    Why do millennials have so much beef with us 😭

    • @rosieisupwaytoolate
      @rosieisupwaytoolate 7 дней назад +15

      As a millennial: Good fucking question. My theory is partly that I think most of my peers have just hit that age where they are now insecure as FUCK about not being society's hit trend setters anymore (generally speaking), and anybody younger saying the things they like or grew up with suck seems to strike a BIG nerve. Like, way more than it reasonably should be, for some reason. Are we really that terrified of getting old...? Then again, the state of the beauty industry answers that one for me all by itself, I suppose.
      My trick is that I've always been uncool, even to my OWN generation, so I just, y'know, learned how to grow up and be comfortable in my own skin, AND how to love and appreciate the styles of others, rather than lashing out at them due to some persecution complex. Like, some of these folks out here be really fucking adorable. Let's say random kind stuff in person more often and encourage each other all more openly, generation be damned. Because another learned skill is just telling people when I like something about them. Anything. Why? Because at worst it's minorly awkward if the person is really bad at taking a compliment (like I used to be, so I get that), and at best you make somebody feel really good about themselves for a moment. For example, I saw a slightly younger dude stop a woman who was rushing along and dropped her phone in a large crowd, even though he had to yell and chase after her a bit to get it to her. When I walked past him, I smiled, and I said "Thanks man, we need more of you in the world!" When a little kid tried to open the door in front of me and couldn't quite figure it out, but the door opened anyways (automatic door, lol), I still turned around, looked at him, smiled, and said "Thank you very much for your help, sweetheart! We really appreciate it!"
      In short, we millennials need to get over our collective persecution complexes and just live our lives. Gen Z is not our enemy. Gen Alpha is not our enemy. NO entire generation is our enemy. INDIVIDUALS suck sometimes. But you can't reasonably blame a WHOLE GENERATION for that. That's both immature and fucked up.
