I’ll never forget my first time riding this coaster. My ex girlfriend is in a wheelchair and wanted to ride the rollercoaster. At the time it was new and I wasn’t up for doing loops or corkscrews yet. We got up to the ride and I flat out refused to go on the ride, and she called me a coward. When a woman in a wheelchair is braver than you as a teenage man, you gotta do it, no matter what. So I boarded the coaster and I looked like I was facing a firing squad. The coaster shot us in and I absolutely loved it. The best part was that as the corkscrew concluded the ride, in the dark room you sit in after the final break run, somebody a few seats back screams out, “Oh My God, I peed my pants!” And everybody died laughing. From that day forward, I never felt afraid of most coasters ever again. Flight of Fear is probably my favorite coaster.
Back in October, we went to King's Island for the first time. I searched up videos on this, but they didn't do it justice. I didn't know what I was in for, but I feel like something broke in me. (in a good way) This is also one of my favorite coasters, and I'm so glad I got to experience this.
This is such an underrated coaster! It's still one of my favorites....during its opening summer I stood in line for almost 5 hours to ride it. The friend I went with was very sadly murdered by her soon to be ex-husband about 10 years ago....so it's an especially cherished memory and I always ride it when I visit King's Island in her honor.

Before hitting the unloading station, a small alien figure can be seen sitting to the right of the cars near a control panel, but it is not made clear if this is the same alien who has been making announcements in the loading station. Another alien can be spotted near the end of the ride. Right before the cars approach the unloading station, the figure can be seen to the right, which is also the same side the riders exit at the unloading station. Its really fun! I am not really big on scary coasters and nearly chickened out on this but said SCREW it and road it and now its my top favorite coaster. The lights are normally off so you dont see a DAMN THING 😂 that actually helped me cause im also not big on loops either.
Samantha Marcum cool to know it’s like I really enjoyed space mountain it’s basically a regular roller coaster with I believe with two lift hills and is also in the dark. So next time I go to kings island I might get on it. It’s like I’ve rode mystic timbers, backlot stunt coaster , the formerly fairly odd coaster. Sorry I can’t remember the name of it. And flying ace airial chase.
Depends. This is way scarier than space mountain! It has loops, space mountain doesnt. You should be able to handle it though, the fact that it’s dark means it’s not as bad.
It looks freaking awesome
We need to wear the official daVideo Camera Glasses on this ride!
Would I be able to use this in a review of flight of fear that I am making? I will give full credit.
As long as you give me credit, yes. Thanks for asking!
I really want to try this coaster but the loud noises the entire way through the que give me a panic attack before I reach the front.
just like the joker jinx at six flags but outside
pixel watch jinx is a clone of it, there's also one in Japan called crazy cobra I believe .
Bob, your videos are my favorite ones to watch of the like-minded videographers. Did you know it's the same model as Poltergeist at Fiesta Texas? Also, how did you get the lights on the footage? Very nice!
Thank you, Keith! I wasn't aware of this ride being the same as Poltergeist, but I know that there were others in other parks. The lights-on tour was part of Kings Island's Coasterstock event, which includes several behind-the-scenes tours.
Awesome video bob i like the ending too that was good.
Thank you!
Was this called Outer Limits at one point?
One time I rode this and my mom had her (mostly empty) drink cup on the floor during the ride, turns out it wasn't as empty as she thought and she didn't even notice until we were walking out that her jeans were covered in pop lol
I need to try this ride
Agreed it’s the only coaster in the park that I haven’t ridden
Last time I rode this the ride operator was like did you guys want a countdown then sent us off
To people who have rode this before,
Are the drops like other roller coaster drops, or are they not as scary? I rode a roller coaster with an 85 foot drop and it hurt and I about cried so I wanted to know if this is that traumatic lol. Thanks
The ride doesn't have a big drop as much as I remember, it twists and loops a lot tho!
@@ellxelxell maybe the big drop was just a bad experience because I rode the racers and the bat and they had good drops so I think it’s just the difference in the restraints. I’ll ride fof next time probably.
@@helix9049 yeah, I can barely remember it but the drop couldn't have been bigger than the adventure express drop which was still a pretty small ish drop
It also scared me and my sister to death with the first shoot off, and my sister has rode some big coasters, very fun to ride bit almost made me sick with the corkscrews
@@ellxelxell yeah I rode hagrids magical motorbike adventure in universal studios Orlando and the backlot stunt coaster which both go pretty fast and have launches so I’m good with those
Love this coaster!!
