap. DO DO IT!!! You make no money, you will work for them while you slave driving. Praying no accidents, you don't get hurt. They said i went over my personal miles and they changed me $179 for the week, mind you i was at 15 personal miles out if 25 so explained to me how i went over and this was day 1 and I been driving for few weeks now. Hidden fees of commerical insurance, something called card rate? If you can get a car for few hundred dollars a month and do it on the side maybe. But as far as doing make money long term hell no. They charging me $266 with 25 personal miles a week that they lie stating i went over. Plus the hidden fees

      Na, not hardly my guy. If you're driving for Lyft full time, you'll no doubt make what you need that week, and then some. You have to treat Lyft like a 9-5 if you're renting without a full time job, or if you're working a 9-5, driving for Lyft and its rental program is definitely earning you money

      Shidd $1,000 a month. Hell that’s almost as much as driving your own car making payments once you’re including insurance. Most car payments are 500-700 a month plus insurance which can run 250 and up. Plus maintenance. I look at like it’s a win and win. You just gotta know how to hustle and move. A friend of mines has been doing this for 6 years. And he’s making 1,200 in one weekend. So it’s very possible you just gotta be on your grind

      You pay nothing upfront. Sounds great eh? It is! If you plan on stealing the car. Because that's the only way you will make a profit without fronting your own money for gas until you pay off the rental fee. It's a total trap and scam. They will stick you with a balance of thousands of you keep trying too.....there's no way to win. It's a rigged game. Try it. You'll see.
