Badger's passing is so sad, but it's good that this type of story is still included in the show. It's hard, but not everyone gets a happy ending, and those stories should be shown and remembered just the same as the others. It's the sad reality of the world that we can't ignore.
I lost a collie-mix to a slow-growing tumor like this. It was inoperable because of the area and the size when found. His heart and lung capacity were affected by it and he would not have survived the surgery. He was a happy boy despite the tumor and we decided to just let it go until his quality of life was too affected. He was over 12-years-old when I finally had to make the decision to put him to sleep.
That’s so difficult to do, I know that. My cat had a tumor in his mouth and at same point were he had to much trouble eating and just lying under my bed all day, we decided to go to the animal doctor for the last time with him, that was one of the worst days in my life!
My mom took my first dog in to the vets and they put him to sleep without letting me say goodbye. I'm 66 and it still hurts a bit. I hope the mom can explain to her kids that she's as devastated as they are.
This happened to me two I’m 15 and it happened 5 years ago my mum took him to the vet when I went to school and he had to be put down I didn’t get to say goodbye. Then about 3 years ago we had another dog who was aggressive towards our dog we have had since I was 2 and my dad and brother one morning just decided to take him to a shelter me and my mum didn’t get to say goodbye it still make me cry a lot
@@daniellecroteau7628 I know it hurt a lot, but it sounds like there wasn't a choice if the tumor opened. I'm sorry you didn't get to say goodbye. It hurts. 💕💕
@Jackie Frank my first cat, Smudge, and I were the same age. She died when we were 20... I blamed myself, but my family said she died of old age. I'm 38 now and still miss her so very much! You really never forget your first cat....
I'm crying I lost my dog a year ago and it's horrible to loose a pet that you've had since it was a baby such devastating news god bless you Scott you tried everything you can
I lost my Lucy March 28, 2020, I miss her everyday. I have an altar for her with with flickering candle type. She was given to me when my Tibetan Terrier passed. I wasn't able to feel the way I do now because I had my new 8 week old Lucy. We both learned a lot from each other. She learned a large vocabulary. I was able to make stories about anything else. I also have the same vocabulary with my 2 🐕, one is a fearful boy.
Totally crying over my lunch watching this heartbreaking episode. I could really see Dr. Scott's personal sadness and disappointment; it's clear that he really cares for all his patients and does his very best. At the same time, I do appreciate that this show does not shy away from reality and I appreciate the family for allowing it to be shown.
Man, I saw ur comment and stopped reading anymore before I watched. My heart is broken for his poor family. I can’t imagine being a vet and having to go through these horrid times. So sad.
My heart bleeds for each sad story, but rejoices for the fur babies and their human parents.. or any critter. Joy and pain are a part of life and pain comes love… wish our humans could be so close! Past time for me to get my antidepressant down or I’ll be bawling:(
Watching this broke my heart. I worked for years as a vet tech & losing any animal is so tough. It never gets easy & it really did effect our days. Most people think vets don't care that much bc it does happen, but all the Drs I've worked for always took it hard. Vet techs too. Sending love to the owner
Jennifer B;. Thank you for sharing your insight into vet personnel and their emotions with their patients. It is appreciated to know most genuinely care and that experience does not always numb them to what they do. I've found most vets and staff to remain caring and very effective. Bless them and bless you!.
My favorite part of this show is that they don't skimp on the terminology and explain illnesses and procedures. I'm in love with Smudge and I'm still crying about Badger...
That's the hardest part about being a vet---having to deliver heartbreaking news to the owners. I had to do it as a vet tech. That's why I'm no longer in the profession. Poor Badger. The kitten is adorable though. (Jan Griffiths).
Hi, Jan. I'm in Vet Tech training. Losing an animal under my care and having to break it to the owners is my biggest fear about going into practice in February.
I teared up and felt my stomach sink when i heard the phone call. I cant imagine getting that call, hoping to hear good news. I'm so sorry for Sarah and badger.
This made me cry so sad and you can see how personal Scott to his patience you could see where they tryed to bring badger back keep up the good work Scott you are a amazing VET
Soo sad about Badger. But he's running without pain now on rainbow bridge. Love to all the carers and lovers of the other animals (besides us) on the planet.
It's heartbreaking to see it when they don't make it through surgery but I'm glad it's included in this. Instead of just happy endings we see how real life is.
I must say.. Allie deserves a huge hug. She’s so so sweet and absolutely the best furbaby mom. If I was there I’d have to meet her. She seems like a true person.. no matter what, she’ll always be direct and sweet.
I love watching your videos because you show the real life success and tragedies of being a vet. Not every story has a happy ending. But the success is so heart warming. I love all the vets of the show. Jean from Houston Texas.

So sad for Badgers family and Scott and his team. Its good to see that not every case works out perfectly, it keeps the show realistic, but it is very sad and heartbreaking for everyone involved.
I love that he is taking in rescue chicken. I got some myself and it's very rewarding...to see them scratching and sunbathing and running and enjoying themselves.
Scott, you are such a great vet. I would entrust you with any of my animals. Something's just happen and that's apart of the practice. You tried your best to help this doggie and everyone can see how much you care. We still love you.
I appreciate you Scott. You have a huge heart. I love it when you kiss the dogs and cats. You care about the patient and owners and your staff. It shows. I like being hung your family into the episodes. You have a beautiful family😎❤️

My heart is broken over death of Badger. What a sad thing it is to lose such a precious pet. Dr. Scott is such a wonderful vet. You can tell he truly cares about his patients. He also seems to be a great father too! I love that he and his family are giving those feathered ladies a new lease on life!! Love this show!
I had a dog that was the Love of my life. Toby Tyler. He broke his back and was in so much pain I had to have him put down. I have never cried so much in my life. The vet couldn't fix it.
Dr Scott is such a wonderful person and vet. He definitely took it hard that Badger didn't make it. Me too I'm crying already. With Badger being 12 years old. It was a risk to do the surgery. His heart couldn't withstand the sedation. In older dogs it's hard on them. Their heart isn't strong enough. Poor Badger he could have lived a few more years. This Shih Tzu reminds me of my aunt's little pixie! She was the runt of the litter and had this huge head. Crazy bug eyes that went both ways, a small and squished nose that was crooked. She was hand fed and kept in her shirt to keep her alive. She still makes that sound but not as bad. We never wanted to breed her because of her conditions. I love them.
I'd had my Westie, Mac, since I was 8.5 years old. I'd grown, joined the Forces, then my Daddy had to make that call to me. I'd lost my best friend. So my heart goes out to the children now bereft of their best friend and the parent who had to break the news. Rescue hens are always up to mischief. Our dearest hope is to now be able to turn their home into into a fox/badger proof Fort Knox. A fox did somehow get in and my husband wouldn't let me see the result. Two were alive but so traumatised that we took them to our get who very gently authanaised them. It was heart breaking. Our vet too was visibly upset. So, we know your lovely Ladies will have a wonderful life. Enjoy those golden eggs and of course, all the help you will get gardening!
I'm absolutely heartbroken over the loss of Badger! Prayers for the poor family and Dr Scott who worked so hard to save him. I'm crying for Badger, poor baby. Cancer is awful. I lost a beagle years ago and even though we have four now, I think of Meggie often and I'm glad she didn't suffer for very long. Our pets leave a lasting impression in our hearts and I'm glad ours have had and will continue to have a safe, happy and loving home for as long as they live. ❤
Our sweet miracle cat died in 2020 of cancer. Miracle because at 7 weeks old, fleas were eating her so much that she only had 4% red blood cells. I had many people pray for her and she survived. She was healthy from then on (even had good teeth!) until she was 16 1/2 years old. Vet looked in her mouth and saw what looked like squamous cell carcinoma. Inoperable. That was April. She turned 17 in July and held on until October. She was so special. I loved her dearly.
So sad that you lost Badger. It was a very painful, huge tumor grown back for the 3rd time. You and your staff did the very best at trying to revive him. I was in tears about it all. You know as a vet that all can’t be saved. You folks do an amazing work with all who come thru your Vet Clinic! I watch your videos every day! W
its so heart-braking. I have a golden retriever with a sarcoma, its still smaal, but can't be operated on, she is 11years old and has chf as well. so we are keeping her as comfortable as possible until the time comes. thanx for sharing these stories with us.
So so sorry Scott!! But you did everything you could do for Badger and we know you truly tried to save him. So sorry Sarah for your devastating loss. I was so sad seeing Scott and Nathan being so sad 😢.
So sad this episode with Badger. I love that .. beautiful kitten. I'm glad Smudge got a good home. Years ago me and the kids came back from swimming and heard meowing then saw this little adorable tiny black kitten in the bush above the house on top of the hill. Yeah Ali what a great neighbor for Scott, Zoe, the kids, and dogs, chickens.
I'm glad they show the ups as well as a down every once in awhile. Not everything is sunshine and happiness in vet work sometimes and I'm glad they are being real. My heart goes out to Badger's family.
OH my goodness, I'm crying for the dogs parents, his children that loved him. Scott is absolutely devastated. I wish he come over across the pond a open a practice here. We seem to have vet's that are wanting money more than caring for the patients. We need more vet's that care about the Animals, I the money.
I just saw it that Badger passed away on the surgery table. So sad and so heartbreaking. Scott as a Australian vet he got a strong heart but that also broke his heart and mine too. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 R.I.P
Poor Badger reminded me of my mini schnauzer Joey. I think he had the same kind of tumor, too. I had to say goodbye when operating on the tumor was too risky (age and other health problems) and not financially possible. I still miss him.
There are times I cannot continue to watch, the cases are so heartbreaking, so sad. But, Scott is such an extraordinary Vet we know things will get better..

I cried when badger couldn't be brought back. He crossed the rainbow bridge and is playing with my sweet boston boy who passed in september. Do vets charge for the operation when the pet doesn't make it through surgery?

There are times I cannot continue to watch, the cases are so heartbreaking, so sad. But, Scott is such an extraordinary Vet we know things will get better..
So Sorry About " Badger ". Dog's Are Truly A Gift.
Poor Scott he has so much heart and love with all his patients
Oh I pray the family that adopted the kitten keep her indoors!!

So cute - I love how he is with his kids too.
Animals are SO trusting. Why should they have to suffer and not even know what it is giving them pain.❤
Aww I'm so sorry this has happened what a beautiful little dog 😭😭😭
Cookie is by far the cutest little gremlin I have ever seen 😂 all the similar dogs in my neighborhood are absolute terrors lol
I cried when badger couldn't be brought back. He crossed the rainbow bridge and is playing with my sweet boston boy who passed in september. Do vets charge for the operation when the pet doesn't make it through surgery?
Generally, yes. They incurred the costs of drugs, staff time, etc. If they know they messed-up, generally they won't charge.
@@4cornersgalsst415 Thanks for answering. The poor owners.
