Police K9 Graduation Ceremony

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, two new Police Service Dogs (PSD) graduated from their training.
Deputy Chief Marc Andrews presented “Kylo” and “Stark” with their badges followed by a canine demonstration.
Both Police Service Dogs are 2 year old Belgian Shepherds from Holland. The two canine teams have completed 16 weeks of intense training in the disciplines of tracking, evidence recovery, building searches, and suspect apprehension and are now certified for general patrol. Next year, Kylo and Stark will begin training to be certified in a detection specialty.
They will now join 11 other canine teams that provide a vital service to our community and play an integral role in our commitment to public safety.
