I switched to Cell after watching your first showcase video! One tip that I would add: I downloaded the addon idTip which displays spell/item IDs to all tooltips which makes it easier when setting up frames instead of constantly going to wowhead
For days i have been procrastinating with getting this addon setup, after you highly recommended it a few weeks ago... This tutorial of yours is a godsend, thank you so much for your work for the healer community 😙
Coming back to WoW I REALLY didn't want to have to setup ElvUI again for all of this once again. Hearing about Cell was a relief, but was a bit of a struggle wrapping my head around it. This video covered everything perfectly and I literally can't thank you enough for this Jak. Thank you so much for all your content and work you do for us healers and for WoW in general.
I JUST started learning how to play Discipline and was banging my head into the wall trying to learn Vuhdo (who the hell thought that options interface was a good idea?!) and Grid. Found Cell in a random recommended RUclips video which brought me here and oh god has my day been made. So easy to customize and such a clean interface. Love it.
That guide was INSANE bro. I am playing resto shaman and had some problems with my UI since i want to make the next step in this expansion and you literally saved me. You earned my sub
This whole time i've been doing clique with Vuhdoo LOL. Cell looks a lot cleaner than Vuhdoo. I like the drop down menu to find you spells you want to bind with "click casting." Thanks Jak
You're the best! I tried your Holy priest talent setup and got KSM in 2 days. Edit for note - I was already at level 4-5 keys and struggling with my old setup. Then a tank yelled at me for having low DPS, I got mad but then watched your video, switched to your setup and then wow, yeah it worked very well. LOL
What is really cool is that you can have an icon / glow / color for a specific DEbuff you need to dispell or deal with in an encounter. Makes it really pop, you just add the spell ID of these and make a list so the effect is the same everytime.
I found myself fed up with vuhdos options menu a few months ago and I also had an issue with it causing incredible client lag during my guilds Smolderon prog, so I spent some time searching for other party frame addons and also settled on Cell, I love seeing this as you were who I initially came to to learn how to set up vuhdo when I began using it, and I appreciate the extra insight on settings I missed. Cell is definitely the GOAT of healing frames.
Hi, thank you for this great video. I switched to Cell a week ago and I really like it. Used Grid2 with Clique before. Also very good but I like Cell a bit more. Take care.
Thanks for the video. The feature with "externals & defensive" is amazing. I used standard blizzard UI and tried to get this with a weak aura.... I definetly will try this addon! All the other features look nice too. The only thing I'm afraid of is setting it all up ;)
Used Grid2 for years. Served me well but was always a nightmare to set up and tweak. Now returning to retail WoW and it finally looks like we having something that's just all-round better. Cell really nailed the settings/config design. Also if it runs better than Grid2, which I suspect it does, then that's very much welcome too.
I swapped to this somewhere midseason 4 of DF from always using Vudho and it's been great, it feels like jumping into the future when comparing those two haha
Loving Cell so far. The settings UI is super clean and easy to use which can't always be said for some, (looking at you VuhDo).... My only critique would be the 'target' frame leaves something to be desired, but that is easily supplemented by something else if you wanted. I personally just use Shadowed Unit Frames strictly for my 'Target' frame.
A bit lost here, under “indicators” at the very bottom you have “Healers”, my cell add-on does not have that section. Is that something seperate to the add on that needs to be downloaded. I got this through curse forge. Thanks in advance!
for the always targeting . . . keep that disabled for your own sanity. if it's on then you will fully target through cell and lose your present target. getting a kind of random target afterwards.
Do you think they might add an npc/private tanks like vuhdo and click have? I just still have vuhdo on with its main pain hidden and private tanks tab on. Would be awesome if you passed the feedback on to include it
Cell is fantastic, my only complaint is that he isn't lightweight at all. I wish there was some saint that would create a config on grid2 that would make it similar to cell, because the performance difference is noticeable
Thanks for the guide Jak, this addon seems great and I might try it out to help me with healing, but is it possible to disable click casting as I prefer to use the default blizzard mouse-over and keybind way
I used grid2 for the longest time and this is quite literally just a more intuitive grid2, so I gotta switch. Thanks for the video edit - also this shit has the Clique addon already in it, this is crazy
Hey Jak. Do you have any suggestions on tracking CD's (example, kicks) with Cell? I used to use method raid tools which allows you to attach the CD frames to Vuhdo, but Cell doesn't appear to be listed as a frame to attach to in the same way.
Do you find Cell to be better than ElvUI? I've been using ElvUI for years now and I'm hesitant to swap away from it, but I really like the simplicity of customization Cell seems to provide that you showed in the video. @@AutomaticJak That is how I feel as well. I might redo my UI for TWW and see if I want to go forward without ElvUI at all, or maybe just substitute Cell in for my party/raid frames as they look a fair amount better than ElvUI's for how much effort I would have to put in to customize them. Thanks for the video, I appreciate it and plan on showing it to the other healers in my raid team so they can check it out as well!
First off, I watch all your videos, you've helped me so much! I've gone from a healer scared to get into M+ to getting into the top 1% every season of DF with your videos, tips tricks and more. Now for the question since this is a "cell" video...I can't for the life of my figure out something with the cooldown trackers. I have them all set up, and they show up when being used BUT, can you get them to always stay visible and possibly only glow when being used by party members? Specifically being able to know what tank CD's are available to use. I know this is something omni cd does, but wondering if Cell has it too? Much Love Jack, keep pumping out those healer videos!
There's a nice snippet on the discord for enabling clicked/clique if you are like me and already have all your mouseover keybinds setup and don't want to change them over.
This may be a dumb question - I currently use OmniCD for many different CD's, both buffs and de-buffs. And is tied heavily into ElvUI. I'm trying to shift away to use Cell for healers.
An oddity I notice in most raidframes and specifically with healers is that most people always show themselves first/show themselves in raidframes in all contents yet they also have a personal bar for themselves, like how the base ui has a frame for you and your target. If you're always showing yourself in your party or raid frames why even bother having the identical information twice, just eliminate the personal bar altogether
I've been doing my best to adjust to Cell and for the most part, a fantastic transition. So much more info in a better format than Healbot that Ive used since Legion. But I cannot for the life of me get it to show keybindings like Healbot. I play so many healer classes that I forget which go where...what am I missing?
Thank you for the guide. I tried to go away from elvui since the UI rework from blizzard. But healing required a bit more info and WA is very heavy. So maybe I'm going to try this one
Thanks for the great video Jak! I just had one question, after I imported the cell profile I found that my party members icons are not over their frame, so say, my hunter's icons will be over my tanks, etc. Is there a way to re-position the icons so they're in the correct players frame?
Hi not sure if you addressed if Cell shows predicted incoming heals from other healers, a big reason of why I've used Vuhdo forever. Shows player's missing health and can set a different color for the incoming heals. If I'm a bit slow or busy i know they are covered and don't overheal or whatever.
I am currently using Grid2 and have been since I started healing in around December of last year. I have learned 90% of it but found out more this morning in fact which is awesome. This close to an expansion I will forgo going with Cell but its great that you will have this video here and link it Cell so I can choose it if I wish. Maybe end of season one of War Within and also after watching you stream with it I will like what I see. :D
@@Skiptoomyl0u Cool. I may at some point. No need to stress myself about changing currently since I know I will have to alter Jak's setup since we all like our own. :)
Hey jack, to start i gotta thank you for introducing this addon to us and i'm so appreciative of your content whether it's streaming, guides etc... although i have a question about Cell, whenever i open the cell panel and for example i open up the map or something else, Cell overlaps and it doesn't let me see what's underneath the panel, couldn't find a fix for it :/ and thank you for your time ^^.
Jak as a restro druid I like keeping track of my lifebloom, I'd like to keep it with the default HoT's so it moves over with the rest of my HoT's, however I'd actually like my lifebloom indicator to show up larger than the others just to have an easier time tracking it. I know I can set it to always be in a certain position but I feel like it would be easier just to have this one larger so I can just quickly glance and know im good. Is this possible?
Hi Jak, great video mate. For some reason the Cell profile from your website doesn't seem to be importing correctly. any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks for this mate - big help! Just a quick question, I am having an issue where where a buff such a natures swiftness etc is appearing really large to the left of my party frame. Any ideas?
I clicked on this video thinking, "Let me go watch Jak's commercial for Cell." I am 2m44s into the video and am like, "Oh, I like that. Oh, I like that too." So, I apologize for the "judgment" you knew nothing about. I am looking forward to the rest of the video.
Thanks Jak, I haven't watched the whole video yet but I will, just curious if you show how to use raid leader tab that this add-on over writes, like world markers, countdown, ready check etc?
Two quick questions: Is there a way to set up an audio trigger when someone has a debuff dispellable by you? Is there a way to add a flashing border to the frame when someone has a debuff dispellable by you? I have debuffs set so I can dispel easily in Cell but sometimes have a hard time seeing the color differentiation for the player unit. As such I'm still using Decursive, but would love to get rid of it.
I gave it a go, but I'm so stuck on key buffs being a progress bar. As far as I could see, I couldn't do that in Cell so I'm back to Grid2 despite the time necessary to set it all up. Cell's UI was far more intuitive though.
Does cell allow for basic mouse-over party frame casting without making a macro for every spell and without having to click-cast? I want to be able to mouse-over all my heals using my party frames, but I don't want mouse over to be active when just holding cursor over a players character for example. Only the party frames, while also overriding my current target. I have always been able to do this with vuhdo, but I've never enjoyed vuhdo's user interface.
I am loving cell, I just have 1 question and I haven't been able to figure it out. I have my bars where I like them for 20 man mythic but for heroic/epic battle battlegrounds, I have the bars continue off my screen. Is there a way to create a second grouping of bars for raid groups 5-8? so they sit above groups 1-4?
Is there a way to default target self if you're not mousing over a friendly or a frame? Like if I wanted to heal myself, do i HAVE to hover over my model / frame? Or is there a way to auto-self cast if my cursor is on, say, an enemy or just the environment? Also, are there only friendly spells for clickcasting? Why aren't there enemy spells as well? E.g. hovering over an enemy and clicking the assigned hotkey to interrupt.
how do you change orientation of health loss (so its like the default frames), and how do you show the shield amount on the frames, like a discolored bar?
Yes! I switched to Cell after your previous video on healer frames, and could really use the guidance. Appreciate you, Jak! ❤
You're so welcome!
You just watched a 30 min long guidance. What more can you ask LOL
