Is it normal to fall in love with this kid in 5 mins?? 😀 He is such a smart happy little person. Mom is so loving, just the way she looks at him tells the story❤️❤️. This doc is so gifted. Thank you for sharing!
That little boy is very helpful to all of us mothers learning about this syndrome and he should be very proud of himself
Thank you for this video, the interaction was very natural and I was so relieved to see how the child was comfortable enough to share his thoughts with an adult in front of a camera. Very well done Dr Woods!
So smart, so funny, so outgoing. God bless him.
This young man is very smart actually!
Started this therapy for my daughter, bringing awareness to her made her tics worse
This was really interesting, thank you. I may be able to apply this thinking to help me control my own tourette tics, but if nothing else, I have a starting point to work from.
Same here. A starting point that is better than having nothing else. I began ticing loud and about two months ago. I put this to practice where i now notice my tics have gone down.
What an awesome bright boy very intelligent
Wondering if we could view a follow up to see how Octavian has progressed and to see how successful he has been with this treatment. Also curious to see if he's struggling with any new tics or if he's had any other diagnosis.
He copies body language if you guys didn’t notice . Subconsciously it’s amazing
I’m a 72 year old woman. I noticed tics near the age of 50 after 30 years of extreme stress. I had a breakdown and my tics keep increasing. First, upper body shrugging. Then throat noises and throat clearing. And now the addition of nose sniffing. All 3 exhausting and embarrassing. I don’t feel good before, during or after. (Well, unless I’m speaking to someone, they don’t stop). I talk to myself almost nonstop as it is less exhausting than the tics. I also have severe all body chronic pain. Suicidal for 22+ years. Breaks my heart to see young people suffering so long.
I developed a nose sniff, face twitch and grunt for a while while extremely stressed. I still the face twitch when I eat.
I've decided to OWN it😂. It's what makes me, me
Thank you!
Very cute. Body tells me that involuntary movement is going to happen. All the best, Everyone likes struggler and winner
My G-son has tics in doing some kind of gesture and yelling a word out or just a shout. I remember when his mom 1st noticed that she didn’t know at that time about Tourette and she got freaked out by his gesture and just asked him “why you doing that? WHAT IS THAT? 😨🥺”
Then when he yelled out of no where she asked him “why you shouting stop doing that!”
The gesture he does is with his ears. He either twist his ears or he flaps it really fast with his hands. I then educated his mom that I believe thats a mild Tourette syndrome. He does not do the yelling and the gesture at the same time; it’s always separate gestures and never know when he’s going to do that. He’s 11 can he be helped?
Yes he definitely can be helped! Both of our daughters have Touretts Syndrome. My oldest daughter started having tics at age 6 but they were mild and was just facial tics. The doctor said that it would go away as she got older but after she turned 13 yrs old they have gotten 10 times worse. She now has tic attacks, vocal and motor tics. And our 2nd daughter just started having tics at 11 years old but they're very mild and manageable she doesn't even know she's doing a humming tic. They're father has mental disorders along with Touretts Syndrome so I was surprised when our daughters both had it. The best thing that your daughter can do is to get him diagnosed with his Touretts Syndrome if he has it. Talk with his regular doctor and get him in to see a therapist. That is how we got our daughters diagnosed with D.I.D, Touretts Syndrome, ADHD, PTSD, Generalized Anxiety disorder. The therapist can help with how to help your grandson. Fidget toys and sensory toys are great to get a child with tics (TS) and can help calm them down and make his tics less. Hope this helps 🙏
@@type1d760 so i think you know your stuff. is hair twirling a tic? i seem to do it a lot. its gotten really bad. my parents always yell me to stop it. one time i twirled it too much and my mom had to cut it off. she said it looked burnt. my parents always try to threaten me and say they will shave my hair off. but they don't. they think i have anxiety but i know i don't. so my hair twirling gotten really bad. so is hair twirling a tic?
I don't know about anyone else and as strange as it may seem
I've noticed eating certain foods makes tics worse, Fruit is one of them.
this is me. i knew on the inside i was a genius. i communicate with gang signs and im also mute. sometimes its hard to communicate with the person in front of me. i throw up westside on both hands then criss cross my forearms like a X. been fighting covid for years. best attack is 3rd eye forearm rocket testing background. and chaotic imagination attack. so where is the eye spot located at?
i turn back into 1st grade butters in 2020 my duality clone.
I enjoyed this but don’t think me nor my g-sons mom can do those exercises with him
I've been in a bad tourette for a long time, sometimes I feel that it's no use to enjoy life anymore 😩.
Treatment with drugs is also futile
Maybe someone can help give me suggestions for getting rid of this disease. I just want to enjoy a normal life like other people too
Please help a solution 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I want to recover
edy krishna I also feel like this!! It’s so discouraging and it’s all I ever do and think about 😩😞
There is no cure you just have to embrace it

Hope you are doing well. I am rooting for you
From my experience, my son has tourette and he eats gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, cafeine free, and he is in cbd (endocanabidol treatment) the improvement has been wonderful. is really worth to try and you would surprise how many healthy things you can eat.
Hi my name is Morgan I was curious if there was any way I can contact you are one of you
Can anyone tell me what word the gentleman says at 41:49
I think he said stereotypy
Non stop tics
It’s not good for him to suppress them though
This isn’t about suppression. This is about redirecting to a less obvious movement while satisfying the urge.
