Man the guy should have given you the boat… you’ve done a great job on this boat man. Mad props!
@@jerrysmith7166 I appreciate it!!!
What a great series/project. You don’t let perfection be the enemy of good. You got the boat improved enough to start enjoying it right away. Nice work!
Thanks, Mike! I appreciate that, it’s been so much fun to work on. Glad you enjoyed!
Good job 👏🏿
Awesome job! Easily one of the most satisfying restorations I've had the pleasure of watching!
Impressive job. Nice boat pal.
Thank you!
Hey suggestion for the deck. You should put down some of those kitchen rubber mats, the kind they have in restaurants, with the holes. This allows all the blood and debris to go through the holes and keeps feet and other abrasive objects off the deck. Then you can just remove them and hose the deck down :) My uncle used them on his boat and they were AMAZING.
That’s a great idea, I hadn’t thought of that! Thanks for the suggestion!
Nice job 👍
Good for you man. I'm just starting a refurbish project on a 50 year old cc older than me! It's hard to know where to start. Gotta take the time to enjoy it along the way so we don't just see work
Couldn’t agree more!
GOod job.
I've heard you shouldn't glass down a center console because the constant stress and strain will crack the glass at the edges. You should instead screw it down and seal the edges. So just keep an eye out for cracks at the base I suppose.
Thanks for the advice!! After reading I decided to reinstall the metal brackets over the fiberglass to make sure it doesn't crack or move. I appreciate it!
A good way to cut down on how much fairing compound you use. Is to chop up some fiber glass and make a thicken resin mix and put it into a a ziplock bag and cut corner out. You can fill up a lot of low spots with the thicken resin then fair
Great advice, thank you!
I don't think people understand how much beating a boat takes. Bubbles makes the curing process weak. So you might enjoy the boat for a year or two until everything starts cracking apart. Doesn't need to be perfect but why not take the time to make it good so it lasts 15, 20 years instead of 2? A great start though to get it going!
Fyi Atlantic Puffers are amazing eating. A trolling motor is a ame chaner, but will cost nearly as much as the whole boat
Nice Work!
Thanks Paul!
just checking if you did a core check on stringers, transom for moisture ????
Yes I did before I bought the boat! Had a professional come with me for a full inspection.
Commend you on your courage to do it yourself .
Thanks Thomas! I certainly tried 😂
I love your channel
thank you!!
aahhhh, I can only imagine what's UNDER the console and deck. Be very careful.
Wait, did you just run your engine without having the hose hooked up and running to freshwater intake?
Nope! I had muffs and a hose hooked up, you just can’t see it in the video
I just subbed you channel sir. hows the new boat working out? great job !!! I did the same thing in my island , I now have a reason to go offshore.. life is " better- on -D water" !
thank you! the boat is doing great, taking her out this weekend!
@4:43 Bless you bro.
How much did the boat cost?
what kind of boat is that again?
It’s an ‘88 Kencraft CC
What I meant to say how much did all materials cost?
I've probably spent $500-750 on materials so far
What size is the motor
Hi bro, so nice boat, But i think that is little bit expensive, don't you believe ?
i think i got a pretty good price, mostly because of the motor. a 90hp 4 stroke in good condition can run you $5k+ alone. thanks for the comment!
@@lastcastfishing3913 Yes, totally agree
What was your top speed?
Top speed is around 32-35
It would of been cheaper to replace the whole piece of wood in the front of consule and would of been smooth ae a babies ass
😂 you’re probably right, that would’ve required a whole lot more fiberglass work but would’ve looked great
WOTD viscous
