  • sometimes when you put a big cam in, you loose vacuum. this will cause accessories like brake booster to function poorly, or even cease to function. in this episode we address this problem by upgrading the vacuum booster with a hydraulic one. enjoy

    Changing the pin distance is not gonna fix that instant pedal issue. It will only make it feel like it’s not engaging for a bit and then back to instant brake. If you want a longer brake you likely need to change the pedal ratio.

      believe it or not it did the trick perfectly. it’s because the pin was already depressing the plunger on the master. pedal feel is A okay now.

      @@ottohansen4008 that is good to hear, preload on the master is bad. Was it adjustable on that unit or did you have to grind it?

      had to grind it to get the clearance i needed

    great video and installation review. do you know if your brake pedal where the clevis attaches has 2 holes or just 1.

    I have a 65 gto just rebuilt the engine and the rockers are hitting the valve cover so I need tall VCs ones the brake booster is right on top of the VC should I get master cyl & booster do you think I can get just a 7" booster to fit? Thanks

    • @junkbucketgarage
      @junkbucketgarage  2 года назад

      you can get a smaller vacuum booster and should clear no problem. also i got some valve cover spacers instead of taller valve covers. worked great

      @@junkbucketgarage the problem is theres 1/8" distance from the VC driver side, to the booster, & you can hear the rockers tapping the VCs. Im going to remove theVCs and see if theres any marks.
      Im concerend if I buy just a booster it wont match with the master cyl and I hate having to but all new just for that reason I already have a bunch of parts from my redo of the drive line radiator to the differential.
      Thanks for the reply

      if you get a smaller diameter booster that’s for that car you shouldn’t have any problems with it matching up to your master cylinder. good luck 🍀👍

    Good video. What size bore is your master cylinder?
