Yes, it is possible to get a job in Canada as a university professor or lecturer with your qualifications!
However, the process can be competitive. Here's what you need to know:
Job Search: Start by looking for academic positions in Canadian universities that match your expertise in ECE. Websites like HigherEdJobs.ca or the University Affairs portal are great places to find opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements: You may need to meet additional requirements such as having Canadian equivalency for your degree (through services like WES Canada), and you may need to prove your teaching experience.
Work Permits: To work in Canada, you'll need a work permit. If you're applying for permanent residency through the Express Entry system (Federal Skilled Worker Program), having a job offer can boost your chances.
Academic Credentials: Some universities may prefer candidates with a PhD, though with your master's degree and experience, you could still qualify for positions as a lecturer or in teaching-focused roles.

To pursue a career as a college or university professor in Canada with your qualifications, here are the key steps:
Assess Eligibility: With a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a 2-year postgraduate diploma from a Canadian college, you are primarily eligible for lecturer positions in colleges, particularly in technical or diploma programs. University professor roles typically require a doctoral degree.
Gain Relevant Experience: Your experience in the construction field can be valuable, especially for teaching practical or applied courses in colleges. Consider gaining more teaching or academic experience.
Further Education: For university professor roles, consider pursuing further education like a master's or a Ph.D. in your field. This is usually a requirement for university-level teaching positions.
Networking and Professional Development: Build your network in the academic community and stay updated with developments in your field. Attend conferences, workshops, and consider engaging in research or academic writing.
Explore Job Opportunities: Look for job openings in colleges that align with your expertise and educational background. Your Canadian education and work experience can be advantageous in this regard.
Understand Immigration Requirements: If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, ensure you understand and comply with the necessary work and immigration requirements to work in Canada.

No, but you will apply through the Express Entry, the older, the lower your score.

To become a professor in Canada with your qualifications, you generally need to:
Earn a PhD: Most college and university professor positions in Canada require a Doctorate degree in the relevant field, in your case, likely a PhD in Mathematics.
Gain Teaching Experience: While pursuing your PhD or afterwards, gain teaching experience. This is often a requirement for academic positions.
Research and Publications: Engage in research and publish your work. Academic positions often require demonstrated research ability and contributions to your field.
Apply for Positions: Look for job openings in Canadian universities and colleges. Each institution will have its own application process and requirements.
Consider Immigration Requirements: If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you will need to obtain a work permit. In many cases, employers will assist in this process once you have a job offer.
Professional Certification: In some cases, especially for colleges and technical institutions, additional professional certification may be required or beneficial.
Networking and Academic Involvement: Participate in academic networks, conferences, and societies related to your field. This can improve your visibility and chances of securing a position.

Thank you for your question! 😊
With your 9 years of experience, you may be eligible for both Lecturer and Assistant Professor positions in Canada, depending on the institution. Full Professor roles usually require more experience and research credentials. Focus on applying for Assistant Professor or Lecturer roles, and you can work your way up! Good luck!

Yes, with 8 years of experience as a university professor and lecturer, you have better chances of finding a job in Canada. Your experience and qualifications can make you an attractive candidate for academic positions in Canadian universities or colleges. However, the specific requirements and eligibility criteria may vary by institution and province, so it's important to research and apply to suitable positions and immigration programs accordingly.

You can certainly explore opportunities to immigrate to Canada as a university or college professor in Accounting or Finance. Here are some steps to consider:
Credential Evaluation: Get your degrees evaluated by an agency like World Education Services (WES) to understand their Canadian equivalency.
Job Search: Start applying to universities and colleges in Canada. Look for openings on academic job boards and institutional websites.
Express Entry: Consider applying through the Express Entry system, particularly the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Ensure you meet the language proficiency requirements (IELTS or CELPIP).

Best of luck with your journey!
