Thx for your honest review. I’ve been contemplating between medium and large. I think medium and I’ll purchase adjustable strap. Which they do have btw but it’s not in oblique pattern and it’s a lil thinner. I’d suggest flipping the strap hooks outward, it may help to not get stuck. That’s what I do with my coach bags same type of clasp.
This is silly of me to suggest, but a tack shop (as in saddle shop) might have extenders that would work with those brass eyelets. Just harkening back to my horsey days.
I got the bag last week in black.. I was shock about the strap because it longer on the pictures.... but I love the look of the bag... I was looking at getting a longer strap in the future...
I tried this bag before. The SA did mention if you want to wear cross body. You do need to buy the strap that they sell separately. Which is adjustable. Otherwise the strap that come with this bag is just too short and only can wear on your shoulder.
If possible, I would either return the bag or exchange it for the medium; if not possible, I would get a different strap, and I would insist that Dior clean the spot, because the leather should have been treated with a protective film to prevent that type of staining, given the light colour - after all it’s meant to be used. I have 2 Hermes Lindy bags and I adore them - all the negatives you mentioned are nonexistent with the Lindy.
Congrats on your new bag Michele. They do tend to wear crossbody bags higher than in the past that they should go around the hip and I like that, but with this one I don't know. I can wear my Chanel Medium crossbody better than my Jumbo as I am 5.4" and I have to tie the chain inside with the Jumbo. Also the wide strap is a pain, I realised that with Balenciaga older wider straps with the pad which I had to take down. They always leave the shoulder. I wonder why they don't make them so that you can adjust the strap, it is the same with Balenciaga with the ones that have a supposedly adjustable strap. With this one I love love love the strap though. The design is so beautiful. Again enjoy your new bag xx
I love the bag! its more casual than the Chanel. I would go back to Dior regarding the strap. I would wear that with some bagging jeans cuffed, white shirt and some boots!

I absolutely love the simplicity of the bag - it seems like an easy bag to use day to day provided I get the pebbled leather or oblique pattern so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging it. I do think (and hope) it's not a bag that will easily go out of style given its simple but beautiful shape.

I find the strap thing to be comnon among luxury brands. I dont know why they make the straps so short. Does Dior sell a longer strap separately? I know it's kind of annoying because you already just spent all this money on the bag but it might be worth the investment to purchase another strap if it will make the bag more comfortable.
I’ve purchased metal bag strap extenders, which is kind of a pain to match up perfectly, but it has worked to make certain straps more functional, but they seriously should have made that strap much thinner, and adjustable. There’s no reason not to for that price

I’ve done what I’m about to suggest... get yourself two gold chains that you love that have some substance and outfit them with coordinating clasps and you will have a bag you love, that is unique to you and I guarantee you that you will be asked about it all the time! 💞
If you dont like the clip why not take it off and put it around the D ring? I see u can take it off to make it shorter but if u can undo it then i think take the clip off and put it around the D ring will make it a bit shorter since u say over the shoulder is a bit long

The bag is beautiful. Sorry you don't love it as much as you wanted to. I loved your semi-fail pics of trying to wear it like the models did. They should model it on people who weigh more than 100 pounds and have boobs to give us a better idea of what it'll look like. I have a friend who got her first designer bag (a Dooney, so not terribly expensive, but a big deal to her) and got a major ballpoint pen mark on the front right away. She said she was going to use a Magic Eraser to remove it. I begged her not to. She did it anyway. Needless to say, it removed the finish all around the pen mark, and of course, it did not remove the ink. What a mess. So sad. XO Heidi
Finally an honest review. Sometimes we make mistakes sometimes products don’t work out. But I wouldn’t worry about the leather as it will age well, and the scuffs can be buffed out. I would get a nice adjustable white patterned guitar strap that you can crossbody.
Beautiful bag! Interchangeable straps are “in.” So maybe they will create additional straps will other lengths? Otherwise super gorge! I love the mix of the leather bag and jacquard fabric strap.
Michele, was the mark on the bag right from the beginning? Because it could be glue residue (they use some "glue" when they finish the bags); you can bring it into your local Dior Boutique, they can take care of it. It is often overseen in artificial light, that's why the craftsmen/ -women don't notice it right away. So if it was there from the beginning, I would leave it alone, because you could make it worse. 😘❤
Pretty to look at...very Jackie O. However, the opening looks small/stiff and would end up bugging me to the point that I wouldn't carry. So yes, nice on a shelf but I probably wouldn't find myself reaching for it.
The bag is gorgeous....I think it should have come with a shorter leather “shoulder strap” AND a longer fabric strap much more variety in how to style it, however .... regardless of strap type, they most definitely should all be adjustable, I adore the YSL college medium size ... but the long strap can’t be adjusted so for me ... it’s a no go. I don’t understand the non adjustable concept ... it’s like making a dress in a size 6 and saying ok, here everyone wear this 🙄 I’m 5’2” so I’m always “issuing” about lengths 😂😂😂
Personal opinion: strap doesn't fit the look of the bag; flap bags don't appeal/work for me (which is why none of my Chanel bags are flaps); it looks like they took different pieces of bags and threw them all together to get this one. Again, personal opinion. I will say that Dior has, IMHO, the BEST customer service of all the luxury companies out there. They make a quality product, for sure; I just don't feel that THIS bag is one of their better designs. If you love it, that's ALL that matters; if you're not feeling it, send it back. There will ALWAYS be another gorgeous bag to purchase :)
It’s cute, I like the strap design. A little crazy that it isn’t adjustable though! Love the colour, but it does seem delicate, especially with the polished calfskin. I wouldn’t purchase for the reasons you mention.

that’s a great shape ! it reminded me immediately of the celine besace 16 which i’ve admired for ages. celine also has a cream version although again like you i enjoy using beautiful well made goods without babying them too much so that colour wouldn’t work for me. i like having a proper relationship with all my belongings & create memories together. the cognac colour may not be available for the large dior bobby, and i know that for celine in asia, only certain colours are brought in for certain handbag models.
I think this design ( that strap with that bag) is modelled on someone maybe 5'2...and like a size 2...and I'm not a big fan of how high design houses are showing these cross bodies. It's just a design that only works for very petite women, with basically a flat chest. If you like the bag and the strap I'd add gold thick chain extenders on each end of the strap to make it the length that you need. I bought mine off etsy.:)
I think Dior does sell straps separately so Michelle might be able to exchange hers for a normal handbag strap instead of a cross body one. Or exchange the bag itself since it has that mark on it. I think there is elegance in simplicity, which is why this bag doesn't have any additional bells/ whistles/ adjustable straps. But then again, it should fit on the person perfectly. A reputatable, well established luxury brand such as Dior has already thought about these things. I'm sure a solution already exists if she takes it back. 🤞
Did they recently change the strap on this bag? online it is a different one now that IS adjustable and i also just watched a review on this same bag and the girl's bobby large strap was Def adjustable? maybe you should return! i love the bag though!
I’m 48 years old and I’ve pretty much worn cross body bags my entire adult life. I’ve always found them stylish (dressed up or dressed down) and comfortable. Your new bag is lovely, and the “imperfections” would bother me too. But it still looks great on you.
Beautiful bag & I’m so sorry that it’s not exactly what you wanted. Would it lay down better if you attached the clasp the opposite way so that the clasped faced out? It seems like the part that sticks out shouldn’t be laying against the bag & it might sit more naturally if the smooth ring was against the bag. Just an idea!

Purchased the large Dior Bobby in back box leather in December 2020- and i think they fixed the strap issue. my oblique strap that came with my bobby is adjustable and i'm 5'10 and can wear it cross body- maybe you could switch yours out?

I didn’t pull the trigger as the bag is slightly big on me even I’m not petite myself. It just didn’t sit right on my body frame. It’s a very pretty bag; different from what’s trending right now. I’ll watch your video a few more to see if I’ll be “influenced” to get it eventually. :)

Yes.. there are 3 Dior Boutiques in Las Vegas. Crystals, Wynn, and Bellagio. I think Ceasars(Forum Shops) might also have a Dior boutique.

Actually, the opening on the smaller medium size easily accommodates my iPhone 12 Pro Max, so this larger bag opening is not so small.

that’s a great shape ! it reminded me immediately of the celine besace 16 which i’ve admired for ages. celine also has a cream version although again like you i enjoy using beautiful well made goods without babying them too much so that colour wouldn’t work for me. i like having a proper relationship with all my belongings & create memories together. the cognac colour may not be available for the large dior bobby, and i know that for celine in asia, only certain colours are brought in for certain handbag models.

I think this design ( that strap with that bag) is modelled on someone maybe 5'2...and like a size 2...and I'm not a big fan of how high design houses are showing these cross bodies. It's just a design that only works for very petite women, with basically a flat chest. If you like the bag and the strap I'd add gold thick chain extenders on each end of the strap to make it the length that you need. I bought mine off etsy.:)
I think Dior does sell straps separately so Michelle might be able to exchange hers for a normal handbag strap instead of a cross body one. Or exchange the bag itself since it has that mark on it.
I think there is elegance in simplicity, which is why this bag doesn't have any additional bells/ whistles/ adjustable straps. But then again, it should fit on the person perfectly. A reputatable, well established luxury brand such as Dior has already thought about these things. I'm sure a solution already exists if she takes it back. 🤞

Did they recently change the strap on this bag? online it is a different one now that IS adjustable and i also just watched a review on this same bag and the girl's bobby large strap was Def adjustable? maybe you should return! i love the bag though!
I’m 48 years old and I’ve pretty much worn cross body bags my entire adult life. I’ve always found them stylish (dressed up or dressed down) and comfortable. Your new bag is lovely, and the “imperfections” would bother me too. But it still looks great on you.
Beautiful bag & I’m so sorry that it’s not exactly what you wanted. Would it lay down better if you attached the clasp the opposite way so that the clasped faced out? It seems like the part that sticks out shouldn’t be laying against the bag & it might sit more naturally if the smooth ring was against the bag. Just an idea!

Purchased the large Dior Bobby in back box leather in December 2020- and i think they fixed the strap issue. my oblique strap that came with my bobby is adjustable and i'm 5'10 and can wear it cross body- maybe you could switch yours out?

Such a gorgeous bag. Love the address embossed in the back and the reversible strap. I see what you mean though about the functionality of the strap-another longer strap would be a nice fix. Love it!
Hi Michelle, thanks for your review. I noticed that your the oblique strap to your large bobby is not adjustable. I went into Dior this afternoon and tried on the same bag but in black. I didn’t pull the trigger as the bag is slightly big on me even I’m not petite myself. It just didn’t sit right on my body frame. It’s a very pretty bag; different from what’s trending right now. I’ll watch your video a few more to see if I’ll be “influenced” to get it eventually. :)
Although I couldn't afford a handbag like that one, yes for that amt of money it needs to be perfect.
Ridiculous amount of money for a handbag. $5000 Chanel bags, $4000 Dior bags...I must have the wrong job lol
